Chapter 1460: Chapter 1560: The Demon’s Rules of the Ga

The "rmaid" entered the water, and the splashing icy spray soaked Shard’s entire front as he stood on the floating ice. He heard a laughter like silver bells, full of emotion and tenderness.

The demon at the shore took a step back, but felt unable to retreat further. Shard also stepped back but resisted the urge, standing his ground.

He wiped his face with his hand, hearing a woman’s laughter that made his blood boil, coming closer and closer beneath the water.

Splash~

Ripples appeared on the pitch-black water, and Shard’s gaze was uncontrollably drawn to his feet. A woman’s head with beautiful long black hair erged from the illuminated ice floe by the firelight.

Water droplets fell along skin as white as milk. Her facial features seed a blend of all the beauties Shard knew, and her violet eyes, almost identical to Luviya’s, looked at him with a smile that made his scalp tingle and soul quiver.

She seed to see right through Shard’s soul.

A strand of black hair and her lower lip were lightly bitten by white teeth. Her voice was husky, sowhat languid, yet enchanting:

"It’s been a while, interesting soul."

Even though it wasn’t the first ti Shard had seen [Desire], he still swallowed involuntarily, as if it were the first encounter, completely helpless against her otherworldly charm.

The only thing he managed was to confirm with his peripheral vision that the demon at the shore hadn’t left.

The night remained profound, and the firelight from the woods at the shore danced on the water and ice floe, also flickering on the woman’s profile. A night ablaze and a beautiful woman shouldn’t appear in the sa scene, but with [Desire] present, the burning forest added a crueler beauty to her.

She paid no attention to the demon at the shore but gazed affectionately at Shard:

"Very good, I see your arrogance. Quite nice, really quite nice."

Her voice was light, like a little brush across the skin, or like Mia gently scratching the back of one’s hand. Sothing massive moved under the ice and water, and Shard heard a tail slapping the water’s surface from an unknown location on the river:

"Hello."

After all, this ti Shard had actively summoned [Desire], so he forced himself to suppress his agitation, discomfort, and inexplicable fear to greet her.

The woman’s head in the water blood with an even more radiant smile, that seed to light up the snowy, moonless night:

"I told you, you would use that Perfu Bottle to summon . Oh, I can sll it, yes, you have a nice scent on you..."

The dainty nose, wetted, twitched a few tis, making Shard’s heart skip a few beats.

"It’s the scent of a mother dragon, a very pretty mother dragon."

Shard nodded instinctively, and at this mont, from the right side of the woman’s head, a pale right arm extended out from beneath the water’s surface.

The forefinger of that right hand extended while the other four fingers curled, then the forefinger lightly touched the side of her cheek:

"Interesting soul, is there sothing you need

for this ti?"

Shard finally shifted his gaze towards the opposite shore, and ripples appeared on the water surface. That beautiful head and hand turned towards his back as well. However, instead of rotating together as one unit, they rotated 180 degrees around their own centers.

"Oh?"

An alluring soft laugh sounded. Because Desire was no longer looking at Shard, he felt sowhat relieved.

"Madam."

The demon by the shore adjusted his stance and courteously bowed in greeting.

"So it’s you."

Her tone beca more indifferent when facing the demon.

"Madam, this is between him and ."

"Please keep your mouth shut."

She said gently, then turned her head and hand back to Shard:

"What do you want

to do for you?"

Once again lightly biting her lip:

"You can ask

for anything, yes, anything."

Shard instinctively wanted to retreat but imdiately realized he was on floating ice:

"If I ask for your help, what price must I pay?"

Her violet eyes filled with amusent, her right hand gently rested on the edge of the ice where Shard stood. Then her head suddenly pushed upwards, almost allowing Shard to see what lay beneath it, whether or not there was indeed a neck:

"If you want

to eliminate him, all you need to do is kiss . Yes, a very passionate kiss, I’ll put all my fervor into it, to show you what a kiss truly is."

The pink tongue was caught between upper and lower teeth, leaving only a hint of the tip exposed. Instinctively, Shard’s eyes wandered to those red lips. As his heart pounded violently, he quickly recited "Oh, my Mia~" in his mind to steady himself.

The cat doll was inside his chest, as if it could directly grant him strength and courage:

"No, no, I don’t have that many requests."

Shard quickly shook his head, fearing that if he dared to kiss the other, he might never be able to shake them off. Moreover, he had already prepared a thod to deal with the Demon, what he needed now was to create a favorable battle situation:

"I want to wager with it."

He pointed to the Demon across from him:

"I want to play a ga with it. Yes, a fair ga. Since it disagreed earlier, I can only ask you to help make it agree. If I win, I want the ownership of Osenfort’s soul. If I lose, I won’t leave Osenfort Estate tonight."

The terms Shard proposed were still the sa as before, and this ti, the Demon standing with its back to the firelight by the shore surprisingly agreed without hesitation:

"No problem."

"Ah, so you want

as the referee."

The woman by the ice edge said with a smile, she licked her lips and with her right hand tucked a strand of wet black hair behind her ear. The sound of dripping water, her skin near the water’s surface turned reddish due to the icy cold water, contrasting with her fair skin.

"Then, do you know what I want you to give?"

Her right hand lifted slightly, palm up, causing the part above her elbow to completely erge from the water. The naked, fair arm with perfectly even lines, seed as if it had a gentle glow by nature, and under the flas on the shore, it had a peculiar luster that almost made Shard want to bend down and take a bite.

He felt his mind spinning out of control as the Outlander realized he was uncontrollably imagining what the hollow of such a beautiful arm might look like.

"Yes, I know what you want."

Though there was no prompt, Shard understood. Despite feeling a bit of regret, he still reached into his pocket and took out the small slip he had just acquired from the Demon, regarding [Desire].

The slip floated lightly to the woman’s palm, where her hand clasped it and returned underwater, making her fair arm seem like a wriggling flesh-toned White Snake:

"Indeed, you understand what I desire."

She laughed softly and praised Shard, her voice, tinged with a hum from her throat, made the night feel increasingly warm for Shard.

"A woman with secrets is the most enchanting. So, please, refrain from probing into my matters lightly in the future."

Although she spoke with a smile, Shard undeniably detected a threat in her words.

"Goethe, you should devise the ga’s rules, you’re very good at that."

The head in the lake turned again, addressing the Demon on the shore.

The latter stared at Shard fixedly, though it was apparent it was angry, it did not seem intent on killing Shard right away:

"Yes, I’m very adept at playing intriguing gas with Mortals."

The Demon extended a finger:

"The rules are simple: the range of activity is limited to the burning forest and Osenfort Estate. I’ll draw this area into my domain, using snow, trees, fire, and stone to create a maze. So animals will be selected to enter my domain, and I will reflect myself as any one of them, waiting in the depths of the maze for you. You have an hour to navigate the maze and catch , but you can only point

out once."

"As part of the fair ga’s rules, Goethe won’t alter the setup once the ga begins, nor can the animal form hide or flee using instincts beyond natural behavior. And, you intriguing Spirit, you cannot eliminate other animals to remove suspicion, nor can you fly in the maze. But otherwise, you may employ any ans."

The woman in the lake said gently, and Shard nodded, the rules indeed seed fair. The Stone Mirror Demon: Goethe, was known for using the stone mirror of its body to reflect various forms. However, without imposing ans limitations, Shard, as a Five-Ring Sorcerer, had his thods for identifying the different animal.

The question of whether either side would employ skills beyond the stipulated rules depends on each other’s abilities.

"Would you like

to give you so hints?"

Amidst the sound of splashing water, the beautiful woman’s head laughed as she asked:

"For a price, I can offer you a clue about the answer, it’s very important to you. For instance, would you like to taste my flesh again? Or how about a kiss on the back of my hand? This wouldn’t count as cheating in the ga because I am the referee, after all."

The Demon on the shore remained silent, and Shard quickly shook his head, while [Desire] lanted softly in a voice that was hard to resist feeling sympathy for:

"It seems my Charm still can’t sway you. Very well, after your ga concludes, rember to say goodbye to

by the lake. I know, you still hope to obtain sothing else from ."

She winked at Shard, those beautiful purple eyes really resembled Luviya’s:

"The ga begins once Goethe’s Demon Domain is complete. After the ga starts, and until its Termination, you are not allowed to inflict direct harm on each other."

She emphasized "direct," paused briefly, and then announced:

"Then, let us begin."
