Chapter 1020: Show’s Over, Get Lost

“Nie Zhulong! What’s the meaning of this?!” Shouted Liu Bashan as he intercepted him. Beside him, Liu Song Heiran had an unpleasant look on his face as he stared at him.
Nie Zhulong glanced at them and sneered, “Exactly what you heard me say. Now move out of the way.”
With that, he led his family out of the Gu Estate.
“What a cowardly turtle!” Liu Bashan raged while the crowd of onlookers gave the retreating Nie family mocking looks. But those who were a bit smarter looked impressed while their gazes also held a hint of wariness.
Someone who could control their emotions like Nie Zhulong was a very scary person, someone who shouldn’t be made into an enemy and if he does bee one, he should be killed immediately to prevent future troubles.
“That Gu Kid has made a mistake by creating enmity with him.” Someone mented.
“Agreed, but I doubt Nie Zhulong would do something anytime soon, if at all.” Someone else expressed their opinion.
“Oh? What makes you say that?”
“Because he has seen that he isn’t Gu Chen’s match. Unless he has the confidence to eliminate Gu Chen, he isn’t likely to make any move as it will only put him into a disadvantageous situation.”
Hearing this conversation, someone nearby exclaimed, “You mean that Gu Chen has really reached the Bone Tempering realm?”
His voice attracted everyone’s attention and everyone looked at the duo who were conversing. The duo cursed the man, then without saying anything, they slipped away, not wanting to offend a young Bone Tempering cultivator who has the potential to reach the Marrow Cleansing realm in the future.

Max watched the Nie family leave in silence. He had the urge to kill Nie Zhulong but he held back knowing it might create a lot of trouble for him if he did so. After all, unlike Nie Zhulong who had the reason to barge into his family to kill him, he didn’t have any. So the chances were high the Judicial Officer and maybe even the City Lord mansion would target him.
Of course, given his potential, their aim wouldn’t be to kill him but to use this chance to coerce him into serving the City Lord’s family, something he wasn’t willing to do.
He shifted his gaze to Liu Bashan and Song Heiran. Putting his hands behind his back, he casually walked towards them and greeted them with a smile that held no warmth, “Uncle Liu, Uncle Song, long time no see.”
Zhao Ziyan followed beside him, her sharp eyes fixed on the duo. The second, third and other Blood Condensation Elders followed them, pletely alert and murderous looks on their faces. If Liu and Song families tried anything, they would go all out.
Previously they could only endure no matter how Liu and Song families bullied them, but now that Third Master had bee a Bone Tempering cultivator who even Nie Zhulong was clearly wary of, they were going to endure no longer.
The disappointed crowd of onlookers became excited once again. While the matter with the Nie family was new, the enmity between the Gu family and Liu and Song families was an old matter and there was a lot of bad blood between them.
“Let’s hope Patriarch Liu and Patriarch Song aren’t cowardly turtles like Nie Zhulong.” Someone suddenly shouted. A few others immediately shouted out their agreements and made a few more inflammatory ments.
Liu Bashan and Song Heiran acted as though they didn’t hear anything. Song Heiran looked Max up and down and said, “It has been a long time, indeed. The last time I saw you, you were just a Skin Refinement cultivator, but now you have already reached our level. Congratulations!”
Liu Bashan forced an ugly smile on his face and also said, “Congratulations nephew! I’m thrilled to hear it. Now your family doesn’t need to leave the city.”
Then he immediately followed with a burning question, “But I’m curious… How did you reach the Bone Tempering realm just a day after you recovered from your incurable illness that was about to kill you?”
Zhao Ziyan and Gu Ruolan’s expressions darkened, along with the rest of Gu family Elders, though curiosity flickered in some of their eyes.
As for the crowd of onlookers, all of them instantly focused on Max, a significant portion of them feeling greed arise in their hearts. If they could learn the method he used… maybe they could also reach Bone Tempering. Heck, just reaching the Blood Condensation realm would be enough.
Max stared at them with a widening smile and said, “It’s a secret, Uncle Liu. But if I get a chance, I’ll definitely tell you.”
Liu Bashan and Song Heiran had a premonition when they heard his words and their expressions turned dark.
They stared at him in silence, murderous intent flickering in their eyes that they didn’t bother to hide.
While Zhao Ziyan and others became wary and more alert, Max stood there, looking as relaxed as before. The only change was in his smile that had bee amused and a bit anticipatory. It was as if he couldn’t wait for them to attack him…

Song Heiran’s heart skipped a beat and he took a deep breath.
“There is no real need to tell us, Nephew. We are alreadymore than happy to see that you have recovered and reached the Bone Tempering realm.” He forced a smile, then said, “Alright. Now excuse me. I have some things to do.”
Liu Bashan was about to propose to him to attack Max and eliminate him, so when he saw him turn around and leave, his brows furrowed in displeasure. Then he gave Max a cold look, snorted and also turned around and left, though he did so while gnashing his jaws.

Zhao Ziyan and Gu Ruolan immediately breathed in relief and relaxed. The Elders behind them also relaxed.
Third Elder, Gu Lishu, couldn’t control his curiosity and stepped forward but before he could say anything, Second Elder stopped him and said while glancing at the crowd of onlookers, “Let’s see these uninvited guests out first.”
Elder Gu Lishu glared at the crowd and shouted, “Planning to stay for tea? Show’s over. Get lost!”
