In the Liu Mansion,

Mo Li had gotten a text from Mo Chou saying that she and Reaper were on their way back and would reach ho soon.

She was very excited and had even cooked up a few dishes for everyone to have for lunch but there were no signs of them even after the hot dishes had turned cold.Mo Li didn’t see their car at all. At so point, It had started raining heavily and Mo Li started getting a little worried. "What if sothing happened to them? It’s raining rather heavily." Mo Li asked her husband worriedly.

"Don’t worry. They will probably be here soon." Despite Liu Qiang’s reassurance, Mo Li was still anxious. Her gut feeling was telling her that there was sothing really wrong.

In order to distract her, Liu Qiang turned the TV on to watch the news. Mo Li was just half half-heartedly listening to the news but when she heard the news anchor’s words, she imdiately sat up and focused on the TV screen.

The news anchor was reporting about the flooding and landslide on a certain hill. Rescue operations for the disaster victims were going on at the mont.

"Honey, Isn’t that the hill that we took the shortcut on the way to our house a week ago"? Mo Li asked as a bad feeling arose in her heart.

"Oh yeah, It is. But don’t worry. Those natural disasters won’t affect us. We live in the best and most secure area in the entire city" Liu Qiang rubbed his wife’s hands reassuringly.

Mo Li shook her head, "No, that’s not it. Our daughter said that she was going to arrive ho with Reaper soon. They should have been here a while ago. What if they took the shortcut and got stuck"?

Liu Qiang started getting worried as well when he heard his wife’s words. Even if they weren’t in danger, he wanted to check on them so that they could have a peace of mind.

"Let’s try calling them first".

Mo Li dialed Reaper’s number while Liu Qiang dialed Mo Chou’s. After trying multiple tis and failing to contact both of them, Mo Li started getting even more worried.

Liu Qiang wanted to make sure that both Mo Chou and Reaper were fine too, so he called his assistant and asked him to check all the CCTV caras near the hill to see if Mo Chou and Reaper had really gone that way.

Mo Li started pacing around in the living room. Both of them were still watching the news with Liu Qiang’s phone in front of them, waiting for the answer.

After a couple of minutes, Liu Qiang’s secretary called him back. Upon hearing that Reaper’s car had indeed headed towards the mountains, Mo Li imdiately fainted.

Thankfully, Liu Qiang imdiately caught his wife and gently laid her down on the sofa. He called the butler over and ordered him to call the family doctor, anwhile he started giving instructions to his secretary.

His secretary also knew that this was a serious matter and started preparing for the rescue operations.

After he was done talking to the secretary, Liu Qiang decided to call old master Liu and Liu Dai as well. They both had resources and Old master Liu had connections in the military as well.

Old Master Liu imdiately rushed over when he heard the news from his butler. Ti was of essence, especially in these kinds of situations. He started contacting anyone that could be of use.

Liu Dai also heard the news from his dad but he didn’t rush to the Liu Mansion. Although he was worried and anxious, he forced himself to shut down his feelings and think with his brain instead. Liu Dai knew that he would be of more use to supervise the rescue operations rather than sitting at ho so he found Liu Qiang’s secretary who was preparing everything and took over instead.

No matter what everyone was determined to bring Mo Chou and Reaper ho safe and sound.

***

Mo Chou was extrely thankful of the fact that she had strengthened her body as she struggled in the water.

She would have had no chance of surviving if she had not been constantly exercising after she got reincarnated. Thankfully she had managed to fight against the waves after she got swept in the flood.

Mo Chou was determined to survive no matter what, so she pushed her body to the extre. After struggling for ages, she finally found a sturdy tree which had miraculously not been swept in the flood. It was still intact and wasn’t showing any signs of being swept off either.

Mo Chou imdiately started swimming towards the tree. With much effort, she managed to climb the tree and haul herself up on top of one of the branches.

Even though she had trained her body after being reincarnated, Mo Chou was already exhausted. Still, she sat up using the tree as support and looked around.

She wanted to find Reaper and help him climb up the tree as well. Mo Chou really hoped that Reaper was doing alright. He was trained and had top notch survival skills after all.

She looked around but there were no signs of Reaper anywhere. ’Perhaps, he got lucky like and grabbed onto so other tree’?

Mo Chou tried to comfort herself but the chances of finding another intact and sturdy tree like hers in the heavy flood was very unlikely. Although Mo Chou wanted nothing more than to lie down on the tree branch and rest, she still forced herself to stay alert.

She took off the now wet sweater that she had on and hung it onto a high branch. She hoped that the rescue team would search for them and find them faster when they saw the sweater.

While she was tying the sweater, Mo Chou actually caught a glimpse of Reaper. But he

seed unconscious. Thankfully, he had managed to haul himself on top of a big piece of plank but he was still in danger.

Mo Chou didn’t waste any ti and imdiately jumped into the water to rescue him. Despite being in a bad condition herself, she swam to him with all her might.

Reaper was indeed unconscious and didn’t wake up no matter what she did. Mo Chou saw that he had a wound on his head but she had no ti to think about it. She directly held onto him and started vigorously swimming towards the tree.

With the added weight of the unconscious Reaper, Mo Chou had an even more difficult ti swimming. Her whole body was hurting and she was basically running on fus at this point.

Finally, Mo Chou finally reached the tree and with all her remaining energy she pushed Reaper onto the branch.

Mo Chou was so exhausted that she could feel her consciousness slipping but the branch did not seem like it could hold both her and Reaper’s weight.

She couldn’t even lift her arms anymore and felt her vision blurring. But Mo Chou was not ready to welco death with open arms yet.

She finally had family and friends who loved her.

She couldn’t give up this wonderful new life after having it for such a short ti.

With sheer willpower, Mo Chou tore the bottom of her shirt and tied herself to the tree with it. Before she lost consciousness, Mo Chou’s last thought was that this ti she would not go down without a fight.
