Seles Departnt of Internal Affairs, underground interrogation room.

The room is rely ten square ters in size, with walls completely covered in thick steel plates with no windows in sight.

A lone hanging light dangles from the ceiling, its glass bulb emitting a ghastly white light.

Ronan sat in a heavy steel chair, facing the cold interrogation table.

At this mont, his wrists and ankles were locked in a pair of ancient bronze shackles.

These shackles were not ordinary instrunts of punishnt but special Extraordinary Equipnt, engraved with nurous runes on their surface, capable of firmly binding a Transcendent’s powers.

A powerful superpower being, whether a Spellcaster or a Transcendent Warrior, would be rendered useless once shackled.

No longer posing any threat.

Such alchemical equipnt is undoubtedly precious, but to the Departnt of Internal Affairs, it’s nothing.

For the Invia Departnt of Internal Affairs is a major departnt directly under the kingdom’s Cabinet, with great power and a powerful ard force with independent command.

Including a group of elite Transcendents loyal to the kingdom!

It is said that the underground prison of the Departnt of Internal Affairs is a nightmare for countless Transcendents; once captured and imprisoned here, there’s no escape!

Ronan had just been brought from the Fourth Precinct to the interrogation room here.

Bang!

A stack of thick docunts was heavily slapped on the table, interrupting Ronan’s thoughts.

Investigator Jenkins from the Departnt of Internal Affairs appeared in front of him once again.

The dark green eyes of this man in black flickered with a cruel glint, akin to a wild cat that caught a mouse, pondering how to toy with and tornt its prey.

The investigator sat down opposite Ronan.

He did not imdiately interrogate Ronan but took out a cigarette and lighter from his pocket.

"Would you like one?"

Ronan shook his head, rejecting the unkind offer.

Jenkins didn’t mind, lighting the cigarette for himself and suddenly blowing a big smoke ring towards Ronan.

White smoke collided with Ronan’s face and dispersed.

Jenkins sneered, saying, "Deputy Sheriff Ronan, is there anything you wish to say?"

After pausing for a mont, he reminded: "Before you answer, I must remind you that you are the three hundred and seventy-ninth Transcendent suspect I have interrogated."

"Not one could withstand my interrogation; many had tough bones until I crushed their bones one by one, then they confessed truthfully, suffering in vain."

"And soone like you..."

The Departnt of Internal Affairs Investigator gazed at Ronan with a hint of a cunning look in his eyes: "Are quite popular when thrown to the cells below; so prisoners have been held for decades and are very hungry!"

"I think you should understand what I an."

"From now on, I ask, you answer; if any answer fails to satisfy , I will break one of your bones."

"Understand?"

Jenkins’ voice resonated in the small interrogation room, imnse malice filling the entire space.

Almost solidifying!

Ronan smiled.

It is said the Departnt of Internal Affairs is hell, even more terrifying than the old religious inquisition.

Now it seems such rumors have rit!

For soone weak-willed, not having a ntal breakdown by now would make him a fierce man.

Unfortunately, Jenkins misunderstood one thing.

Ronan was shackled and brought here for interrogation because he wanted to be.

He willingly ca, and if he wanted to leave, no one could stop him!

Upon seeing Ronan smile, Jenkins smiled too.

"I know you are a highly skilled Alchemist, young with boundless potential, and have connections with Gustav Rein."

"But it’s useless here!"

"The people I’ve interrogated, so are stronger and more significant than you. What’s an Alchemist, and how is Gustav Rein helpful? He can’t save you because this is the Departnt of Internal Affairs!"

"Apart from His Majesty, there’s no one we can’t put on trial!"

The investigator snuffed the cigarette on the table, proudly stating: "Now tell , your association with the Razor Gang..."

"No need for trouble."

Ronan directly interrupted him: "Your nonsense is too much, I can tell you, I killed everyone in the Razor Gang, including Morpheus ndett, and I set the fire at the Edman Shipyard."

"I’ve already found Balder Eddy, and learned about nurous royal nobles colluding with the Bloodkin, using the flesh and blood of countless innocents to concoct Life Elixirs."

"So now, what else do you want to know?"

Jenkins was silent.

Yet his inner state was far from calm, churning tumultuously.

He knew a little about the secrets of the Life Elixirs.

But that was enough to understand how forbidden this matter was, and what storm it could stir once exposed, potentially causing unrest in the kingdom.

For centuries, the Bloodkin have been humanity’s big enemies, the war between them has never ceased, only shifting from being overt to covert, unknown to common people.

Even if Seles’ upper nobility have great power, should word get out about their heinous deeds, the whole kingdom might face global condemnation!

Even other nations surely have nobles colluding with the Bloodkin.

This matter must not be exposed!

Most alarming to Jenkins was knowing every word exchanged with Ronan, including the interrogation scene, was being transmitted to the next room.

Where high-level mbers of the Departnt of Internal Affairs sat!

"Nonsense!"

Jenkins suddenly shouted fiercely: "Ronan Raymond, do you think using this thod can absolve you?"

Cold murderous intent filled the eyes of the Departnt of Internal Affairs investigator.

Initially, Jenkins considered Ronan a valuable target, confident in extracting significant benefits.

He even dread of permanently controlling this young Alchemist for his own gain.

But now Jenkins had no such thoughts, wishing only for Ronan to die imdiately, die, die, die, die!

To prevent him from revealing more terrifying secrets!

The investigator’s right hand spread its five fingers wide, and a sharp little dagger slid from his sleeve.

This was a Flaying Knife with extraordinary characteristics.

Also Jenkins’ favorite tool, upon which he devised over a hundred different ways to use it.

The blade flashed, lightning-fast, aid at Ronan’s throat.

Realizing he too was about to fall into a massive vortex, the investigator made the most decisive choice of his life, striking without hesitation, gathering all his strength!
