Garren struck his fingers out, the straining shield before him flickering slowly. Lightning poured out of his fingers as he watched them stretch out toward the young man who charged at him with his glowing red sword.

When the young man moved to the side and dodged the lightning bolts, he was surprised.

’He’s fast,’ Garren thought.

Stanley only moved to the side to dodge the handful of lightning bolts before rushing back toward Garren, but it was already too late.

Garren had slipped out of the tightening tal wires and moved away from where he was.

Stanley smashed through the podium, swinging his plasma-filled blade where Garren was. He missed it by barely a few inches, but that gave way for the Garren to use his powers.

Stanley grabbed with his left arm the tal wires that were still floating in the air. He threw it in front of him where it flew through the air, pulling the newly forming lightning bolt away from him.

The lightning bolt sprayed out from the wires as it was too much for even them to handle, and they attacked in all directions. One of them landed on Stanley and it was too fast for him to dodge it.

The lightning struck him and was blocked by the shield.

’Damn!’ Stanley thought, panicking a little. Had the shield not been up while it flickered, he would’ve been hit by the bolt of lightning.

He breathed deep and hard, but he needed more air. He had run all the way here as fast as he could and he was running out of breath.

What should he do?

Stanley was only wondering when he noticed the shield that was around the Lightning Nova flicker off. For a second he wondered why, and that was when he that the Nova’s belt was smoking a little.

Garren pulled out the hot tal box from his belt that was still smoking as he did so. It was hot as well, and he threw it to the side.

It was hard to keep his shield working for long when he started using so much of his lightning.

Nova looked at her brother, unsure what was happening or why his shield suddenly went out. she knew but one thing. Since his shield was gone, she could deal with him.

She moved the tal wire that had been struck by lightning, the distorted shape flying toward her brother, still hot.

Garren stepped back, knowing that he would be killed if he was hit by sothing that took so much of his lightning. He had to dodge.

Stanley used the mont of free ti to take a few breaths. He needed those before ti returned to being slow once more.

He dashed forward, and Garren saw him coming. Lightning crackled from his fingers again, striking straight at where Stanley was.

Stanley dodged it before it even started. He weaved through the bolts of lightning and arrived right in front of Garren.

Garren stepped to the side as the sword strike passed by him, the burning blade heating the air where it passed. He waited until the sword passed by him before punching Stanley.

For the briefest of seconds, Stanley thought about not dodging. He saw no way how Garren’s body could be strong enough to harm him at all. Garren would feel his body to be a stone wall, but the thought of lightning killing him again made him fear.

The theory that he would turn back ti when he was about to die was still just that, a theory. He didn’t know if it would activate each ti or not. So he had to fight like it was his last chance.

He dodged the punch by a large margin, and swung back around the sword, trying to cut the man in half. As long as he died at once, he couldn’t regenerate.

The sword seed to be close to hitting Garren when his body stepped back at a speed that Stanley could never hope to reach. He had dodged at the speed of lightning.

A pained expression filled the man’s face though, and that made Stanley wonder exactly what was going on.

Lightning filled Garren’s fits and he punched once more. Stanley moved under the punch, but the man’s hand suddenly moved downward, slamming onto his back.

Once again, the shield blocked Garren’s attack, protecting Stanley.

Stanley took the opportunity to swing his sword and the Lightning Nova didn’t manage to dodge in ti.

Blood spilled on the floor, filling the cracks that had ford on the floor. Garren’s entire left arm had been chopped off by Stanley’s glowing red sword.

Garren stared at the sword in annoyance, understanding that it was way worse than he had imagined it was. He held the cut-off left arm, grunting in pain, looking at Ning.

He ignored the tal wires that flew at him. They were too slow to do anything. But the guy in front of him was strong.

Garren had no idea that there was soone this strong in his sister’s team. He was only supposed to be strong and fast from the reports, but being fast and reacting fast were two entirely different things.

He understood that better than anyone.

Stanley prepared to rush at him when suddenly the Lightning Nova scread.

Lightning filled his body and spilled out all around him. Even as lightning healed his left arm, he was using another technique.

Stanley rembered this technique.

An all-out lightning strike that he couldn’t dodge. ’I need to move back,’ he thought.

He dashed back.

Lightning escaped from Garren in all directions, snaking out like a wave. Bolts of lightning struck the ground, making their way out rather slowly.

Stanley arrived close to Nova before turning around. Last ti, the Lightning Nova had been right behind him to kill him.

Thankfully he was still up front this ti around.

The Lightning bolts fortunately only struck nearby the Nova, not reaching far out wide enough. However, that had given him ample opportunity to heal his arm. And now he was doing sothing with it.
