As for the Evil God’s physical attacks, Malin was feeling increasingly at ease—the power of the World Tree was systematically transforming this semi-plane, and as a desolate Evil God, the one before him was utterly unable to draw power from this world.

The only regret was that he had tricked Ails—the sect’s history was too long, with historical gaps, and even the divinity of the Evil God was not clearly understood, rembering only that he was an Evil God who had once destroyed a region.

The divinity of wasteland and destruction was not exactly advantageous for Ails.

Fortunately, the World Tree Sapling was connected to the mother tree, which directly transford this semi-plane.

Having lost the ho field advantage, and facing the pure Positive Energy of the World Tree, the power of this Evil God beca increasingly unsustainable, and ultimately, he knelt on the ground.

The branches of the World Tree surged forward, tightly entwining him.

Malin, holding his longsword, walked toward him.

"All of this shall co to an end, there is an end to suffering, an end to pain,"

Malin mused.

The Evil God struggled, but it couldn’t stop Malin’s advance.

The land beneath his feet was already full of greenery, the distant city walls were covered with branches, and even further away, giant tree shadows erged.

"ntor, I have co to see you on your final journey," Malin said with a smile, standing behind the Evil God, raising his longsword.

The branches lowered the Evil God’s head, exposing its neck.

There are no Immortals or Emperors in this world, nor does it rely on any Saviors.

For so reason, Malin humd a song lyric and then laughed at himself in a self-deprecating way.

The longsword fell, slicing through the Evil God’s shell.

In that instant, Malin seed to hear the voice of his ntor thanking him, and as he watched the Evil God’s shell ultimately dragged into the void by the World Tree’s branches, Malin drove his longsword into the ground.

"We have completed your command, Your Excellency."

The remaining Skeleton guards, under the leadership of their captain, knelt before Malin in a knightly salute.

"You are granted freedom."

Malin looked at them.

These indomitable souls began to fade away, their skeletons scattering on the ground, slowly sinking into the surface.

Ails was dragged by the branches to appear before Malin.

"Dear Mr. Malin, could you have them lighten their grip?"

"You are free," Malin said, so the branches let go.

Ails imdiately stood up and, like a gentleman, lifted Malin’s hand to kiss the ring on his ring finger.

"You are too great, that was an Evil God after all."

"History stands on my side, and then there’s this,"

Malin tossed the divine core to Ails.

The latter was silent for a while, and eventually threw it aside.

The divine core bounced once or twice upon landing, and then transford into a golden cake, which was rolled up by the branches and presented before Ails.

Malin finally smiled, "You’re recognized by the World Tree, Mr. Ails, that’s your spoils of war now."

"Wow, this is the best gift I’ve ever received in my long life."

Ails appeared very happy, holding the golden cake to his mouth for a bite, and then seed to smile with great pleasure.

Malin nodded, "Yes, it’s been a long ti, almost seven centuries since your first bed-wetting incident."

Upon hearing this, Ails chanically turned his head to look at Malin.

"What did I just say?"

"I’ve heard the story of you and that Dwarf princess, and I must say you are quite the straight shooter—she even begged you to take her with you, why did you abandon her?"

"She had a beard! A beard longer than that embarrassing Great Demon’s! And she sweated a lot under her arms!"

The Lich clutched its skull with both hands.

Malin pointed a finger at Ails.

"I know what you want to say! Yes, I discriminated!"

Ails scread.

"No, I was going to ask how you knew about the sweat under her arms," Malin said, shaking his head as he looked at Ails, who was caught in a scream of despair, and decided not to continue the story about him and the Half-human boy that should not be told.

At that mont, Malin’s four tender branches broke through the soil, returning to his forearms.

"Right... this semi-plane..." Malin turned his head to look at the world, realizing it was already teeming with life.

"I’m giving it to you, but don’t go spreading around what you’ve heard," Ails said, suddenly no longer screaming.

"No problem, little Ails," Malin said, borrowing the endearing nickna ’Little Ails’ that the story’s Sister Lin Jing used for Ails.

The Lich fell into another bout of despairing screams.

Malin shook his head while turning away, prompted by the sensation of being watched.

He saw a young man who smiled at him.

He bore a striking resemblance to a young Hoffman.

Malin watched him walk away into the distance; at that mont, the city walls vanished and Malin saw an endless adow.

A young woman approached and took his hand.

Malin noticed her appearance, she looked like... Sophia?

But she didn’t speak, instead walking into the distance with Hoffman.

Malin quietly watched the scene until in front of the pair, more and more figures appeared.

Squinting, Malin couldn’t recognize who they were, only seeing that they made welcoming gestures.

Then it all disappeared, and the city walls reappeared.

A sowhat lancholic Malin reached out to pat Ails, who was still muttering.

"What is it?"

"I’ll call you next ti there’s work, the soul of Chaos should serve you well," Malin declared.

"Should I say it has been a pleasure working together?"

"Of course, Ails," Malin replied, and branches burst from the ground, opening a portal for the new lord of this semi-plane.

Malin glanced at Ails, "Where are you planning to go?"

"To Mark City, for a drink to calm my nerves," Ails replied while lifting his robe and placing the divine golden cake in the spatial bag fixed to his pelvis.

...Liches truly are interesting Undead creatures.

Malin mused and then walked through the portal.
