Not making you too hard to swallow I hope? If you’d like to eat at ho, I can try making other dishes, or, we can hire a maid to cook what you love.”
“Hire a maid then,” Ding Jinshi finally responded, “The house is too big, soone needs to clean. Don’t expect to do it.”
“Haha.” Hearing this, Ding Long laughed, “I didn’t expect you to. I certainly know how much you dislike cleaning. I rember back when you were in high school, there was a day I visited your ho, and I truly saw how ‘personalized’ your room was.”
Ding Jinshi looked at Ding Long with indifference, curling her lips sarcastically, “Ding Long, not everyone in this world stays the sa.”
Ding Long’s laughter abruptly stopped. He nodded, “Yes, people do change.” His tone carried a touch of sentint, “Just like how you used to joke with without a care, now you seem like an enemy in opposition to . I also rember you used to love to laugh. A single joke could make you laugh for a long ti. In the past, you hated the sll of cigarettes and disliked heavy drinkers. But now, you’ve beco what you most despised—you can’t be without a cigarette, and you’re addicted to liquor.”
“Ding Long, you’re so ridiculous. Do you think you know well?” Ding Jinshi turned her head to look at him, “Do you intend to criticize my past and present here? Or do you plan to control even my smoking and drinking?”
“Yes.” Ding Long answered earnestly, “I won’t smoke or drink anymore either.”
“That’s your business, nothing to do with .” Ding Jinshi withdrew her gaze and picked at the small portion of rice in her bowl, clearly having no appetite.
“Of course it concerns you, because we need to have a child. Smoking and drinking are bad for health and will affect us having a child.” Ding Long said, “So, you’d better not let catch you smoking and drinking behind my back, Jinshi. For the sake of having a healthy child, we can supervise each other.”
Ding Jinshi’s face turned ashen, and she looked at Ding Long incredulously, “You’re crazy! I will never have a child! And even less for you! My life, Ding Jinshi’s life, is already a nightmare. I must be insane to bring a child into my nightmare!”
Saying this, Ding Jinshi put down her chopsticks, said, “I have no appetite, take your ti eating. I’m tired and will go back to the room first.”
Ding Long watched as Ding Jinshi fled upstairs as if escaping, his heart sinking bit by bit.
He couldn’t help but think, if at this mont it were Lan Li suggesting a child to her, she would probably happily nod and agree, looking forward to having a child with Lan Li, wouldn’t she?
