Chapter 94: This is Crazy
"The reason I didn’t tell you about it isn’t because I don’t trust you."
"Then what is it?"
"I was just trying to look out for you. You’re a part of my family, Gina, and I don’t want a situation where knowing too much will ever put you in danger."
Gina’s angry expression slowly faded as her hands loosened against the steering wheel, and she spoke up with a gentler tone.
"So what changed? Why are you telling
about it now?"
"Because all my cautions seed to have been for nothing. It didn’t matter that I hadn’t told anyone about my abilities. For so reason, there are eyes on
already. Too many of them. And I also knew that there was no way you would accept my reason for being with this woman unless you knew the full story."
Gina released a small sigh from her nose. If it had been anyone else telling her all of this, then she would have called them mad and then kicked them out of her car for trying to lie to her. But if there was one thing she knew about Jason, it was that he didn’t joke around when it ca to her. He teases her a lot, and his sarcasm is second to none, but he knows when to be serious. And this was one of those monts.
Gina finally nodded.
"Alright, let’s say I believe you. Who is this woman and where did you find her?"
"What do you know about the theory of many worlds?"
Gina groaned in suffering and banged her head against the steering wheel! She was going to have a fucking headache after all this! There was no doubt about it! It was already bad enough that Jason was telling her that he had a literal army of monsters just waiting to co out and fight for him, but he was also trying to say that there were multiple worlds out there and this woman had sohow co from one of those worlds!?
"She’s an alien? Is that what you’re trying to say? Like she’s from a parallel world that has people living in it like Earth? When you called and said things were difficult to explain over the phone, you should’ve told
they were difficult to explain in person too. I don’t even know if I can process all this!"
"But you believe ?"
Jason grinned and put a hand on Gina’s thigh before squeezing it gently, and Gina turned to give him a loving smile before turning back to look at the road.
"Of course, I fucking believe you. If I can’t trust you then I can’t trust anyone in this world."
A smile easily spread on Jason’s face and he took in a breath before he continued.
"The woman’s na is Riyala and she’s the princess of another world known as Radagan. The people there are called Dragonborn and the world experienced a war over who would be the next king. Riyala’s family were attacked by an usurper, her mother and father both died, but she managed to escape and she sohow found her way through a Dinsional Tear and into the Orange Gate that I was clearing out. There was a man chasing her and one of his attacks knocked her out, but I dealt with him before he could kill her. Leaving her in the gate would just be the sa as leaving her to die—"
"So you brought her with you."
Gina’s eyes were narrowed in concentration as she listened to him, and Jason nodded that she was correct. Gina’s mind was whirling as she tried to process all the foreign things that were suddenly being thrown at her. From the existence of a foreign world to this ’Dinsional Tear’ that she had never heard about before. But when she heard the woman’s full story, she felt a pang of pity in her heart for the princess.
Gina looked up into the rearview mirror again and she sighed. She honestly couldn’t even be angry at Jason for what he did. The story she heard just now sounded far more serious than anything she had seen before, and she couldn’t imagine soone going through sothing like that.
But the fact that the woman was a princess probably explained why Gina was in awe of her once she saw her. Even if she was a refugee, there was no way to properly hide the beauty that only a princess would possess. Gina laughed lightly. A dragon princess was lying in her backseat... Gina honestly never thought she would be able to see sothing like that. But for so reason, it didn’t really surprise her as much as it would’ve ten years ago. After everything she had seen happening both inside and outside the Gates, the existence of multiple worlds wasn’t that far-fetched.
"What are you going to do with her? We can’t exactly integrate her into society. There’s no way we won’t be found out. And I don’t know if the SMD will overlook sothing this serious. This is literally a woman from another world. It could be a felony for all we know."
"For now, I’m just going to take care of her till she wakes up. When she’s no longer in danger, we’ll figure out what to do."
Gina sighed as she nodded along. She trusted Jason, so she was sure that he wouldn’t go into sothing like this without thinking it over. Gina didn’t know what sort of cri it would be to harbor a creature from another world, but she wasn’t really keen on finding out either. Once she woke up, they might have to send her on her way.
"So Uncle Richard left this power for you and went to fight against this ’Primordial’, right? If what you’re saying is correct, then I’m sure the Primordial is strong. But the only thing I rember Uncle Richard doing when he was still here was flipping burgers in the restaurant. He was pretty fit for his age, but I never saw him do anything that I would consider superhuman. How in the world is he going to fight them?"
Jason frowned. In truth, he didn’t know either. He was sure that his father was strong, but he had no idea how strong he was or what sort of power he was going to use against the Primordials. All Jason knew was that his father was still alive and sowhere out there in the Primordial Expanse.
"Well, Dad isn’t human, so I’m sure there’s sothing up his sleeves. He wouldn’t have left without knowing he could handle himself."
"Uncle Richard isn’t human? That ans you’re...?"
Jason chuckled.
"Yeah, I’m not fully human."
Gina felt her breath leave her. Her boyfriend was an alien! And he was saying it so casually like it was no big deal! It was like they were talking about the plot of so movie rather than sothing real. And for so reason, Gina couldn’t help but believe him.
"This is crazy. Do you know where you’re from? What happened to your world? Is it like Superman where so global event destroyed your world? Wait... are you weak to kryptonite?"
"Hahaha, very funny. I’m just surprised at how easily you accepted all this. I expected you to call
crazy once I opened my mouth."
Jason said with a small smile and Gina glared at him.
"Of course, I think you’re crazy. This is all crazy. But I trust you, so I’m willing to follow your lead even if it’s crazy. I’m still mad at you for lying to
though!"
"Yeah, sorry about that. I was just trying to look out for you."
A small blush dusted Gina’s cheeks and she huffed as she felt Jason squeeze her thigh again.
"You’re lucky I love you. If you were anyone else, I would’ve kicked you out of this car the mont you started talking about multiple worlds."
Jason couldn’t help but laugh at that.
