While still in his hiding spot, Cole tried his best to calm his breathing and steady himself.

He wanted to make sure he was in the perfect state to record, to prevent any accident.

After about ten minutes of trying to control his breathing and actions, Cole felt he was ready.

He started by summoning the Codex into the real world. The codex appeared silently, and this ti it didn’t cause any reaction.

He then carefully activated the Empty Codex’s record ability while trying to rember all the information he had on the ability.

Upon activation, Cole felt a large suction force. It was his Life energy draining ravenously.

In correspondence to the draining Life energy, weird Letters and symbols began appearing on the empty page next to the flaming fist ability.

Slowly but surely the page was getting filled, and Cole could feel the new ability coming to life in him.

Suddenly, there was a disturbance in the Life energy flow. The recording also seed to stop.

Cole was imdiately flustered by the turns of events; he knew what was to co after this.

From his past experience, he knew this only happened when he didn’t understand the ability enough.

"I understand it though; I know I do," Cole questions internally.

He could catch tiny whiffs of burning paper slightly emanating from the book.

"Oh no no no, not again," Cole shouted.

In the monts of urgency, Cole forced his brain and pushed his mind to the limit. He tried to rember everything he knew about the ability.

Then, he rembered sothing new.

"It worked by focusing large bursts of life energy in the body."

This new realization was the final string that prevented it all from falling into the abyss.

The stopped recording slowly resud, and the burning sll vanished.

Cole’s head was covered in large beads of sweat, and he raised his hands to his pounding chest.

"That was close; that was really close," He said to himself.

Having solved the problem that was about to arise, Cole was able to lie back and watch the rest of the recording go on while his Life energy was being drained.

Cole was quite happy with the progress he has made from the first ti he recorded a new ability to now.

He didn’t almost lose consciousness this ti, though he was left extrely fatigued.

After about ten minutes more, the recording was finally done, and Cole was ready to see his newly recorded ability.

Cole checked the top of the newly occupied page to see the na of the new ability.

"Kinetic Acceleration," Cole read from the page.

"What sort of innate spirit could give soone this sort of ability?" He wondered to himself.

He was too tired to attempt to test the ability at that instant, so he could only fall back on absorbing so Life energy.

Cole utilized the world Absorbing Mantra slowly at this mont and began absorbing Life energy to refill the lost ones.

The Life energy flowed into his body with shocking fluidity, invigorating Cole as it flowed.

After about thirty minutes of absorbing, Cole felt full and active enough to actually attempt to test out the ability.

It was already nightti at the mont, but the Forest still maintained a chilling level of activity.

Cole struggled to crawl back out of his hiding spot into the open forest, but he soon managed to do so.

While getting in and even after getting out, Cole could feel his blood pumping hard with excitent, adrenaline coursing through his veins.

"Ti to test out this new ability," He said excitedly.

Willing the activation of the ability for the first ti, Cole felt Life energy flowing extrely swiftly throughout all of his body.

This resulted in a golden sheen forming under his skin as all of his body burst towards the direction he was facing.

In the blink of an eye, Cole found himself about five ters away from where he was previously standing.

The ability allows him to create a sharp acceleration that provides him a sharp burst of speed in the direction he is facing.

"Damn, that’s crazy," Cole said to himself.

"It seems to provide a sharp burst of speed in a specific direction, and the burst is as fast as the amount of Life energy I use," He analyzed.

"This matches so well with my flaming fist. It allows to get close to enemies extrely quickly." Cole said excitedly.

Cole tested the ability a few tis more, blitzing from one direction to another excitedly.

After about five blitzes, Cole felt his newly absorbed Life energy running low.

"So it takes only five usages to drain all of my Life energy,"

"It is a true two-star ability indeed; that was why it was so much harder to record and understand." He concluded.

At this mont, Cole didn’t know how thankful he would be for this decision in the future.

He was currently relishing in the joy of his new ability, forgetting all the previous dangers.

After having fun for a while, Cole finally returned back to his calm state.

"I haven’t participated at all in the Freshman Placent Test, which is the main reason I am here,"

"Two days have gone by, leaving just 5 days."

"I really need to focus; I need a very high ranking, I really do," Cole decided.

Having made that decision, Cole checked his Academic watch to see it had gotten very late into the night, so he could only rest and begin tomorrow.

Like he usually did, Cole climbed up a tree, to the highest point he could actually get to before breaking the tree and falling.

When he got there, he found a comfortable position and imdiately closed his eyes to fall asleep.

The Night flew by peacefully; nothing and nobody ca to disturb Cole’s sleep, and in no ti, it was morning again.

Cole was awakened by the sound of battle all around him. The students seed to be getting more aggressive the longer the test went on.

A smile flashed across Cole’s face as he jumped down from the tree.

"Let us get the test started," He said before dashing out.
