Chapter 89: Eighty-eight, scared Chapter 89: Eighty-eight, scared Lin Yu received a call from Zhao Ji and then left the courtyard to et him at the designated spot.

Seeing Zhao Ji with a face full of injuries, Lin Yu was taken aback for a mont, “How did you get hurt like this?”

“I got beaten up, by that little girl you asked to deal with. She had a ssage for you, said she would co find you,” Zhao Ji couldn’t help but shiver at the thought of Luo Shu. Even if he had ten tis the courage, he wouldn’t dare to provoke Luo Shu again, she was just too ruthless!

“She did this? Alone?” Lin Yu asked in surprise. Zhao Ji, a street thug, how could he possibly be beaten by a feeble young girl? There must have been soone else helping.

“Two people, but only she moved. Sss!” As Zhao Ji spoke, he carelessly touched his face injury, causing him to gasp in pain. He was lucky that only Luo Shu had attacked him, if that man had also made a move, would he still be alive now?

Lin Yu frowned, “Is she really that formidable?”

“Why would I lie to you! I don’t know what Luo Shu did behind my back, but it was like I was possessed, my head wasn’t under my control at all. Whatever she asked, I answered, I couldn’t even keep silent if I wanted to, isn’t that terrifying?” Zhao Ji said with lingering fear. It was the most frightening because his brain was clear, but his mouth was out of control.

“You’re not trying to scare , are you?” Lin Yu swallowed hard, feeling sowhat panicked. If Luo Shu was as formidable as Zhao Ji said, wouldn’t that put her in danger? What if Luo Shu really ca looking for her?

After parting with Zhao Ji, Lin Yu hurried back toward the direction of the courtyard. That was the only safe place, and by now, she sowhat regretted having provoked Luo Shu.

Just as she turned a corner, a tall man exuding a cold aura suddenly appeared, blocking Lin Yu’s path.

Lin Yu was startled and quickly stepped back several paces, eyeing the man cautiously, “Who… who are you? What do you want?” To prevent anyone from seeing her eting with Zhao Ji, she had deliberately arranged to et in this secluded alley. Now, there wasn’t a soul around her, and even if she scread for help, it would be of no use.

“Soone wants to see you!” Fu Yi said indifferently. Before Luo Shu entered the courtyard, she had told him to wait at the gate for Lin Yu. After Lin Yu finished eting with Zhao Ji, he was to take Lin Yu to the abandoned cattle shed on the outskirts, the very place where human traffickers had kidnapped Luo Shu in the past.

“I… I’m not going! Help!” Lin Yu backpedaled a few steps, then turned around and ran.

She hadn’t run a few steps when she felt a pain in the back of her neck, followed by darkness, and then she lost consciousness.

After staying at the Mu family for a while, He Xiangyu took Mu Wan ho. She still hadn’t chosen what she and Wanwan would wear to the birthday party tonight.

“Mom, I don’t want to go,” Mu Wan said with a face full of reluctance, looking at He Xiangyu who was picking out clothes for her. She would rather watch TV or read at ho than attend a banquet. Social engagents were her least favorite.

“How can we not go? Your Aunt Xuei has been talking about you non-stop! She’ll be unhappy if you don’t go. What do you think of this dress?” He Xiangyu picked up a high-necked red sweater dress and waved it in front of Mu Wan.

“It’s okay, I guess,” Mu Wan replied listlessly. Anyway, she wasn’t the main focus; dressing appropriately would be enough.

“Really, child! Go on, try it for mom, quick!” He Xiangyu stuffed the clothes into Mu Wan’s arms and pushed her toward the washroom.

“Mom, I can walk by myself,” Mu Wan said helplessly.

Just then, the phone in the room began to ring.

“I’ll get the phone, you go and change,” He Xiangyu said, heading toward the phone.

The call had just connected when Zhou Xuei’s voice ca through, “Is Xiangyu at ho?” She thought she was speaking to the Mu family’s servant.

“Is that Xuei?” He Xiangyu laughed.

“Xiangyu, I have so great news for you, I t the divine doctor today, and she has promised to attend my birthday party tonight.”

“Really! That’s fantastic!” He Xiangyu exclaid with joy.

“When she arrives, I’ll introduce you two. You have no idea, her dical skills are truly miraculous! Even Governor Xu’s wife, who has been paralyzed for so many years, can now walk to the mall by herself. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes.”

“So, my mother-in-law’s illness could also be cured?” He Xiangyu grew more and more excited as she listened.

“Of course!”

“That’s wonderful! Should I bring so gifts for her?” She had heard that those with real talent often had peculiar temperants and wondered what the other party might like.

“Wait until she agrees to help you before you give anything. I’m busy with sothing, so let’s talk more at the party tonight.”

“Okay!” He Xiangyu hung up the phone, feeling overjoyed.

Turning around, she saw Mu Wan had already changed clothes and was smiling as she approached, “Wanwan, Mom has so great news for you. That divine doctor has agreed to Aunt Xuei, and she will also be attending Aunt Xuei’s birthday party tonight. Then, we can et her and ask her to treat Grandma.” She hadn’t asked Xuei whether the divine doctor was a man or a woman. In her mind, a divine doctor must surely be an old man with white hair and a saintly deanor.

When Luo Shu returned to the Xu family’s ho, Fu Yi was already waiting there.

“Is everything taken care of?” Luo Shu asked.

Fu Yi nodded lightly. After what happened today, his heart no longer held the aversion he had felt towards Luo Shu before; he even felt so admiration for her.

Luo Shu glanced down at the ti and turned to Zhao Aishu, “Godmother, I’m going to head back for a bit, and I’ll co over again in the evening.” Since she was to attend the birthday party, she ought to let Luo Shan and the others know, lest they worry she ran into trouble again.

Zhao Aishu nodded, “Then I’ll have Xiao Zhang take you.”

Luo Jiansen paced back and forth in front of Aunt Chen’s doorway, hesitating whether to knock or not. He had divorced Wang Liying, and due to her influence, he had been dismissed from the factory.

And lately, Second Fool’s family had been hounding him every day to repay his debts, driving him nearly insane.

Everything sellable at ho had been sold off, and now even eating had beco a problem for him. These last few days, he had been mooching als at his elder brother’s place.

But in those tis, no family was well off – one al or two was manageable, but more than that and even if his brother didn’t mind, his sister-in-law surely would. So after the first couple of days, the als at his brother’s ho grew more ager day by day. Every day it was just so thin porridge with hardly a grain of rice to be seen. A grown man like him couldn’t keep up his strength on so little.

Yet he was a little scared of Luo Shu, glancing at his arm that had only just recently healed, he sighed. If he had known he would fall on such hard tis, he would have treated Luo Shu and the others better from the start.
