A wave of heat rose from his heart.

His fading nerves ca alive again.

He was excited in an instant.

"Brother Zhang, it’s working—haha, it’s working!"

Zhang Xiaoshan smiled.

"Brother Tang, this is just the beginning. Don’t rush it, there’s more to co,"

Zhang Xiaoshan continued with the acupuncture.

Eighty-one needles were administered.

Tang Guoming felt as if he was being scorched by fire, unbearably hot.

He almost felt like he was bursting.

"Brother, I—I can’t take it."

Zhang Xiaoshan put away the silver needle.

The sweat-drenched Tang Guoming stood up.

This was a reaction Tang Guoming had never experienced before.

"Great, I’m fine now. Brother, you truly are a Divine Doctor."

He wasn’t embarrassed, and gripping Zhang Xiaoshan’s hand, he thanked him repeatedly.

Zhang Xiaoshan explained.

"This is just the initial stimulation coming through. After all, it’s been a long ti since there’s been any reaction, sort of a sudden release after a long buildup. But it’s only temporary; I estimate it could last just over an hour before it declines."

"I’ll give you a couple more sessions of acupuncture later, along with so prescribed dicine for you to take. In a month or two, you should be completely cured."

"Alright, thank you so much. You really are my lifesaver. You go ahead and wait for downstairs. I’ll take a shower and join you soon."

Zhang Xiaoshan went downstairs.

Wu Lanxin had already set the table.

"Co on, Little Shan, take a seat,"

Wu Lanxin invited Zhang Xiaoshan to join her.

Zhang Xiaoshan took his seat but didn’t start eating.

Wu Lanxin, wearing an apron, stood at the doorway of the room, the situation sowhat awkward as they were alone together.

"Little Shan, are you still unmarried?"

Wu Lanxin asked, trying to start a conversation.

"Yes, I’m not married yet. Maybe in a couple of years."

"Hehe, I work at a university and know quite a few young female teachers. If you’re interested, I can introduce you to so."

"Oh, Sister, so you’re a university teacher,"

Zhang Xiaoshan thought to himself, no wonder Wu Lanxin was so graceful and charming.

"Thump thump thump..."

They were chatting when Tang Guoming, having showered and changed, hurriedly ca down from upstairs.

"Guo Ming, dinner’s ready,"

Wu Lanxin warmly called out.

But Tang Guoming just waved his hand and said,

"Forget it, I’m not eating."

"Little Shan, there’s a bit of an ergency in the county and I need to deal with it right away. You enjoy your al. I’ll take you out another day,"

"Sister Lanxin, keep Little Shan company for a couple of drinks, I’m leaving now."

Tang Guoming left in a hurry.

Wu Lanxin looked out the window at Tang Guoming’s departing figure, then at the feast she had painstakingly prepared on the table, and tears were already spinning in her eyes.

Zhang Xiaoshan noticed sothing unusual.

Tang Guoming and his so-called ergency—it was obvious he had regained his manly vigor and was in a hurry to find a woman to quench his fire.

But his wife was right here. Why did he need to rush out and seek others?

It didn’t make sense.

There was definitely sothing fishy going on.

After Tang Guoming had left, Zhang Xiaoshan had also intended to leave, but seeing Wu Lanxin’s forlorn and pitiful appearance, he felt sympathetic.

Leaving now would really be a disservice to Wu Lanxin’s efforts.

"Sister Lanxin, your food looks delicious, I can’t wait to try it,"

"Can we start eating now?"

Zhang Xiaoshan looked at Wu Lanxin with feigned anticipation.

The previously morose Wu Lanxin perked up a bit when she heard his words.

"Of course, go ahead."

"Mmm, it’s really delicious."

Zhang Xiaoshan enjoyed a piece of sweet and sour pork ribs, continuously praising Wu Lanxin.

His way of addressing Wu Lanxin was quite artful... Previously it was ’Sister,’ and now it had beco ’Sister Lanxin’, which diminished Tang Guoming’s presence and brought them closer.

"Little Shan, I heard you bought an old pharmaceutical factory. Why, what were you thinking?"

"I had no choice, with all those senior workers—I couldn’t just ignore them. I had to provide them with a livelihood."

"Your heart is really big, but you can’t just throw your money away."

"That’s what I was thinking..."

Zhang Xiaoshan began to chat with Wu Lanxin.

Tang Guoming never discussed work matters with her, and with his health problems, their marital relationship was pretty diocre. It was rare for her to have a man willing to talk with her, and it made Wu Lanxin feel appreciated.

She really enjoyed being included.

Gradually, Wu Lanxin’s fondness for Zhang Xiaoshan extended beyond the expensive gold bracelets he had brought her and began to appreciate him as a person.
