Hank, as if pardoned, dashed towards the toilet, and the way he hurried over in small, fast steps was sohow comical.
Yang Yi laughed out loud without restraint.
After Hank finished using the toilet, Yang Yi pulled out a cigarette and threw it to Hank, then laughed, “Here’s your reward.”
“Thank you, boss, thank you, boss!”
Hank received the cigarette, nodding and bowing as he took the lighter from Yang Yi’s hand, then cupped both hands around it to light it before promptly returning the cigarette to Yang Yi.
Taking a deep drag of the cigarette, Hank said with a blissful expression, “I haven’t smoked for nine days, thank you, boss.”
Yang Yi glanced at the shackles on Hank’s feet and said, “Why haven’t they taken these off?
That’s not legal, right?”
“It’s not legal, but what can I do?
Who told my escape was successful.”
“Can you open them?”
Hank sighed, then sat down on the ground in front of Yang Yi, cigarette dangling from his mouth, pointing to the keyhole on the shackles and said, “Look, it’s sealed with lead, so I can’t open it.”
