A convenience store with two clerks inside, everything seed normal.
As he pushed the door open and entered, Yang Yi gave a signal to Stone, who was entering sideways, to ask if the people inside were correct.
But Stone could only helplessly curl his lips, indicating he didn’t know.
Alright, a temporary operative and people from the safety house being unfamiliar with each other is quite normal. As long as they can establish contact and gain each other’s trust, they can get help. For a larger secret organization, this is standard.
Stone went in first, followed closely by Paul, and then Yang Yi and Brian.
Stone walked up to the clerk, glanced around and seeing no other custors, then whispered, "I’m here to repay Mr. Walter Lunfu, I owe him 12 cents."
The clerk just looked up at Stone and then said, "Mr. Walter Lunfu is at the back, please knock on the door."
Stone saw the small door, nodded, and walked over quickly to knock on it.
Logically speaking, there shouldn’t be any special alertness required.
Yang Yi didn’t know if the janitors had already found this place; he couldn’t see any traces. If there had been a fight here, there should be at least so evidence, but there weren’t any.
The janitors haven’t arrived yet?
Stone knocked on the small door marked "Employees Only" in the convenience store, and it imdiately opened, revealing a man’s face from behind.
Stone paused for a mont because, at this point, soone he knew or at least had seen should co out to greet him, but not this ti; he didn’t recognize the person behind the door.
"Please, co in."
After the man opened the door and said this, Stone was about to step inside, but Yang Yi following him pulled Stone back, swiftly drew a knife from his waist, and stabbed the doorman’s neck.
The doorman dodged backward, Yang Yi’s knife sliced downwards, leaving a cut on the man’s chest, then with a sidestep, his left fist shot out fiercely.
This punch hit the man’s abdon, followed quickly by another punch to his flank.
After two consecutive punches, making the opponent lose the ability to move, Yang Yi retracted the knife and then stabbed again, piercing the man’s throat directly.
Stone was a bit shocked, while Yang Yi said softly, "Retreat!"
Yang Yi looked forward but retreated quickly, pushing the door they had just opened closed.
The small door slamd shut with a loud bang, and Brian and Paul simultaneously drew guns hidden beneath their clothes.
Stone raised his handgun, shocked and unsure of whom to trust now.
Even though he ca with Yang Yi, Stone really dared not trust him, but at this mont, the two clerks had already picked up guns.
Brian reacted quickly, shooting and blasting one clerk’s head, while Paul was slower, firing but failing to kill the clerk, so the clerk fired back.
The shot hit Paul, but it didn’t matter; Paul was only hit with a bullet, and he had a bulletproof vest, whereas the clerk wearing a T-shirt was shot through.
Paul fired a second shot, actually a double shot. The first shot couldn’t disable the clerk’s firing ability, but the next shot completely took out the clerk.
Yang Yi yelled at Stone, "Quick, retreat!"
Bang bang, the glass door of the convenience store was shattered by grenade launchers, but what flew into the store weren’t high-explosive rounds, they were smoke grenades.
Thick white smoke quickly spread inside the convenience store, Stone no longer hesitated, turning to run. As he coughed and pushed open the glass door with two holes, several bullets hit him.
Stone fell down in response, yet his hand tightly gripped the door fra to prevent the glass door from closing.
Doing so could earn Yang Yi and the others behind him a little bit more ti.
Though just a little ti, it’s crucial.
"Ambushed at the safe house! I don’t know who the attackers are, I... Sea God struck first."
Though his voice was weak, Stone managed to share what he saw and heard.
Caught in battle at the safe house was already a reality, but Stone didn’t know why Yang Yi made his move. So was the safe house compromised or was Yang Yi the issue, still unknown.
However, the subsequent events quickly dispelled his doubts.
"Don’t let them escape!"
Soone shouted loudly amidst the smoke-filled convenience store with clear malicious intent.
Paul was the first to rush out of the convenience store, followed by Brian and Yang Yi.
At this mont, gunshots erupted from a little distance away from the convenience store, allowing Brian and the others to dash out of the store and grab Stone to desperately flee together.
Luckily, arrangents were made for backup before entering the store. This was Yang Yi’s intention to express, so he shouted urgently, "Cover! Cover us!"
Stone Statue and Black Jack opened fire continuously, Reggie stood beside Stone Statue, astounded by everything happening.
Finally, soone flanked around from both sides of the convenience store, only two of them, but one shot, just one shot hit the desperately running Paul.
Paul stumbled and fell to the ground, but thankfully, Stone Statue and Black Jack’s cover was fast, effective, and powerful.
Now Stone could see clearly since he knew that the people charging out of the convenience store were definitely not his backup. Without needing to see their faces clearly, he only needed to know that soone from the safety house had co out to attack them, that’s enough.
Thus, still being dragged by Yang Yi and Brian, Stone weakly said again, "The safe house is compromised, we’ve been ambushed, repeat, ambushed at the safe house, exposed, utterly failed."
Yang Yi and Brian exchanged a glance, now Stone was useless.
Brian released Stone and went to drag Paul, while Yang Yi continued dragging Stone as he ran. At this ti, another shot rang out from inside the convenience store.
Running, in the midst of battle, to accurately hit the intended target while avoiding hitting those who shouldn’t be shot, this demand is really high.
