The two male Dryadalis gasped and took a step back in fear, as if being in the sa room as would result in a mating. I an, it’s not like I can say that it has never happened, but I think my genes would have picked better specins.

"Don’t worry, you will not be chosen," chuckled Da’kea, speaking for the first ti since we entered the room.

I watched the two males in front of looking at each other while coming up with a new plan. Was I still going to be killed for the ’betternt of all?’ It would be interesting to know where they stood. Unfortunately for them, no matter what plan they ca up with, I would still have a better one.

"We are not going to be put in the sa situation as before," grunted Orzoth, finally making a decision. He nodded at his second, and before anyone could react, the laser blaster fired a beam toward .

I smiled as I held up my hand, making sure that Da’kea and Tha’juen didn’t move. They knew that this would be a possibility, and I had warned them beforehand not to interfere.

As predicted, my earrings flashed once, and the beam ant for was imdiately shot back to the male with the gun in his hand.

I let out a low chuckle as Orzoth stood up in fear, as his second dropped to the floor.

"Too bad," I said with yet another sigh. It would be really nice if people just stopped disappointing all of the ti. "Then again, I guess it was the best possible outco for him. He got an easy death."

Orzoth turned to look at . The pure rage that appeared on his face might have scared soone who knew him, but I just found it funny. "My original plan was to send you to Princess, but she doesn’t like to eat things that are already dead. My girl prefers to do her own hunting."

There was no reaction from the Dryadalis male, not like I was expecting one. I didn’t know if his grief was because he lost his second or his lover, but either way, it didn’t really involve in the least. If he thought he was going to get revenge, then he had another thing coming.

I wanted my revenge first. Maybe in his next life, he would manage to succeed in getting his revenge, but not in this one.

"Princess is my Istar queen," I explained to him as if he had replied to my previous comnt. Standing up, I strolled from my chair at the other side of the desk to the one he had just vacated. I looked down at the very standard office chair; I let out a snort of disbelief.

Seriously. Don’t they understand that just by being aliens from outer space, they needed cooler office furniture?

I was going to take a seat in his chair, but the very idea of sitting in sothing that he was just in turned my stomach.

Then again, a lot of things turned my stomach right now.

I pushed him down so that he was seated, and I perched on the edge of his desk. Leaning forward, I studied the male.

"You have done a lot of things that you shouldn’t have," I said softly. Twisting around, I grabbed what looked to be a laptop and opened it for him.

He looked between and the device in my hands and jumped slightly when Jun Li’s human face appeared on screen.

"Are you ready for ?" he asked, looking up at the corner of the screen as if he could see .

Orzoth gulped and followed Jun Li’s gaze.

"Always," I assured the AI. "Oh, and you don’t have to worry about Stargazer in your system anymore. Jun Li has taken over, and I assure you, he is much better at managing things than either Pippa or Stargazer ever were."

All of a sudden, the screen blinked, and fifteen smaller windows appeared.

"Oh, who are these?" I asked as if I didn’t have a clue. I was sure that the smile on my face told a completely different story, though.

Orzoth gulped but otherwise didn’t make a sound.

"He is hitting a panic button," said Jun Li from the overhead speakers. Orzoth paled once again and looked up at the ceiling as if he could see Jun Li. "You would think that after pressing it 18 tis and no one coming, he would understand that it wasn’t working."

"I an, you could let the guards in," I said with a shrug. "But then Orzoth would be calling them in here to die, and that would be a an thing to do. Or did you forget that I ca with two Saalistaja that you could see?" I leaned forward until my mouth was right beside the pointed ear of the Dryadalis. "And one that you couldn’t."

The look of pure panic made laugh, and I could see the pulse in his neck beating frantically.

"Now, where were we?" I asked, turning my attention back to the screens. "Ah yes, your friends. Do you know what you are going to see? Should I tell you?"

Orzoth frantically started shaking his head, making chuckle again. Awe, this guy was really quite amusing when he wanted to be.

"One of the biggest components of my plan to take down the Alliance was to use the Hive and assassinate everyone in a position of authority at the sa ti. With them dead, I could dissolve the Alliance without any fuss. But you know what they say about plans."

I wrinkled my nose. I was still a bit pissed that the Hive queen hadn’t agreed to work with , but that was her prerogative.

Mine was to kill as many people as I could right now.

What could I say? I woke up from my nap feeling particularly cute and stabby.

The fact that Raguk slled like another female was enough to make see red. But I was reasonable. I listened to his excuse and agreed that since he fed her to Princess, he was off the hook. But that didn’t an I didn’t want to see blood spilled today.
