Chapter 1018: Nie Family es Knocking
Gritting her teeth, she took a fresh dress from her cupboard and rushed into the washroom. Barely half a minute later, she came out fully dressed and rushed out of her room.
“Please don’t be impulsive, Chen’er.” She muttered under her breath.
While he had indeed broken through to the Bone Refinement realm, because he hadn’t trained enough, hadn’t learned any bat technique and wasn’t used to such strength, he wouldn’t be able to utilize his strength properly.
Currently, even an experienced Blood Condensation realm cultivator might be able to defeat him with ease. If he clashed with the Patriarch Nie…
She shook her head, not wanting to think of the consequences.
Bang!
When Gu Ruolan rushed out of her residence, she saw Zhao Ziyan rushing away.
She tried to catch up to her but realized she was way too slow pared to her.
For a moment, she thought she wasn’t running at her top speed so she tried to push herself to run faster but when she failed to do so, realisation flashed in her eyes.
It wasn’t that she was running slower but Zhai Ziyan was running much faster.
‘She… When did she bee so much faster?’ She couldn’t help but think, surprised.
While Zhao Ziyan was at the peak of Blood Condensation realm, she wasn’t much behind with her cultivation at seventh layer of Blood Condensation. Moreover, unlike Zhao Ziyan, she was proficient in her movement technique so she was as fast as her.
But seeing she couldn’t catch up to her and was instead lagging behind, she couldn’t hold back her surprise.
‘Has she finally mastered her Chasing Wind technique?’ She thought but then frowned because it shouldn’t be possible since she had been too busy to even cultivate properly for the past two and a half years.
Ba-Dum!
Suddenly her heart skipped a beat as a thought crossed her mind,
‘Has she broken through to the Bone Tempering?’ She found it even harder to believe. If she could break through, she would have done it much earlier.
‘Wait!’ Her pupils constricted as another thought crossed her mind. Then her heart began to beat faster.
‘Is it possible that Chen’er’s cultivation art can also help his partner bee stronger?’
In her life, she ever only loved two things—-one was her late husband and the other was the Cultivation.
She loved her late husband because he had done her a great kindness by saving her and her family from being sold as slaves and loved the cultivation because she didn’t want to remain weak whose life others could decide at whim, just like it was about to happen when her late husband saved them.
Since she had already decided to agree to Gu Chen’s request for whatever reason, she couldn’t help but bee excited and filled with anticipation.
Though she was younger than Zhao Ziyan and her Vital Qi hadn’t begun declining yet, it was only a matter of time before it did. She even doubted she could reach the peak of Blood Condensation by then because the Gu family could no longer support her cultivation.
But if her conjecture was correct, then…
She unconsciously clenched her fists, her eyes shining brightly.
…
Just a short bit before the motion erupted, Max had left Zhao Ziyan’s residence and ran into his third sister, Gu Yinyin, who immediately raised her brows and curiously asked, “You went to meet mother or the second mother?” Not giving him the chance to accept or deny, she asked, “So early in the morning, why?”
“To give them some good news. Unfortunately, they were sleeping, so I couldn’t.” Max answered with a calm smile.
“Oh?” Gu Yinyin hummed in surprise but before she could ask anything, Max looked at her deeply and said, “You seem worried, Third Sister. Is it because of the First Elder’s betrayal?”
Gu Yinyin’s expression fell at the question and she sighed, “Yes. His betrayal had worsened thr Family’s situation. I took a walk around the estate yesterday and saw everyone is more anxious now and some…”
She closed her eyes to conceal the glint of pain as she said, “Some are even thinking of leaving the family.”
Max wasn’t surprised. It was only natural for people to bee scared and lose confidence when things bee so bad. In fact, he was surprised by the fact that people hadn’t left the family until now.
“Third Sister, everything will get better very soon. So don’t worry too much. This expression doesn’t suit your pretty face.” Max said with a carefree laugh as he softly pinched her cheek.
Gu Yinyin looked at him in surprise. She knew her brother wasn’t stupid or uncaring. So there must be some reason behind his confidence. Remembering how he said he had went to deliver some good news to their mothers, she opened her mouth.
“Third Brother—”
Bang!
“Aaahh!”
Before she could say anything, however, the sound of an impact followed by a pained scream echoed.
Max’s expression changed and he rushed toward the estate gate.
Swoosh!
“Third Brother, wait!” Gu Yinyin shouted out and ran after him but became astonished when the distance between them rapidly increased.
“This… How…” She stopped in her tracks and stared at his disappearing figure, unable to believe what she was seeing.
Swoosh!
Right then, Gu Lan ran over and seeing Gu Yinyin standing there with a dazed look on her face, she asked, “Third Sister, what’s wrong? What was that scream?”
“Huh, I don’t know. It came from the gate.” Gu Yinyin snapped back to her senses and began running, “Third Brother has rushed over there. I’ll go see what’s happening, you go alert Mother and the Elders.”
Gu Lan nodded and was about to rush away when she saw her mother, who shouted at them as she zoomed past them, “Go, stay with Rong’er and your sisters-in-law. Don’t e out unless I or Chen’er calls you.”
Swoosh!
Both sisters felt their hearts drop when they heard this. Clearly Something bad was happening. They wanted to follow, not wanting to leave their brother and mother alone to deal with the situation but they couldn’t disobey their mother either.
“Let’s go and inform the Elders and others.” Gu Yinyin quickly said and they rushed in the direction of the Elders’ residences.
…
Max arrived at the estate’s entrance and over two dozen men, headed by Nie Zhulong and their Blood Condensation Elders, marching inside.
Max ignored everyone and his gaze landed on the two corpses by the gate—they were the Gu family members who were on the guard duty.
“Who killed them?” He asked, his voice devoid of any emotion, as his dark gaze swept over the crowd.
Creation is hard, cheer me up!
