The selfish intention is there as well, hoping to kill two birds with one stone, and temporarily give the Gu Family so peace.
"He Teng, I’ve been to your hotown. I heard from your folks about things between you and Zhilan when you were kids. Zhilan was just eighteen, just graduated from high school when you two got married. The locals said that Zhilan didn’t want to marry you at all back then; it was the He Family that forced her to marry you." Gu Hengyuan was sowhat heartbroken, their daughter was forced to marry soone at eighteen, marrying He Teng, who was just a small-ti leader back then.
He Teng was exactly nine years older than He Zhilan! If at that ti the Gu Family had already found their biological daughter, they would never have agreed to this marriage.
"Zhilan didn’t want to back then, but now my wife and I are doing very well. That’s the outco, Chief Gu, your accusations are useless to . All I know is I love my wife, my wife loves too, we are living happily together. If it weren’t for the Gu Family, my wife and I would have had kids already. If it weren’t for the Gu Family, my wife would still be by my side, not separated from by life and death, never to be seen again in this lifeti!"
The first marriage between He Teng and He Zhilan, indeed, was not a good mory for either of them. Looking back, He Teng does not regret it.
If they hadn’t been bound together from the start, how would he have ever known that one day, he couldn’t live without He Zhilan, or that one day, He Zhilan would love him so much?
The beginning may not have been beautiful, but in the days that followed, the two of them stumbled, and after many years of trials, aren’t they now living harmoniously and lovingly?
"Chief Gu, you know very well how much my wife resented your family. In her heart, the He Family was her ho. She didn’t care how luxurious or prestigious the Gu Family’s ancestral tomb was, just as when she was alive, she didn’t care how grand the status of being Gu Zhilan was. I absolutely will not let her leave her hotown to enter your Gu Family’s ancestral tomb! She is my wife, He Zhilan, not your daughter, Gu Zhilan!"
After saying this, He Teng slamd the phone forcefully, hanging up.
Probably still furious, he sat in his chair, eyes glaring at the phone, swearing, "Get lost!"
Standing at the doorway, Commissioner Chen happened to hear those three words, paused mid-step, and was stunned.
Hearing the noise, He Teng looked towards the door and quickly stood up when he saw Commissioner Chen. Noticing his odd expression, he quickly explained, "Commissioner, I wasn’t talking about you, I was talking about it." He Teng pointed at the phone.
Commissioner Chen raised an eyebrow, then stepped inside, smiling, "Did the person on the call upset you just now? Why so angry? I thought you were telling to get lost."
"Gu Hengyuan! Wants to move my wife’s grave to the Gu Family’s ancestral tomb. Do you think I should tell him to get lost?" He Teng snorted and then asked, "Commissioner, what brings you here?"
Commissioner Chen nodded, "I do have sothing to discuss. Let’s sit down and talk."
After sitting down, Commissioner Chen spoke again, "He Teng, you still seem unhappy lately? Your wife has passed, you shouldn’t dwell on it. Even if you do, she won’t co back, right? If Zhilan knew how much you’re pining for her, she wouldn’t rest in peace."
"Those brats complained to you?" He Teng raised an eyebrow, "Giving them extra als was for their own good! I don’t want them going out on solitary missions and ending up coming back under the national flag in sha!"
