Chapter 314: Chapter 313: A Casual Discussion about the Big Picture
Vernon Millennium Archive.
On this day, Ivan received a ssage from Chairman Narnya and hastened over.
“Chairman, Ivan has co to report to you.”
“Very good, your strength has actually reached such a level,” Narnya spotted the extent of his strength with a simple glance and couldn’t help but praise.
“I’ve had so fortunate encounters recently,” Ivan said.
For a sorcerer to enhance their own strength, both knowledge and resources are indispensable.
He happened to lack neither, first possessing the ntal power potion formula, raw materials, and thods of concoction, then having access to the Black Magic Wind Fire Array and a large magic stone mine. After a series of operations, his strength had advanced to the latter stage of Level 2.
The last part was not a spontaneous increase either; he had also paid a considerable price for the birth of Zhan Ni and received an accompanying legacy.
“I intended to recomnd you for a mission with a reward that would increase your strength, but now it seems inappropriate,” Narnya explained.
“No matter, I happen to be free lately,” Ivan wasn’t prepared to turn down the Chairman’s goodwill.
In his perception, the Chairman’s presence remained inscrutable, befitting soone striving to beco a Level 4 Sorcerer.
“There’s no need; if I say it’s not suitable, then it’s not suitable. My Five Leaves Spear never forces its mbers to do anything,” Narnya shook his head slightly and refused with a smile.
“Alright, I will heed your advice,” seeing that his words weren’t just courteous remarks, Ivan laughed awkwardly, moving on from the topic. “Speaking of which, Bloodline Alterators are becoming more and more nurous. Even the School of Space has an elder who recently transplanted the eyes of a star-patterned frog.”
“You’re right, bloodline alteration has almost reached the point of being widespread, and there are people behind the scenes fanning the flas,” Narnya seed to be aware of Yosef’s situation, showing no surprise on his face.
“What’s the purpose of it all?” Ivan couldn’t help but ask.
“The organization has conducted an in-depth investigation. The situation behind all this is far more complex than it seems; a slight misstep could endanger the entire sorcerer world,” Narnya said with a heavy tone.
“That serious?” Ivan was sowhat taken aback.
“You might have heard, the origin of the popularization of bloodline alteration is due to a brutal war, the enemy being a traitor who ascended to Level 6 using Bloodline Power.
In that battle, we lost many on our side, with the most significant loss being a Void Spirit Sorcerer close to becoming Level 6. That esteed individual paid with their life to bring the traitor to justice,” Narnya continued.
Ivan nodded slightly, he had indeed heard of it; the news ca from a peripheral guild under the Five Leaves Spear.
“So within the organization suspect that the traitor didn’t completely perish and theorize that there might be other forces behind the traitor, whether they be an Alien Race or from an alien plane. However, our views were not adopted by the upper echelons, perhaps they have their own considerations,” Narnya added.
Hearing his words, Ivan’s eyelids twitched.
Was this sothing he, at his level, should be hearing? If he had known, he wouldn’t have brought up this broken topic.
However, from the Chairman’s words, he could clearly sense that the issue was indeed grave, and a misstep could affect the entire sorcerer world, including himself, with no one able to avoid it.
“Sorcerer Ivan, what are your thoughts now?”
“Enhance my own strength to et all changes with constancy,” Ivan replied with a bitter smile.
“With your invention of the Black Magic Wind Fire Array and the Pure White Eye, I can see you will eventually beco a mainstay in the sorcerer world. That is why I wanted to give you a heads-up; our situation is not particularly optimistic.”
Narnya made no comnt in response to his answer; he only spoke of the reason behind his words.
“I understand, thank you for your concern,” Ivan nodded.
“In any case, you should be aware of the situation,” Narnya said.
In fact, many were well aware that the greatest problem in the sorcerer world was the absence of a Level 6 Sorcerer.
Level 6 Sorcerers, referred to as ‘True Kings’, are involved in higher realms of power—the Throne, crucial to a race.
The sorcerer world had no true king, and so humanity could only cling to Botta Blood Plain and Chanay Continent, daring not to expand further.
Now, not only had this issue remained unresolved, but a Level 6 betrayer had erged, leaving people helpless.
At this thought, Chairman Narnya felt an additional touch of lancholy.
“By the way, Chairman, do you know of a plane involving Spiritual Bodies, where there is a vast grindstone perpetually crushing the Spiritual Bodies beneath it—–”
Ivan brought up another matter, ticulously describing the scene he had witnessed.
After his return, he had searched for related records, but found none.
“I have not, it’s normal for alien planes to go unrecorded; there are quite a few of them,” Narnya said.
“To be frank, not long ago I encountered a Spiritual Body above Level 4. Although it only revealed an arm, had that alien plane not suddenly appeared, the consequences would have been unpredictable,” Ivan pondered for a mont before speaking of the predicant he had previously found himself in.
When he had looked up information about the Life and Death Cocoon, he had read through a lot of material on Spiritual Bodies, but there had been no record of one so powerful.
The records among sorcerers mostly depicted Spiritual Bodies as bizarre and relatively difficult to deal with, but not impossible, and their numbers were few.
“Really?”
“This is a personal experience.”
Seeing that he did not seem to be fabricating his story, Narnya fell silent after listening, obviously startled by the news.
“Make a note of it, enter it into the archives.” After a pause, he instructed, as this matter would presumably be investigated by people within the organization.
“No problem,” Ivan said, seeing it as his due obligation.
Truth be told, he felt sowhat ashad; having joined Five Leaves Spear for such a long ti, he had reaped considerable benefits but had given little back to Five Leaves Spear.
“Chairman, would the organization have use for Pure White Eyes? I can also craft them.”
“Of course, this is a good item for detecting spatial disturbances. Even if you hadn’t ntioned it, I was about to bring it up. The terms are the sa as with the guild, how is that?” Narnya said with a smile.
“That’s acceptable,” Ivan replied.
“Furthermore, what do you need? Whether it is new archive data or assistance crafting Pure White Eyes, both constitute rit, and my Five Leaves Spear rewards for achievents,” Narnya pointed out.
That was true; Five Leaves Spear was known to be a generous organization.
“If possible, I would like to have information related to promotion to Level 3,” Ivan said directly, expressing his current most desired need without pretense.
“Anything else?”
“ditation thods for various schools; average quality is fine, I need them for reference.”
“Ambitious, but getting ditation thods is a minor issue. As for the promotion information you’re seeking, I advise you to wait for so ti. Once Solomon is aware of your strength, he will inevitably co to invite you to collaborate, and that would be an excellent opportunity.
Since it involves Solomon’s family matters, it’s inconvenient for as an outsider to divulge too much.”
Upon hearing Narnya’s response, Ivan paused and then nodded.
The Chairman had no reason to deceive him, so he would wait. After all, an opportunity for promotion to Level 3 Sorcerer was not sothing to be taken lightly—it wasn’t readily available.
“Chairman, I will take my leave now.”
“Wait, while here, rember to address as ‘Curator’.”
“Farewell, respected Curator.”
Soon after, Ivan, with the gains of the day in tow, bid farewell to the curator, who bore the appearance of an elegant, scholarly old man.
