"No!" Star Genesis shouted, interrupting Kyle. "You've almost died just now! Kyle, your life is the most important one in all of Ayuvar! You're our only chance! If you die, nothing will ever change!"
Star Genesis took a deep breath. "Thank you for trying, but please, stop."
The room became quiet as Star Genesis looked down in acceptance.
"Kyle," she slowly said.
"It's over."
Kyle felt like a pit was opening in his stomach.
"But..." he said before falling quiet.
"It's fine," Star Genesis said softly. "I knew the risk. I knew the danger. I knew this might happen."
Kyle gritted his teeth in frustration as he put his head in his hands.
The next moment, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up, and then...
Star Genesis hugged him tightly.
"It's okay," she whispered quietly, tears gathering in her eyes. "It's okay."
Kyle clenched his fists. His arms shook, and all the muscles in his body strained.
"Please, don't die," Star Genesis said quietly.
Kyle's eyes were shut tight.
Star Genesis just held his strained body.
"I'm sorry," Kyle whispered in a shaky voice.
"No, I'm sorry," Star Genesis answered, a line of tears flowing down her cheeks as she looked at him. "If I had focused more on my power, I might have bee a Legendary Sage. Then, I might have had a realistic shot at fusing with an Elemental. If I had just..."
She fell quiet.
"Been better," she finished.
Kyle grabbed Star Genesis' shoulders and pushed her away before looking at her with an intense expression. "Don't say that!" he shouted. "You're the reason why we got this far! You analyzed the Formation Arrays! Your Formation Array allowed me to prehend so many Laws in the Elemental Dimension! Without it, I would still be working on my first one!"
"Without your Recovery Formation Array, I wouldn't have been able to fuse with the Elemental! Without your trust, Sebastian wouldn't have given me the prehension Fruits! So what if your Battle-Strength is lower?! Your Battle-Strength isn't a representation of inpetence but one of sacrifice! You've sacrificed your own power so that mine can grow!"
"You couldn't have been better! You can't improve perfection!"
As Star Genesis looked at Kyle's intense eyes, her expression faltered. The strength she had tried to portray broke under Kyle's eyes.
Then, Kyle pulled Star Genesis into a tight hug.
All inhibitions were lost as Kyle enveloped Star Genesis' body with his embrace.
When Star Genesis felt Kyle's loving embrace, she couldn't keep her posure anymore.
She shouted in pain as she returned Kyle's hug. She held him with all of her power.
It was like she feared that he would vanish if she let go.
The two of them held each other tight. They wished this moment would last forever.
"We have to leave!" Sebastian shouted from the side. "I know this sucks, but we have to go! Kyle, if you die, her death won't have any meaning!"
Kyle's fists clenched in frustration and fury. Nothing was more important than this moment!
At that moment, a scene from the Tertiary World shot through Kyle's mind. Falk had been killed by a storm of metal, and when all the other members had tried to save him, Kyle had just told them to go.
Now, he understood why his friends had started hating him.

Kyle carefully ended the hug. Pushing Star Genesis' body away felt like the hardest thing he had ever needed to do. He felt like he was taking her happiness away.

Kyle felt like the image of Star Genesis' teary smile would stay with him forever.

"It's fine! Go! Go!" Star Genesis said, pushing Kyle towards Sebastian.
Kyle gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. He took a deep breath with closed eyes.
Then, he opened his eyes with determination.
One last time, he looked at Star Genesis, who was looking at him from a distance.
"I won't forget you," Kyle said. "I will never forget you."
Star Genesis smiled weakly. "Thank you."
A second of silence passed.
"Goodbye, Star Genesis," Kyle said.
"Lara," Star Genesis answered. "My name is Lara."
Kyle felt like his insides were being torn into pieces, but none of the pain reached his face as he smiled warmly.
"A beautiful name," Kyle said warmly. "Well then, goodbye, Lara."
Lara just smiled warmly. "Goodbye, Kyle."
Kyle slowly turned his head and looked at Sebastian. He could still sense Lara with his Energy Sense, but...
He felt like he would never see her again.
Sebastian had already started the process. His body was warping with Spacetime Lightning as his mind was distorting.
Kyle narrowed his eyes and focused on the Karmic Line between him and Sebastian. He had no idea how he could reconnect a distorted mind with a Spirit, but if there were a way, it had to be related to the Laws of Karmic Luck.
The Karmic Line between the two of them distorted as well, but this time, it was not Kyle's doing. Sebastian could no longer be described as dead or alive. He still existed, but he also wasn't alive.

Star Genesis sat down and pulled her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around them.
"I don't want to die," she whispered. "I know that I will die, but I don't want to."
A moment later, the room started to shake violently. The Demon Car's empty body had collapsed.
Very slowly, the Demon Car started transforming into Energy. It was decaying.
With the Demon Car's death, it also lost its will.
The insides were no longer isolated from the outside.
The root network noticed the presence of a human and sounded the alarm.
An Ascendant Demon from a close Law Well received the alarm and charged forward.
One strike.
There was no resistance.
In the Elemental Dimension, Kyle saw as the newly formed Karmic Line between him and Star Genesis vanished.
She was dead.

Sebastian's mind wasn't recovering. Kyle was trying to save him. He was trying to restart Sebastian's mind.
