Capítulo 649: Do Not Read
Chapter 4
Reading the last book, I ca to understand three things.
One, the man who left this book for , the supposed father of this body, died in vain and in disappointnt. His dream of figuring out this state, which was addressed as the ‘state of spiritualization,’ ended with his death.
Two, it wasn’t just his dream but the dream of many before him. One could say it was a pipe dream, with only a theory behind it, but no evidence or practical attempt. For several generations, years unaccounted for, they researched this state but couldn’t reach it.
Ever.
The reason? Well, it was a lengthy one, and it could take so ti, so I left it for later.
The third and last thing I gleaned from the book was an idea.
“An idea is all it takes.” The words left behind by my master. He never taught anything but let figure my own path out. He would always say that his teachings would belong to him, but what I would make of his teachings would be mine and mine alone.
He’d give an idea and leave the rest up to to figure it out. And that was how I could proudly say that I worked hard. My master only nudged in the right direction. I was the one to pave my own path.
And this book gave an idea. While they tried to make it all about the elent of wind, I didn’t limit my thought process.
However, what this thod required was a lengthy debate and error, and failure. I didn’t have that kind of ti. I placed the final book on top of the third book and simply pulled one mana bead from my subspace, and placed it on the books, and simply said…
“Fla.”
A first circle utility spell. All it created was a small fla, not even enough to light up this cell, but it was enough to burn the books. I didn’t need them, but I had a feeling soone else would, so burning them would be the right choice.
If they required this information, they’d have to take it from , extending my chances of living in case I couldn’t succeed in escaping.
I didn’t care if it was generational information and had to be passed down to the next generation. The generation of the so-called Michelson ended when I took over this body. Now it was mine alone and mine to use.
I could give them to soone else or use them as a bonfire was up to .
And with that, the final preparation was done. Now all I awaited was the so-called trial that would soon comnce, despite my better judgnt.
For once, I was curious, after all.

“Where are the books, Angelina?” A stunning woman in red with a not-so-stunning scowl on her face said.
“Shouldn’t you be calling crown princess consort, Robina?” The blue-eyed woman, the one who visited the boy in the dungeon, asked with a smirk on her face.
The red-dressed woman, a stunning woman with milky rosy skin and striking red hair and eyes, nad Robina, looked at Angelina with a scowl that could only be interpreted as…
‘If only I could gouge her eyes out.’
Angelina smirked as she could tell what was going through her friend, forr party mber, and sister in law’s mind. She shook her head and replied, “I did what Joshua asked to do.”
“You gave them to that waste?!” Robina slamd her hands on the table in front of her and raised her voice, but Angelina remained calm and collected as she replied, “As he said in his will.”
“Just because you think you’re my brother’s wife, don’t think you can forget your limits.” Robina said before she added, “Joshua is a mber of the Michelson house. Everything he had now belongs to . Even those books.”
“Hey,” Angelina said with a helpless expression, “What do you want to do? Bla the dead guy.”
“Grr!!” Robina gnashed her teeth, but Angelina only smirked in response, which infuriated her even more. Embers of fire began to emit from Robina, but Angelina still remained calm.
“Should you be acting like this on the death anniversary of your husband? Not to ntion, you also cruelly chose the day of his death to execute his son. On top of that, if you act like this, what would the people outside think?” Angelina made a few valid points with an inquisitive but innocent face.
Robina couldn’t help but acknowledge all those points and simply sighed. She took a deep breath to calm herself down and asked, “You gave them to him, didn’t you?”
“…” Angelina remained silent.
That silence was enough of an answer for Robina, who nodded and said, “No worries. It’s not like he can do much from in there. I’ll get those books after his death.”
Angelina could only shake her head inwardly as she couldn’t help but pity the boy and admonish her good friend for choosing Robina as his wife.
Still, as Robina ntioned earlier, even if her husband was the crown prince, there was a limit to her involvent. She couldn’t go beyond her authority, especially when the daughter of the emperor, none other than Robina, and the church, a powerhouse rivaling the empire, were involved.

“Are all preparations done?” A young girl, around the age of fifteen, bearing white eyes and white hair, her skin color pale as well, adorned in a white robed dress that only left her face and neck exposed, asked a middle-aged man sitting across her on the table.
“You do not have to worry, Saintess. After today, you shall never have to hear that waste’s na again.” The middle-aged man replied with a cunning expression on his face.
The girl could only sigh as she looked at the middle-aged man and asked, “Are you saying I shouldn’t mourn the death of the man nad for ?”
“Ah?” The middle-aged man suddenly realized sothing and said with a nervous chuckle, “I-I did not an it that way, Saintess. Please do forgive for my rash choice of words.”
The girl sighed at the man’s pathetic behavior, but such was the cross she had to bear. Even being in her presence was an honor, yet he dared to be so forward. She had to put him in his place.
She simply said, “Be careful from now on. And to perfectly apologize for your statent just now, make sure nothing goes wrong today. It is an important day for and the most important one in the life of my husband. He sees the light of day for the first ti in three years.”
She then placed the cup in her hand before she said, “And for the last ti.”
~~
Life was a strange phenonon. My master used to say. One would try to go left, only to end up going right, he used to say. Never expect things to go your way; always assu the worst and prepare for it.
My preparations were flawless. As the cell door opened, I saw a woman I could only describe as ‘The woman in red’. Red hair, red eyes, red clothes. Her beauty was exceptional, but if there was one thing I had to say diminished her looks slightly, then it’d be the look of scorn in her eyes.
This woman hated . For whatever reason it was, the hatred this woman held for was imnse. It didn’t take a genius to figure out the situation.
The beauty of the woman described royalty or nobility at the very least, and the power she exuded only cented that fact more.
According to the story, then, that would either make a son of a concubine or soone who had hard her family. I had a feeling it was both, the forr reason contributing more to her hatred.
“Let us depart, you son of a who*e. It’s ti you departed from this world and rid it of your filth.”
Her words at the very least suggested so.
Her harsh words didn’t really bother much. No matter the reason, it wasn’t she was talking to. Even though she kept imprisoned for three years, as long as she was willing to let leave today, I’d have no enmity towards her, ever.
“Let go.” So I simply stated what I wanted, my voice clear as it could be, even when I hadn’t drunk a drop of water in three years.
“What?” The woman looked at as if I were speaking nonsense.
“Let go, and I’ll forget everything.” I clarified.
“You seem to have lost your mind this close to death.” She said as a look of madness covered her face, her being emitting fiery red mana.
She looked at with nothing but madness in her eyes as she said, “It is taking every fiber of my being not to scorch you to nothingness right now. Be quiet and co.”
Negotiation failure.
A pity.
I was hoping to show so rcy, the first thing in this body.
But too bad.
What did she say?
In the face of death?
Well, I’ve been in the face of death before. Face to face, actually.
Quite literally as well.
After all, I was the knight of the ultimate end.
Alex Smith.
