Chapter 335: Chapter 334: Racing Against Ti
Locke could sense that sothing was amiss, and so could Ivan. It had to be said that the Black God Abyss was very peculiar, giving off a feeling akin to sub-space and existing as its own entity. The black mist inside possessed an unusual vitality.
“Locke, you guys leave first.”
“Boss, I—”
“Go now!”
After leading Locke and the others out of the void pool, Ivan imdiately instructed them to leave first, as staying in the Black God Abyss was bound to pose problems for them.
Locke was reluctant, but seeing his boss’s solemn expression, he had no choice but to call for the Silkworm Queen and Thomas to fly towards the Blood Ring Mountains.
Ivan casually buried two beads deep in the rocky soil of the void pool; each the size of a fist and placed one on each side. Only then did he slowly ascend a short distance.
The black mist appeared to be provoked by their actions.
A large amount rolled out from the deep pool and exploded shortly after, enveloping the nearby area in a vast expanse, including Ivan and the others within its shroud.
From a distance, Locke saw this scene and couldn’t help but worry.
“Not good, the boss is engulfed by the black mist.”
“Locke! Ivan must have his own plan; we can’t go back and cause more trouble,” warned the Silkworm Queen, noticing sothing unusual within herself.
“Damn the backlash of power, let’s go, we have to follow the boss’s orders.” Due to the binding contract, any act of defiance would cause a force to wreak havoc within their bodies, which was already beginning to act up.
It was clear that Ivan had anticipated this situation, which was why he had told them to keep their distance; all Locke could do was continue to fly even further away.
Not far from the void pool, Ivan had already landed in the area surrounded by the black mist.
“As expected, this place has a restraining effect on the power cultivated through the Black Beard Chapter. Fortunately, my power has now been converted into the new ditation thod Mana, which can suppress the remaining restraining effects and not interfere with the exertion of my strength.”
Faced with such circumstances, his expression remained unchanged, always subtly sensing the changes around him. For the mont, the situation was still manageable.
Now that there was enough commotion, he planned to wait here for the enemy’s arrival, buying so ti for the infiltration into the Black God Society to rescue the instructor, Zhan Ni.
“Roar!”
The black mist transford, condensing into a beast.
Before Ivan could react, many ant sentinels appeared out of the swamp ants, swarming forward, and in an instant, they scattered the not yet fully ford mist beast.
Under their siege, the black mist could only remain as mist.
…
Elsewhere, on the edge of the cliff where the Black God Abyss was located, the mist beca especially turbulent. This commotion imdiately caught the attention of the sorcerers.
Soone has been killed!
Soone has escaped in betrayal!
Soone is attacking the Black God Society!
Once the cause of the disturbance was clarified through the Secret Technique, the upper echelons of the Black God Society exploded in a frenzy, each one with an extrely sour expression, especially upon hearing that soone had successfully killed and escaped from the Black God Abyss.
It was simply a glaring sha.
“Now is not the ti to tally up our gains and losses; the enemy is still out there, we can’t just ignore it,” said a high-ranking mber, Muri, a Level 3 Sorcerer, in a heavy voice.
“If the enemy dares to co and attack us, their strength must not be underestimated. Since none of us have recovered, why don’t we all go and crush them to dust?” another senior mber, Sandro, suggested.
“That’s not right, the enemy is cunning and must not be taken lightly; we need soone to stay in command here.”
“Sorcerer Muri is overthinking it,” soone said. “There’s only one entrance and exit, guarded by multiple layers of protection. No matter how cunning the enemy is, they couldn’t possibly infiltrate the inner sanctum of our Black God Society.”
The Black God Society boasted four Level 3 Sorcerers, who after so discussion and debate, decided that three of them would lead a team to confront the enemy. They left only one senior mber, Budor, to stay at the cliff and patrol the Black God Abyss with a small number of sorcerers.
“Let’s move!”
As Muri and his team advanced to attack, the deep shadows within the Black God Abyss slowly ebbed away, their presence as ominous as a prison.
As the one left behind at the cliff, Budor shivered upon seeing the massive flowing shadow, silently paying respects to the enemies of the terrifying master. Provoking that master guaranteed a thunderous wrath that would yield no rcy.
“How bold! Sorcerer Muri guessed right; soone really did infiltrate us.”
Before long, Budor sensed sothing and his complexion turned ashen.
He discovered the enemy had infiltrated deep into their territory, right within the cliff area. Had it not been for the disturbance of so Black God Society mbers, he wouldn’t have noticed at all.
Not only had the enemy infiltrated, but they also moved with the ease of entering a place without inhabitants, causing Budor both shock and rage. He hurriedly rushed toward the location.
At the second bend of the cliff, Budor, well-acquainted with the area, arrived just in ti to confront the enemy head-on. ‘Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh’— a mass of strange roots attacked him.
The enemy was a woman, twining her roots around a sorcerer who was almost an interdiate insect master.
“How dare you!”
Budor would not tolerate anyone daring to attack a mber of the Black God Society. He imdiately fought back with a spell, exhaling a breath of poison fire that was so darkly purple it surged violently.
The woman was none other than Jenny, with the unconscious Randall being towed behind by her roots.
Randall had beco confused and disoriented, and Jenny had no choice but to knock him out to bring him out. Unluckily, this exposed her.
Facing a Level 3 Sorcerer like Jenny was no easy task—she took the fight seriously from the start, summoning a multitude of Pan Iron Roots to attack.
The Pan Iron Roots collided with the poison fire, extinguishing it wherever they touched.
Soon, she realized that the Level 3 Sorcerer opposite her was much weaker than the sorcerers from East Capital, driven back repeatedly by the Pan Iron Roots.
“I’ll spare your life for now,” Jenny took the opportunity to bypass him and continue her escape, stepping along the cliffside.
She was encumbered by Randall and could not burrow directly through the earth to escape, so running was her only option.
She knew very well that Ivan faced several tis more enemies than herself, under imnse pressure, and she had not a second to lose if she was to get away.
“Damn woman, stop!”
Budor, utterly disrespected, howled in rage, his body transforming in a flash into a bizarrely shaped giant worm.
The worm was empowered in a place like the Black God Abyss, surrounded by swirling black mist that speeded its chase.
Unfortunately for Budor, Jenny commanded the power of the earth, moving hundreds of ters in a single bound, increasing the distance between them over ti rather than reducing it.
“Block her! Stop that woman who dares to offend the Black God Society!” Budor called out to the other sorcerers ahead to intercept.
Most mbers of the Black God Society had gone out to et the enemy, leaving few behind. They had been patrolling separately, scattered around, and could not assemble quickly enough to respond to the sudden crisis.
Not realizing they were about to face soone far stronger than themselves, they rashly launched an attack.
“Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh.”
Accompanied by the slaughter of the Pan Iron Roots, corpses fell, one after another into the swirling mist.
Jenny scarcely paused as she made her way.
Thus, in a chase where one fled and one pursued, a woman and a worm arrived at the subterranean crevice used for passage and flew into it.
