Chapter 156: Chapter 155: Intercept

Above Anshan City.

A faint roar grew louder as it approached from the distance.

The residents below looked up.

They saw a military helicopter, like a great iron bird, roaring past high above.

Through the helicopter’s window, the stout man who had been standing behind Li Fengtian could be seen, his expression focused as he piloted the aircraft.

As a Secret Martial Artist at the Martial Arts Family level, his ability to learn was astonishing.

He even possessed a near-photographic mory.

He could learn new things extrely quickly, mastering them in a short amount of ti.

Flying a helicopter was just a Skill he had picked up in his spare ti, spending a little while to learn it on a whim.

Inside the helicopter cabin, there was no sound other than the whir of the rotor blades and the howl of the wind.

None of the three people in the cabin spoke to one another.

They remained silent until they had left the airspace of Anshan City and the dense buildings below began to grow sparse.

Li Fengtian, who had been leaning back in silence, finally opened his eyes.

He turned his head to look at the young woman beside him.

Slowly, he spoke.

"What’s wrong? Are you still angry with your grandfather?"

Lu Xin’s face was excessively pale, and the corners of her eyes still showed traces of blood.

Her expression was sowhat dazed.

She clearly hadn’t recovered from the serpent’s hiss she had heard earlier.

Now, upon hearing Li Fengtian’s question,

as if unable to contain her grievances any longer, her eyes reddened and tears welled up, streaming down her face as she threw herself into Li Fengtian’s arms.

"Grandfather, are you afraid of that bitch? Why didn’t you help ?"

"You don’t understand."

Li Fengtian shook his head.

"It’s not that I’m afraid of her."

"According to the investigation on Helinta’s file, she previously tried to capture a Lower-Rank Black Blood Species and let it escape."

"At that ti, she should have still been at the Martial Arts Family level."

"Even if she has broken through, it must have been very recent."

"I broke through decades ago."

"How could she possibly be my opponent?"

"The reason I didn’t act is that the destructive power of a Qi Dao Grandmaster is simply too terrifying."

"If we were to fight, the commotion would be too great to conceal."

"At that point, even I wouldn’t be confident in my ability to protect you two."

"Furthermore, within Zhu Xi, fighting to the death between mbers is strictly forbidden. While not many people abide by this rule, it cannot be violated openly. After all, this is a rule established by the Venerable Lords themselves!"

"But when she attacked , why..."

Lu Xin heard this and instinctively wanted to retort about how Hu Qi had gotten away with attacking her, but Li Fengtian cut her off with a wave of his hand.

His eyes shifted.

He stared at Lu Xin.

"You say she attacked you. Do you have any proof? Even if you did, what is your status, and what is hers? Given that you rashly offended a Qi Dao Grandmaster, even if she had killed you, she would not have been at fault."

Li Fengtian’s words were blunt, but they were also cruel.

However, Lu Xin surprisingly didn’t argue. She knew that what Li Fengtian said was the truth.

For soone in the Qi Blood Realm to dare speak to a Qi Dao Grandmaster like that... if her grandfather hadn’t been there, it wouldn’t have been impossible for her to be killed on the spot.

Though she understood this, a flash of resentnt still crossed her face.

"Is there really no other way?"

"Heh heh, don’t be too discouraged. There are still ways. You should know that our trip this ti isn’t just on behalf of our Sealed Wolf Sect."

It was unclear what he was thinking of,

but a cold glint flashed in the depths of Li Fengtian’s eyes.

As for Lu Xin, she seed to have thought of sothing.

Her eyes lit up.

"Grandfather, are you saying..."

...

While the two were talking,

no one noticed

that several kiloters away, a pure white falcon was circling above a patch of white clouds.

At a glance, it was almost perfectly camouflaged, blending in with the clouds and making it impossible to spot.

It spread its broad, powerful wings. The white feathers trembled slightly in the airflow, glinting with a tallic sheen under the sun, as if forged from a tough alloy.

Its brass-colored pupils, sharp as needles, contracted and dilated.

As they did, the faces of the people on the helicopter ca clearly into its view.

This falcon was, of course, Hu Qi in transford shape.

During this ti, as his Bloodline had grown, his developnt of his second Talent, Twisted Light, had also beco more powerful.

Twisted Light not only allowed him to distort his own form and take on other shapes, but it also let him acquire the abilities of the creatures he transford into.

For example, by transforming his nose into a dog’s, he could gain its sense of sll.

However, the prerequisite was a sufficiently deep understanding of the creature he was changing into; he had to analyze its structure to achieve this.

Conversely, without that understanding, if he only knew its appearance, he could only change his exterior, which served no real purpose.

Of course, the special traits of these creatures were nothing special compared to the physique of a Qi Dao Grandmaster.

The exception would be creatures with special abilities, like the Black Blood Species.

Still, this was a novel experience for Hu Qi, a rather amusing way to play around.

Soon.

As ti passed,

the helicopter completely left the vicinity of Anshan City.

It appeared over a stretch of ocean.

Seeing that the ti was right,

Hu Qi tucked his wings slightly and shot downwards like a white arrow released from a bowstring.

At the sa ti, the Twisted Light around his body rippled like water.

His figure suddenly swelled.

...

The rotor blades spun. Inside the cruising helicopter,

BEEP! BEEP!

Suddenly, a red warning light on the ceiling began to flash, letting out a piercing shriek.

Li Fengtian, who had been feigning sleep in the back, snapped his eyes open.

He didn’t need anyone to say a word.

His senses had already detected a terrifying aura that had abruptly appeared within five ters of them.

"This is bad!"

His expression changed!

But before he could make a move,

BOOM!!!

The cabin rocked violently, and a blazing light filled their vision.

From the outside, after a trendous explosion,

the entire helicopter was engulfed in a Fireball without any warning.

Under the imnse force of the blast, the helicopter’s wreckage scattered like pieces of paper swept up in a gale.

The debris fell like burning teorites, trailing long tails of fire as it plumted into the sea at high speed, sending up massive splashes.

And where the helicopter had been, a ten-ter-tall, winged figure now stood.

It was a Young Man with a sinister face, a pair of blood-red eyes, and a mouth full of sharp, pointed teeth.

"You dare!"

Just then, an furious roar erupted.

The fireball in the air flickered and trembled as the Heaven and Earth Primordial Energy gathered, forming a hundred-ter-wide palm.

The giant palm’s five fingers, like hooks, tore through the air as they grabbed straight for the sinister, winged Young Man—Hu Qi.

Seeing this, Hu Qi also threw a punch.

BOOM!

Fist and claws t, creating an invisible shockwave that spread outwards.

It simultaneously extinguished the fireball,

revealing several figures within.

Li Fengtian stood in the air, holding two figures in his grasp.
