"You don’t need to wait. Don’t worry, I’ll drive myself ho after work." With that, Ding Jinshi hung up the phone directly.
Ding Long raised his eyebrows but still drove to Ding Jinshi’s workplace. He waited at the entrance for a long ti without seeing Ding Jinshi co down. Only then did he get out of the car, phone in hand, ready to go in and find her. However, he was stopped at the entrance; without a pass or permission from soone inside, he couldn’t get in.
Ding Long cursed internally, realizing he had forgotten that Ding Jinshi’s workplace was governnt property, not sowhere he could enter at will.
Standing downstairs, he dialed Ding Jinshi’s phone once more and said directly, "I’m downstairs, co down and let in."
"Are you crazy! I already told you I’m working overti!" Ding Jinshi spat out angrily but quietly, though in truth there was nothing that urgently required her to work late. She was simply unsure of how to pass the ti.
"Even when working overti, you still have to eat, right? You can’t possibly not have ti for dinner. Or should I invite Zhou Chenyue out to join you for dinner?" This sentence clearly carried a hint of threat.
Infuriated, Ding Jinshi threw the phone into her bag before bidding farewell to a few colleagues and heading downstairs.
At the entrance of her workplace, Ding Jinshi saw Ding Long waiting in front of the car. She walked over and said, "Ding Long, don’t ever get Zhou Chenyue involved in anything! I’ve already married you. You’ve done whatever you wanted to. Could you please stop bothering Zhou Chenyue?"
"Alright." Ding Long agreed with a smile. "What do you want for dinner tonight? Or have you changed your mind about working overti and are thinking of going ho to cook, which would be best."
"Despicable!" Ding Jinshi knew Ding Long didn’t believe her excuse about working overti. She said coldly, "Sorry, Ding Long, the wife you’ve married is not the dutiful homaker who will cook for you!"
"Then, congratulations, Mrs. Ding. You’ve married a husband who cooks for his wife." Ding Long’s lips curled. "Co on, get in my car to go ho. I’ll have soone drive yours back directly."
"No need!" Ding Jinshi spat out the three words and walked directly to her car, saying, "I don’t want to go to that place, don’t want to eat your cooking. I’ll just grab sothing casual outside."
"Ding Jinshi, I should remind you that the place you refer to is our ho, and since you won’t cook, you’ll eventually have to eat my food." Ding Long said with a forced smile.
Ding Jinshi didn’t respond or make a sound. She just glanced at Ding Long and then got into her car, started it up, and drove towards the Ding Family ho.
Seeing this, Ding Long raised an eyebrow and returned to his car, following closely behind hers all the way.
Once inside the house, Ding Jinshi went straight upstairs. But upon reaching the stairs, she suddenly turned around, speaking seriously to Ding Long, "I’m informing you, from now on I won’t answer your calls. Don’t call again!"
Ding Long furrowed his brow, and before he could say anything, Ding Jinshi had already gone upstairs, slamming the door shut.
The kitchen ingredients had been delivered by Ding Long’s people in the morning. As for cooking, Ding Long wasn’t very skilled, but having been in the military for many years, he could manage food that was edible. After Ding Jinshi went upstairs and never ca down, Ding Long didn’t push her; instead, he busied himself alone in the kitchen wearing an apron.
