Capítulo 1842: Chapter 1841: Night of Chaos

“It’s all clear here, just so ordinary people.”

Shard explained, as Miss Benanis with her golden hair nodded while looking around:

“There’s already a fight in the opera house, but it seems to just be a distraction. Tonight’s commotion is quite sothing. Margaret, you stay here, I’ll make you pass out.”

“Yes, teacher.”

The princess on the carriage said.

“Shard, use the Moonlight Slash on us.”

The silvery moonlight flew towards the witches. The three of them raised their hands together, and the shattered moonlight split into three parts, flying toward the alley’s side wall, leaving deep glowing marks on the wall:

“That should do it. Margaret, you don’t need to explain anything, you’re the victim here. Those ordinary people who attacked you were just unlucky, encountering soone trying to be a hero and save the beauty.”

Then she spoke to the others:

“I’ll stay here and return to the opera house when the Grey Glove people arrive. Ciris, who is controlling a mory-form of

in the opera house, won’t arouse suspicion. Audrey, go where you need to go now, rember to explain why you were late for eting with the princess. Sylvia, you and Shard investigate this.”

This was considered Miss Benanis’s ho ground, so she arranged the following actions. The others nodded in agreent and then proceeded with their tasks.

Miss Sylvia reached out and grabbed Shard’s arm:

“Don’t resist.”

Shard just felt a blur before his eyes, and suddenly they were standing at the highest point of the opera house’s spire-shaped roof, beside an owl stone statue. The view here was incredibly open, although it was night, Shard’s Gaze Power allowed him to clearly see a squad of police and a large number of troops approaching with the Glass Cask Opera House as the center.

However, this attack was purely orchestrated by ordinary people, so the Church’s team was not reacting at all.

“How should we investigate this?”

Shard asked, and Miss Sylvia replied:

“Before we ca over, we bumped into a gunman on the periphery and found out a few things through interrogation. Now, use your perception with mine to determine if there’s any spatial anomaly in this area.”

She placed her right hand on Shard’s shoulder, and then they both began spellcasting together:

“Spatial Perception.”

“Enhanced Spatial Awareness.”

Two exceptionally powerful spiritual forces swept across the entire area. This ti, with the Grand Witch of Space and Shard working together to cast the spell from a high vantage point, Shard even felt as if he had completely mastered all the details of the surrounding area’s topography, as if a precise real-ti map had suddenly appeared in his mind.

“What arcane technique are you using?”

Miss Sylvia was a bit surprised, as she saw a scene similar to what Shard saw:

“No need to answer , you can tell

later; it’s not important now. I found it, follow .”

The witch’s golden eyes looked towards the destination, and then with another step, they vanished from the opera house roof and appeared in a closed watch shop on the southeast side of the opera house.

Although the shop’s door was closed and no lights were on inside, three n constantly checking their pocket watches were surprisingly sitting inside. After Shard and Miss Sylvia appeared out of thin air, the three n imdiately raised their guns and aid at them, but with a click, their heads almost simultaneously turned back around.

The sound of the bodies hitting the ground was a bit muffled, and the spatial anomaly lay just on the wall behind the watch shop’s counter. The Grand Witch of Space simply probed for a mont to understand the situation:

“An accidental link to this spatial anomaly point, originally quite weak, almost like the crack you saw after eating the mushroom Audrey ntioned. Leaving it alone wouldn’t cause any problems, but recently, there have been many such occurrences. However, soone has used special spatial power to fix this connection point as a temporary space gate. Although it can’t exist for long, it can last a few hours. Impressive, I want to see who’s on the other side.”

She wasn’t worried about an ambush, as the other party only sent ordinary people, indicating they still didn’t dare violate the Official Secrets Act, so there couldn’t be a formidable enemy on the other side. The Ring of Fate appeared behind her, and Miss Sylvia and Shard passed through the wall with a faint door-shaped silhouette together. The feeling of weightlessness lasted only a second before it ended, lights appeared overhead, and a wooden door standing in the center of the foyer was pushed open, with Shard and Miss Sylvia walking out one after the other.

“The door’s opened, have they returned? No, no, it’s not our people!”

Voices of panic echoed from around the foyer and the balcony on the second floor overhead. Following a series of rapid gunshots, dozens of bullets froze around Shard and Miss Sylvia. The witch looked up at the surroundings, and with a wave of her hand, all the bullets returned along their original paths, hitting everyone who had been shooting.

“We need to act quickly, the Church will soon be able to track here.”

“Yes, I understand.”

Shard and the witch both knew what they had to do. After scanning the building with Spatial Perception and Enhanced Spatial Awareness, they each took a step in different directions and vanished from the foyer. Upstairs, frantic shouting, gunfire, and other sounds of combat imdiately ensued.

Five minutes later, on the third floor of the secret manor hidden in the northern suburbs of Mikaela Ironworks City, with an astonishing crash, three figures smashed through the glass, falling inelegantly into the courtyard. Miss Sylvia flew out surrounded by Red Butterflies, and Shard appeared among them, throwing the Holy Emblem of the Evil God onto the ground:

“Tyranny Club.”

The manor was populated by many ordinary people and a few Circle Sorcerers; none of the three figures before them could match Shard. The highest among them was an Eight Rings, but even combined, they were no match for Miss Sylvia.

“Who created that Space Gate?”

The Witch asked the key question, and the three who had fallen got up and answered. The Rings of Fate of the Eight Rings, Seventh Ring, and Six Rings appeared, and the Desecration – [Fear][Mist][Toxin] emitted dazzling silver Spiritual Light:

“Fear Spirit!”

“Fog of War!”

“Lethal rcury!”

The silver mist, which could corrode flesh and soul, spread out, but with just a wave of her hand, Miss Sylvia erased the deadly silver mist.

The three then each held their Holy Emblems and praised the Evil God – [God of Tyranny]. But as soon as they began to speak, one of them was struck through the chest by a Thunder Spear thrown by Shard. The silver thunder exploded, blowing apart the right side of his body, but he only fell unconscious, not dead.

The remaining two used the Divine Arts of the Evil God, and a massive black hand ford in the air, striking towards Miss Sylvia, but the Witch effortlessly sidestepped, letting the blow ignite black flas at the mansion behind her.

She looked into the distance, then raised her hand to imprison a Six Rings woman in place using spatial locking. The remaining Eight Rings Sorcerer turned to flee into the distance, only to collide head-on with the Church’s Circle Sorcerers arriving from the night sky.

They were two Twelve-Ring Sorcerers, unfamiliar to Shard and Miss Sylvia, but the traces of Divine Arts symbolizing the True God [Father of Peace] on them were unmistakable.

The two easily captured the already injured Eight Rings man, and after landing, looked at the remaining people in this hidden manor, contemplating montarily, the elderly man with glasses spoke:

“Is there intelligence to share?”

Miss Sylvia glanced at Shard, who said:

“We’ve been tracking the [Tyranny Club] for a while. We found their base outside the city after encountering them when they tried to assassinate Princess Margaret Anjou tonight. The Church should already know this – there’s an Edwards within the [Tyranny Club], and we suspect this manor and the clock shop in the city are connected through a Space Gate, crafted by that Edwards. This power, different from the Circle Sorcerer System, seems to be a talent inherent to the Edwards bloodline.”

From the three captives, Miss Sylvia would take the Six Rings woman back for questioning, while the Church could take the other two. The two Twelve-Ring Sorcerers from the Peace Church exchanged glances:

“Who are you?”

“Witch Council.”

Miss Sylvia openly admitted, though standing beside her was a man, whether an Illusion Technique, nobody knew:

“We’ve shared information; now it’s your turn, what happened tonight?”

The Church’s Circle Sorcerers readily shared the easily obtainable information:

“[Tyranny Club] orchestrated attacks on both Princess Margaret Anjou, as well as Duke Simir and Prince Samuel Anjou. Samuel Anjou was tackled by guards and narrowly escaped, but Duke Simir got shot in the right leg. He’s bleeding from a major artery, very dangerous, but treated promptly. The attackers left corpses with MI6 identification, though whether it’s truly them is beyond our concern.”

The MI6 wouldn’t send agents with identifiable marks, so it clearly wasn’t MI6 operatives.

Miss Sylvia nodded:

“The [Tyranny Club] and Dragon Feast Cult have information of importance on the island in the hands of two Fifth Generation Edwards. If you can obtain that, the Council is willing to trade intelligence.”

That further substantiated her identity.

The elderly man with glasses nodded, then abruptly asked:

“Are there any of your people inside the Edwards Family?”

Miss Sylvia smiled, holding the immobilized Six Rings woman’s hand:

“Take a guess.”

With a loud explosion, a golden-black vortex appeared behind her, and Shard nodded politely to the two High Ring Sorcerers before walking in first, with Miss Sylvia closely following.

More gunshots rang out in the distance, startling birds in the woods. To the north, Green Lake lay peaceful under the night, while to the south was the City of Glass. Yet in the direction of the city, black smoke rising from the fires had begun.

The silent night will not remain silent.
