gumi's blessing was a unique one. gumi had a very high ntal and physical constitution which allowed her to withstand a lot of power in the first place, and that was the reason why Ares chose her as the one who would wield his most important blessing. gumi's blessing was called 'Mana Zone' and the description for it was as simple as the na. gumi had the ability to extend her mana out from her body in a wide radius of five hundred ters. Within these five hundred ters, gumi could absorb the life force of any creature and use it to fuel her own power.
But this wasn't the scariest thing about the power. Inside the mana zone, gumi could also use sothing called 'Total Control' and in that state of Total Control, it didn't matter what form of action gumi wanted to perform, her body would be able to perform it at the very peak of its abilities! That ant that if gumi had tried the slash that almost killed Mark without the use of Total Control, then there was no way Mark wouldn't have been able to tell exactly what was happening and dodge it before it even got close to him!
But with Total Control, gumi's movent was so fluid and naturally perfect that Mark hadn't even had ti to react before the blow almost took his head off!
The Mana Zone that was given to gumi by Ares wasn't capable of bypassing the defenses of the [Crown of the Golden Horizon] on its own, since they were both gifts from high-ranking gods. But when gumi paired the Mana Zone with the Total Control that made her movents so fluid, it allowed her to bypass the Crown's defenses for a mont, and that was what caused the Ignorance of the Death God to activate when it did!
Mark didn't know any of this, but after seeing gumi use it once, Mark recognized that her ability to control mana was far superior to his own, and he decided that rather than giving her room, he was going to go on the offensive.
Mark dashed in for an attack and gumi was already prepared as she brought her sword down on the spot where she knew Mark was going to land! Mark used his gauntlet to deflect the blade and his knee rose up as he tried to slam it into gumi's solar plexus! gumi imdiately drew out a lot of mana and used it to strengthen the spot where Mark was about to hit, and Mark's knee slamd into her stomach and caused no harm at all!

gumi rolled her blade around and brought it down in a wicked stab to Mark's neck, but Mark was also prepared for this as he quickly activated the [Aegis of Ares] on top of the [Crown of the Golden Horizon], and gumi's sword sparked as it smashed against the impenetrable double defenses! gumi's face showed the first signs of a frown as this happened, but Mark wasn't done as he quickly summoned the [Fangs that Link The Heavens] and ordered it to wrap around gumi's hand!
gumi pulled her hand back quickly before the Fangs could wrap around her, and Mark cursed. While trying to quickly co up with sothing to use to grab hold of gumi, he thought of sothing insane.
Ever since five months ago, Mark had never bothered trying to use the [Symbol of Gaia] on another human being. The reason for this was simply because Mark was not the sort of person who enjoyed entering the head of another person, regardless of the reason for it. Mark knew how personal his connection with the creatures that he bonded with was, so putting himself inside another person's head in that way was not sothing Mark wanted to do.
But Mark also knew that whenever he entered the head of any creature, they would be forced to stop for a few seconds to get used to Mark's presence in their head. That small window of opportunity that the connection gave Mark seed like it would be perfect for revealing an opening in this fight, and Mark didn't need to think about it for too long before he stretched his mind out and imdiately tried to form a connection with gumi's mind!
DOON!
"NGH!"
"FUCK!"
gumi's voice ca out in a loud groan as she felt her head rattle from the force of nature slamming into her mind, and Mark cursed as he felt a massive headache threaten to split his head open!
'What the fuck did he do to !?'
gumi thought this as she flipped back, slamd her foot into the ground and sent a slash through the air in front of her!
SLASH!
WOOSH!
A beam of pure mana shot out from her sword and flashed across the air towards Mark, and Mark was forced to put his gauntlets up to block the mana because of how close and fast it was! The mana slamd into Mark's gauntlets and then they exploded!
BOOOM!
Mark was blown back more than two hundred ters as he felt dust and soot spreading around him and he flipped and stopped himself from moving back before spitting to the side to get rid of so of the dust. This bitch was freaking crazy.
'I like it.'
Mark's lips started to spread into a smile again as he waited for gumi to make a move. gumi's body was still surrounded by a hue of mana and Mark sensed from their short battle just now that the mana around her skin was protecting her in the sa way that the [Aegis of Ares] was protecting Mark from physical and mana attacks. Mark wasn't surprised that she would be able to do sothing similar since she was a child of Ares, but what surprised Mark was that her shield seed to use up less mana than his own and she could also move her mana around her body to decide what part of her body she wanted to protect more than others.
This led Mark to believe that the shield wasn't actually a shield at all, it was just a haze of mana that she had used to protect her body and her sword. The sword that should have broken once it ca in contact with Mark earlier didn't even crack after she used it to hit him, so Mark knew that she was using her abilities on it as well. All these things ca together to make Mark even more excited about putting her down! It had already been about five minutes, but Mark predicted that he would only need two more minutes to win this fight. He just had to make sure he kept the distance between them small and force her into grappling.
But suddenly, gumi's Mana Zone vanished and gumi took a few steps back as she felt sothing strange in the air around her. Mark watched in confusion as gumi turned her head to the side with a blank look on her face. Her expressionless look prevented Mark from being able to tell what was really going on, but Mark realized that it must've been a really big deal when gumi suddenly took off running in the direction of sothing else!
Mark's hands were still in a ready position, and he slowly put them down and tilted his head to one side curiously. What the hell just fucking happened?
