Chapter 109: Chapter 108: Intelligence Overwhelming
"Hehe, beautiful apprentice, co here, let your master tell you where they’ve fled."
Upon hearing ng Yao’s words, Qin Tian laughed, not because he truly wanted to be ng Yao’s master—a beauty with more looks than brains was tiring to teach.
Qin Tian rely wanted to tease ng Yao.
"They fled that way."
Qin Tian smiled, stretched out his right hand, and confidently pointed to the right.
To the right of the road was a thick patch of brush, followed by a forest, the dense trees growing on rolling hills, looking like a continuous tree-covered Great Wall.
"Psh, you’re just pointing in a random direction; you think you can fool ?" Seeing Qin Tian’s casual gesture, ng Yao naturally didn’t believe him.
"Good apprentice, listen carefully, and let your master help you analyze."
Qin Tian said with a smile, "Ti is short, let us walk and analyze."
After finishing, Qin Tian walked toward the right, and although ng Yao didn’t believe him, she still followed him toward the woods on the right.
"First, did you see the marks on the highway? Few vehicles have been through here, the ground is all gravel, and there’s a lot of dust. Georgetown’s group are likely wearing either dress shoes or boots; there are so blurry footprints on the road, which disappear where I was standing just now."
Qin Tian explained.
ng Yao was unconvinced: "I saw the footprints on the ground too, appearing and disappearing, who knows where they went? Besides, the footprints might not even be theirs, right?"
Qin Tian arrived at the roadside brush, pointed at a small path cleaved through the brush, and said, "See, this place is desolate and overgrown. Who would normally walk from the side of the road into the forest? No one, right? Look at these marks; the dry grass on the ground clearly has new signs of being stepped on, and these marks extend all the way into the forest, aning Qiao Zhicheng’s group went that way."
This ti, Qin Tian’s analysis left ng Yao speechless; she frowned and thought, "Such obvious tracks, how did I miss them just now?"
The tracks through the brush were fresh, and it could be almost certain that Qiao Zhicheng’s group had fled that way.
Qin Tian said, "This is Qiao Zhicheng’s trick; he deliberately parked the car over there, then they entered the mountain from this side, intending to mislead us into following from where they parked the car."
While talking, the two had already entered the woods.
ng Yao, looking at the layers of dust on the ground, which was covered in twigs and fallen leaves, said, "So we follow the footprints they’ve left behind to pursue them?"
Qin Tian smiled, "You’re not too dim-witted."
ng Yao glared at him: "You just got lucky, I overlooked it, that’s all. Hmph."
"Hehe, you admit you’re not as smart as , so why don’t you hurry up and call
master?"
"Go to hell!"
Having confird their direction, the two easily followed the footprints and dust Qiao Zhicheng and the others left on the ground as they pursued.
Along the way, ng Yao seed quite professional, looking around left and right, occasionally picking up twigs and fallen leaves to examine them closely, as if she were a real expert in trace evidence.
"Co on, are you a dog or what, sniffing around?" Qin Tian couldn’t help but laugh when he saw ng Yao’s serious deanor.
"What do you know, I’m a professional," ng Yao retorted with a glance at Qin Tian, "This is called trace identification. Through the traces they’ve left, we can determine which direction they ran, and how many people there were. You know nothing!"
"..."
It was Qin Tian’s first ti hearing ng Yao swear, and he was a bit incredulous, "I don’t need to sniff around like a dog to know they ran off toward the front left, and there are five of them."
"How did you know?" ng Yao asked.
"Nonsense, look to the left front, there’s a piece of cloth. Obviously, soone walked too hastily and their clothing snagged on the tree, leaving behind this fabric. As for the number of people, I already counted them while I was chasing them in the car—five people. Do we even need to identify any tracks?"
Qin Tian’s words made ng Yao feel embarrassed. She put down the tree leaves in her hand and gave Qin Tian a cold look, then walked toward the left front.
"Don’t feel wronged. With fifty percent of my intellect, I can easily crush you," Qin Tian walked over and said.
"Hmph, really? How can you prove it?" ng Yao said as she walked, unconvinced.
"Let’s do this, I’ll ask you a simple question. If you can answer it, it ans your IQ isn’t beyond saving. If you can’t answer it... cough cough, then stop showing off your IQ in front of ." Qin Tian covered his mouth and laughed.
"What question, say it," ng Yao stopped, "It can’t be professional knowledge; it has to test IQ. I don’t believe that my IQ is lower than yours."
"Listen carefully."
Seeing ng Yao so serious, Qin Tian laughed and said, "I ask you, what do rotten radishes, cavities, and pregnant won have in common?"
"Common characteristics?"
Upon hearing this, ng Yao was stunned and began to think as she walked, but after several minutes, she still had no clue.
Rotten radishes? Pregnant won? Cavities?
There’s no connection between the three, so what could they have in common?
ng Yao was utterly baffled. When she turned around and saw Qin Tian snickering, she said, "You’re not playing with , throwing out a random question are you? How could these three possibly have anything in common?"
"So, you’re saying you can’t figure it out?"
Qin Tian smiled smugly, "Do you want
to tell you the answer?"
"Not yet, let
think for a while longer."
The persistent ng Yao thought for a few more minutes, but ultimately she couldn’t co up with the answer. She said, "Tell
the answer, I want to see what they really have in common." Her face showed she was not willing to concede.
"Pulled out too late," Qin Tian said succinctly.
"What? What pulled out too late?" ng Yao looked confused as if she didn’t quite catch it.
Qin Tian laughed heartily and said, "The common characteristic of rotten radishes, cavities, and pregnant won is that they are all caused by pulling out too late."
Watching Qin Tian grin, ng Yao thought hard and said, "What ’pulled out too late’? I can understand that cavities form because they are pulled out too late, and sa with rotten radishes, because they rot after being left in the ground too long, but what does that have to do with pregnant won being pulled out too late?"
Qin Tian rubbed his head, unable to stop smiling, "You’re really as dense as I thought if you can’t figure this out."
Seeing ng Yao’s bewildered face, Qin Tian whispered, "Hey, you’re still a virgin, aren’t you?"
"You..."
The mont Qin Tian asked this out of the blue, ng Yao’s face flushed deeply with anger, and she retorted, "Vulgar! How can you say such a thing..."
"What’s the big deal? I can tell you haven’t been intimate with a man."
"I, I, I..."
ng Yao tried desperately to explain, but in her fluster, she really didn’t know what to say. She indeed had never been intimate with a man. In fact, she had never even held any man’s hand other than her father’s...
