Chapter 1300: Chapter 1305: Harvester

Azar, to be fair, only possessed the most basic qualities necessary for a spy. Although he managed to stand out in the vast abyss of the Shah Intelligence Bureau, in Anton’s eyes, this guy was just a hair’s breadth away from being an idiot.

Joking aside, as a world-stirring organization, their leader was captured; how could they not desperately keep secrets and block information? How could they let Azar and Anton relay the news?

Even if Baghdadi ultimately died, that would be a matter to discuss after his death, not to ntion that Baghdadi might not even be dead yet.

That’s why Anton wouldn’t waste words, to avoid the embarrassnt of refusal from the Viper, which was secondary; what mattered was provoking the Viper, who might actually lock them up, which would be troubleso, even more so if they were silenced forever.

Anton didn’t join Azar in making any unreasonable demands. He simply faced the Viper with a calm expression and said, “I don’t need rest. If you don’t want to hear my suggestions, can you allow to be a quiet observer? Because… there are so things I only trust my own eyes for.”

The Viper glanced at Anton twice, intending to refuse, but ultimately said, “We will definitely get Baghdadi out of there.”

The Viper stood silently in front of the map. He consented to Anton and Azar remaining because Anton’s words made sense: if Baghdadi died and then ISIS claid he didn’t, such a situation could always happen. To have Anton believe Baghdadi was really rescued, Anton needed to be an observer.

Anton whispered, “Have negotiations been made? Regardless of success, first give the other side a psychological hint that talks are still possible so that Baghdadi can be sowhat safer.”

The Viper glanced at Anton and then whispered, “I’ve sent people. I requested negotiations, but our envoy was directly killed by them.”

Anton took a deep breath and said, “Very troubleso, this is very troubleso; it seems their attitude is very firm.”

The Viper remained silent once more, then suddenly shouted, “Ibrahim!”

A man in a black robe replied solemnly, “What?”

“Have people launch a new round of attacks, starting with grenades. Everyone, have everyone throw grenades into the mosque as much as possible to inflict casualties on the enemies inside, without insisting on breaking into the main hall.”

Ibrahim looked baffled and appeared sowhat angry. Then he shouted, “What’s the use of this! What good is just throwing grenades inside, I…”

“Shut up!”

The Viper appeared sowhat enraged, glaring at Ibrahim, and said solemnly, “Throwing grenades because the range and power of the grenades cannot harm Baghdadi. However, by throwing enough grenades, we can certainly inflict damage on the people inside. We need to gradually weaken the enemy’s combat strength, understand?”

“You’re sending my n to their deaths! I…”

The Viper suddenly and swiftly drew his gun again, almost shooting straight into Ibrahim’s disgruntled forehead.

Anton stepped aside, flicking a piece of brain matter stuck to his face with his finger.

“He didn’t get it.”

After speaking indifferently to Anton and the others, the Viper spoke with a tone suppressing his anger, “But I hope you understand, now I am in command here! Since there is no one here who knows how to fight, and I am very good at fighting, then you better fucking listen to !”

After slamming his fist hard on the table, the Viper did not put away his gun. He directly addressed the remaining people, “Now! Who the fuck is willing to take their n to throw grenades! Fuck!”

“I’ll go!”

“Good, very good, throw as many as you can, front and back doors, throw them with force. Go.”

A man in a black robe went out. The Viper took a deep breath, then holstered his gun in his waist, shaking his head as he said, “I think it might be best if I go take a look.”

Anton imdiately said, “Can I follow and take a look? I’ll just watch without speaking.”

“You’ve said enough, brother, but you can co and watch.”

The Viper suddenly switched to French and said to Anton, “There’s only fools here, only fools. If you can understand French, I can have a sensible exchange, no, even if just having a smart observer is better than being surrounded by a bunch of damned idiots a thousand tis over!”

Anton replied in French, “I completely agree with you.”

The Viper nodded, pointed at Anton, and said, “Very well, then co along.”

The Viper brought only one person; Anton followed him. They climbed onto the rooftop. While handing Anton binoculars, the Viper whispered, “Be careful, the enemy’s sniper is very skilled. I’ve already lost a sniper.”

Anton said solemnly, “We can’t rely on these people. I hope you have a secret weapon, I know you have a secret weapon, but I don’t know if it’s in Mosul.”

“It is.”

The Viper said nonchalantly, raising his binoculars, and whispered, “It’s starting.”

Anton also lifted his binoculars.

The sight surprised Anton because, for many years, he hadn’t seen such a scene of bodies strewn about. The square at the front of the mosque’s main gate was fanned out with bodies, so nurous that they were piled upon each other, especially at the main entrance of the hall, where bodies were stacked.

Anton whispered, “You should arrange for the bodies to be cleared; otherwise, affecting the attack is minor, but it greatly impacts morale.”

“Those idiots don’t care; they’re not afraid of death. I left the bodies hoping soone inside would co out to replenish ammunition.”

Anton thought about it and said, “That’s possible.”

The two said nothing more, just watched as hundreds of people slowly approached the front and back doors of the mosque from both sides. Then, after an order was given, they all rushed towards the doors, simultaneously throwing grenades inside.

Without a doubt, the Viper was using these people as cannon fodder.

But Anton was still extrely surprised at the rate at which these cannon fodder fell.

The palace doors of the Lal Javade Mosque were like a harvester, with the cannon fodder approaching the gates akin to the stalks at the entrance of a harvester, falling in rows.

“Throw from the side, throwing grenades doesn’t have to be done at the doorstep…”

Anton couldn’t help but say, but the Viper coldly replied, “It’s not entirely useless; at least it can be thrown a bit further.”

Through the binoculars, Anton could see many people’s heads exploding, the headshot rate was so high, which is extrely rare in real combat.

The number of bodies at the hall entrance grew, yet the soldiers of ISIS still bravely clambered over the bodies to launch an assault on the main entrance of the hall until the bodies accumulated to a level that could block bullets.

Anton suddenly said, “I must admit, having many bodies also has benefits, um, cannon fodder is indeed useful, very useful!”
