Chapter 157: Chapter 156: Blast Kill

At this mont, Li Fengtian looked sowhat disheveled, his clothes slightly tattered.

Aside from that, however, he hadn’t sustained any serious injuries.

Thanks to his protection, the other two hadn’t suffered any fatal wounds either. Only Lu Xin, being the weakest, had been knocked unconscious by the sudden, violent explosion.

As for the brawny man, a Martial Arts Family who had broken the limits of the human body, opened his Essence Elent Divine Treasure, and achieved a leap in his Life Level, he was undoubtedly much better off than her. He only felt a bit dizzy and had no other major issues.

"Middle-Rank Black Blood Species!"

After sensing the dense aura of a Black Blood Species that Hu Qi had disguised himself with using the Twisted Light, Li Fengtian’s expression turned grim.

He couldn’t understand how his opponent had managed to block his senses and launch a surprise attack on his plane.

Blood Slaves and Lower-Rank Black Blood Species were nurous, but Middle-Rank Black Blood Species were a different matter.

Those that could appear on the surface were few and far between, yet he had sohow managed to run into one.

’What damned luck is this?’

"Take care of your junior sister. Take her and run as far as you can. Get out of here, now," Li Fengtian said in a low voice.

He tossed Lu Xin to the brawny man.

Then, a wave of True Essence Power enveloped the pair, lowering them from the sky toward the sea below.

After landing on the sea, the brawny man channeled his Qi Blood True Strength to the soles of his feet and, while holding Lu Xin, actually stood steadily on the water’s surface.

He was walking on water.

This could be achieved by moving at an extrely high speed, generating enough reactive force upon montary contact with the water’s surface.

However, while simple in theory, it was nearly impossible for an ordinary person to accomplish.

For a Martial Arts Family, however, achieving this was not difficult. The vibrational frequency of their Qi Blood True Strength at the soles of their feet was more than enough to et the condition.

On the surface of the sea, the brawny man didn’t linger. After getting his bearings, he held the young woman and took off, his figure leaping across the rippling seawater toward the nearest shore.

Throughout this, Li Fengtian’s gaze remained locked on the Middle-Rank Black Blood Species that had suddenly appeared before him.

To his surprise, however, his opponent made no move.

’But this is for the best. Once those two are away, my hands won’t be tied.’

Just then, Hu Qi moved.

A straightforward, unadorned punch shot directly toward Li Fengtian.

On the fist’s edge, a layer of black mist, ford from a bone-chilling and sinister power, swirled. This was a power unique to the Black Blood Species.

Of course, this was rely for show—a mirror-like illusion forged by Hu Qi using the Twisted Light. In reality, its essence was still True Essence Power.

Hmph!

Facing this strike, Li Fengtian advanced instead of retreating.

As the bones and muscles of his body trembled, he snapped his right arm back, his muscles instantly tensing like a fully drawn bowstring.

Silver True Essence Power erupted as he, too, threw a punch.

A savage grin spread across his face.

’He should know that my Sealed Wolf Sect’s Inheritance Secret Martial Arts is heavily focused on the physical body.’

’In terms of physical strength alone, aside from a few select Schools like White Rhinoceros Tower and the Divine Statue Sect, almost no one among the Middle and Lower-tier Schools can surpass my Sealed Wolf Sect.’

In an instant, two beams of light, one silver and one black, collided with a trendous ROAR!

It instantly blasted a massive vacuum in the space around them.

The two figures clashed at blinding speed, moving too fast to be seen.

All that could be heard were a series of earth-shattering booms, like thunderclaps, and the sonic booms of tearing air.

BAM!

Suddenly, a figure was sent flying.

It was Li Fengtian. His clothes were now stained with blood, and his body shot like a cannonball, smashing violently into the sea below.

Seawater erupted, creating waves dozens of ters high.

A few seconds later, the vast sheet of water crashed back down.

Where he had landed, Li Fengtian’s figure was nowhere to be seen.

Seeing this, Hu Qi’s eyes darted slightly.

A cold and cruel smile touched his lips.

"Since you won’t co out, I’ll just go and kill those two!"

With that, the wings on his back vibrated. He turned, about to transform into a streak of Flowing Light and pursue the brawny man and the woman.

BOOM!

Suddenly, a section of the sea exploded!

A massive body, wreathed in torrents of water, burst from the surface, blocking Hu Qi’s path.

It was a Werewolf, its body towering over ten ters tall and exuding a terrifying aura.

Its silver fur stood on end like steel needles, glinting with a tallic sheen in the sunlight.

Its thick limbs were like pillars supporting the heavens, brimming with explosive power.

Its head was massive and savage, its sharp fangs gleaming coldly in the sun as if they could easily shatter steel.

AWOOO!

It threw its head back and howled, the sound echoing across the sea like thunder, making the very air tremble.

"You damned scum, you forced my hand! Don’t worry, I’m going to tear you to absolute shreds!"

A cold laugh, thick with killing intent, issued from the silver Werewolf’s mouth.

It was Li Fengtian’s voice, but it was tinged with a hint of madness.

He had just activated a special Secret Technique from his Inheritance Secret Martial Arts, one that could temporarily boost his power by transforming him into a Werewolf.

However, this Secret Technique ca with nurous limitations: it only lasted for a few minutes, it was followed by a long period of weakness, and it made the user extrely belligerent.

Still, despite the many restrictions, the power boost was imnse.

It could multiply his strength several tis over for a short duration.

Now, his body was a great deal larger than Hu Qi’s.

The difference was like that between an adult and an infant.

As he spoke, he thrust out his sharp, gleaming wolf claws, making the air implode as they shot toward Hu Qi.

BAM!

Yet, in the next mont, Hu Qi raised a hand and caught the massive wolf claw. His figure didn’t waver in the slightest.

"Is this all? How... pitifully weak."

Hu Qi looked up, a flash of disappointnt crossing his face.

Compared to the two Middle-Rank Black Blood Species he had previously cut down with his blade, this man was far too weak. Even with this power-up, he was at best barely on par with one of them.

’Originally, I was curious about just how strong a human Qi Dao Grandmaster could be.’ Hu Qi hadn’t known. He lacked a fra of reference. So, he had wanted to use this opportunity as a test.

But the strength displayed by the man before him now... ’...is just too pathetic.’

’If they’re all of this caliber, it’s no wonder human Qi Dao Grandmasters are no match for the Middle-Rank Black Blood Species.’

"How is this possible?"

The face of the Silver Wolf that Li Fengtian had beco twisted visibly.

For the first ti, terror gripped his heart.

However, having gauged his opponent’s approximate strength, Hu Qi had no intention of playing around any longer. He curled his fingers, his sinews and bones twisting into a single cord. His muscles beca like steel, as if a Giant Dragon were coiling, dormant, just beneath his skin.

He raised his fist and brought it smashing down.

BAM!

CRACK!

The instant Hu Qi’s fist collided with the thick, door-sized wolf arm, the flesh rippled like water. The bone, like a piece of rotten wood, snapped on the spot.

Spurred by the intense pain, Li Fengtian didn’t even have ti to scream.

He could only feel a terrifying Power surging from his arm and coursing through his entire body.

His own True Essence Power was completely unable to stop it.

The mont this new power made contact, his own dissipated completely.

It rampaged through his body as if through an undefended territory.

Under the concussive shock of this Power, the powerful physique of a Qi Dao Grandmaster began to fail. His sinews, organs, flesh, and bone all trembled, as if they were about to be torn apart and pulverized.

It was a raw, ferocious power, utterly devoid of technique.

It was simply impossible to neutralize.

"You..."

Li Fengtian’s face was a mask of horror. His eyes bulged as he spat out a mouthful of blood.

The powerful aura that had surged when he beca a Werewolf instantly withered away.

He wanted to fight back.

But he couldn’t.

Because what t him was the storm of Hu Qi’s fists.

His body, towering more than ten ters tall, was battered by Hu Qi’s terrifying, titanic punches.

It shuddered and retreated again and again as blood rained from his wounds.

BAM!

BAM!

BAM!

With the first punch, Li Fengtian’s body shuddered, and crimson blood trickled from his eyes, ears, nostrils, and mouth.

With the second, small cracks spiderwebbed across his body, spraying blood and wolf fur as if from a squeezed sponge.

With the third, Li Fengtian was forced out of his Silver Wolf form, reverting to his original appearance. His body went completely still.

His white hair was a ss, the light in his eyes dimd, and his Vitality was extinguished!

The next mont, his body, no longer supported by True Essence Power, began to fall from the sky.

Just then, a hand clamped down on Li Fengtian’s head.

Imdiately, a rich, spiritual light flew out from his skull.

At the sa ti, the Vitality and Essence and Qi in his body were instantly drained, leaving it withered—a shriveled husk of skin and bone.

As it fell from the sky, it was caught by the wind and turned into a puff of Ashes, vanishing completely.

Modification Points

76 (60%)

A line of crimson text flashed before his eyes.

He glanced down at where Li Fengtian had been, now with no body left to find.

"Interesting."

Hu Qi was sowhat surprised.

’I don’t know if it’s because my Three-Eyed Primordial Snake Bloodline has grown, or if it’s because Li Fengtian himself, as a Qi Dao Grandmaster, was sohow different. Not only can I plunder their Light of the Soul, but I can also steal the Vitality from their body.’

’This is good, though. It saves

the trouble of disposing of a body.’

With this in mind, Hu Qi turned his head and glanced in the direction the other two had fled.

The Twisted Light around him flashed, and he transford into a white falcon. With a beat of his wings, he tore through the air, soaring high and leaving the area.

’I’m not going to kill those two. Keeping them alive is useful. They can spread the word that Li Fengtian was killed by a Black Blood Species.’

’If everyone died, especially right after I left the Shexin Sect, suspicion would inevitably fall on them. The death of a Qi Dao Grandmaster is no small matter. If it attracts the attention of one of the Federation’s few Refining God Venerables, the investigation might lead back to .’

’Pinning the bla on the Black Blood Species is the perfect solution.’

The Sealed Wolf Sect only had one Qi Dao Grandmaster: Li Fengtian.

After losing Li Fengtian, it was almost certain that from this day forward, if no new Qi Dao Grandmaster appeared within the Sealed Wolf Sect, their only option would be to fall from the ranks of Middle-tier Schools and beco one of the many Lower-tier Schools.

It didn’t matter how many Martial Arts Family they had.

Only a faction with a Qi Dao Grandmaster at its head was qualified to be ranked as a Middle-tier School.

Lower-tier Schools were on a completely different level from Middle-tier Schools.

The level of attention they received from the Xia Federation was also different.

Only Qi Dao Grandmasters were qualified to beco council mbers of the Xia Federation, holding the power to decide on matters concerning the entire Federation.

This was also why the Sealed Wolf Sect had dared to harbor ill intentions toward the Shexin Sect after hearing that Jiang Zuo was dead and Du Wang was in seclusion, seriously injured and on the brink of death.
