The plane landed smoothly at this southern airport, C Province. This city was not unfamiliar to He Da, but it gave him a feeling as if everything had changed over ti.
This city was one of He Zhilan’s hotowns, and in a way, his own as well. He thought he would never set foot here again in his lifeti, yet unexpectedly, he ca back.
"He Da, does your foot hurt? There are a lot of people at the airport. Stay close to ; we’re not in a hurry, so take your ti." As soon as she saw the crowd, Chen Ning was like a mother hen wanting to spread her wings to protect him. As she spoke, her sharp eyes scanned the surroundings, not looking for acquaintances, but worried that playful children might bump into He Da.
"I’m not that fragile." He Da was still a bit unaccustod to being supported while walking. He turned to look at the nervous face of Chen Ning and smiled, saying, "Don’t do this; if your parents see, they might think I need you to hold even to walk."
Chen Ning looked up and gave He Da a big smile, as bright and dazzling as sumr sunlight.
She understood He Da’s feelings, mostly worried that her parents might really misunderstand and think he couldn’t take care of her, thus disagreeing with their relationship. So, Chen Ning released her hold on He Da but felt as happy as if she’d eaten honey.
Speaking of character, Chen Ning had heard before that He Da’s brother, He Teng, was rather taciturn, but after getting to know He Da, she discovered that compared to He Teng, He Da was even more reserved when interacting with her.
"If you et my parents later, don’t worry; they’re very easy to get along with." Chen Ning thought for a mont and reassured He Da. Although he hadn’t said it, she could sense that he was a bit nervous.
He hmd, glancing at Chen Ning.
Because he wore a prosthetic leg, his walking speed was slower than normal, but fortunately, his slow pace didn’t betray his leg condition. Others just assud he had a habit of walking slowly.
Chen Ning was definitely an impatient person; seeing her unhurriedly and patiently accompanying him while vigilantly watching their surroundings ward He Da’s heart.
Having endured hardships for those years, He Da refused to rely settle for the rest of his life. Hence, when he reencountered Chen Ning, he had always thought he would spend his later years alone.
Chen Ning was indeed the greatest surprise and miracle of his life.
Reflecting on the comnts and actions of relatives and townspeople who claid to be concerned about him, saying things behind his back because of his disability, as a man, looking at Chen Ning beside him, He Da truly felt like a marginalized person making a grand coback.
"Is that your parents?" He Da had good eyesight and imdiately noticed a couple not far away, scanning the surroundings.
The couple stood out in the airport. Even though they were middle-aged, their presence together evoked the phrase "perfect match."
He Da had seen photos of Chen Ning’s parents at her place. It wasn’t just that he had a good mory, but knowing they were his future in-laws, he made a special effort to rember their faces. Besides, they were easy to rember since Chen Ning’s features bore a resemblance to her parents.
