The palace was still, wrapped in the soft quiet of early dawn. The first light of the sun had just begun to peek over the horizon, casting a golden sheen across the marble floors. A gentle breeze fluttered through the silken curtains in Cain and Selene's chamber.

Selene stirred awake, a low groan escaping her lips. Cain, fast asleep beside her, woke instantly at the sound. His eyes snapped open, alert and worried.

"Selene?" he asked, already sitting up.

She clutched her stomach and exhaled through her teeth, her expression tensing. "It's happening," she whispered. "Cain, my water just broke."

Cain bolted upright. "Guards! Midwife! Anyone—!"

Within monts, the room burst into motion. Servants rushed in with blankets, towels, and water. The royal healer, a calm elderly woman nad Mireya, stepped in, already pulling her sleeves up and directing the staff with sharp, practiced commands.

"Take a deep breath, Your Highness," Mireya said soothingly. "It's ti."

Cain stayed by Selene's side, gripping her hand tightly as she squeezed with a strength that reminded him of battle. Sweat dotted her brow, and her face twisted in pain—but she didn't cry out. She was strong, powerful, beautiful.

"I'm here," Cain whispered over and over. "I'm here."

Outside the door, Eira and Eren paced restlessly. Leo and Zara sat on a nearby bench, hands clasped tightly. Queen Isolde arrived with her robes hastily thrown on, and King Azrael followed slowly, his expression unreadable.

"They've been in there an hour," Eira muttered, her tone thick with worry.

"Selene's strong," Eren said softly. "So is Cain. They'll be okay."

"I don't care how strong she is," Isolde said. "She's still my daughter now."

From inside, a loud cry pierced the air—not Selene's, but a baby's.

Everyone froze.

Monts later, another cry joined it.

Mireya opened the doors wide, her face alight with pride. "Twins. Two strong boys."

Cain erged monts after, his face damp with emotion. His arms were full—one twin in each, wrapped in soft blue cloth. He paused at the threshold, eyes locking with everyone else's. No one dared speak.

Then Cain stepped forward and knelt before his parents, lowering the first twin gently into Isolde's arms.

"We'd like to introduce you," he said, his voice thick, "to Azrael—the firstborn."

King Azrael's breath caught. His lips parted slightly, but no words ca. His eyes t Cain's, then slowly fell to the small child with a tuft of black hair and tiny fists clenched.

"You... nad him after ?" Azrael asked in disbelief.

Cain nodded. "As a sign that we forgive you."

Tears welled in Isolde's eyes. She looked at her husband, her hand reaching for his, as though grounding him in the mont.

Azrael dropped to his knees. For the first ti, the once cold, ruthless king looked like a man stripped bare. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice cracking. "Thank you, my son."

Cain turned and handed the second twin to Selene's maid, who brought him to Leo and Eira.

"And this one," Cain said, "is Caelan. Because Selene said it ans 'eternal warrior.'"

Selene, now in a fresh gown, was wheeled into the hallway by Mireya. Her face was pale but glowing. Cain went to her imdiately, kissing her forehead.

"You did it," he said softly.

"No," she murmured. "We did it."

Everyone gathered close. The hallway filled with laughter, quiet awe, and whispered blessings. Eira held baby Azrael, cooing softly, while Eren stood beside her, unable to take his eyes off the tiny human. Leo danced around with Caelan, making exaggerated faces that already had the newborn hiccuping tiny giggles.

King Azrael approached Selene. "I don't deserve what you've given ," he said.

"You're trying," Selene replied. "That's what matters."

He bowed his head. "Thank you."

That night, the stars over the kingdom burned bright. In the nursery, Cain and Selene sat on either side of the crib where their sons slept peacefully. The world outside was calm, but in their hearts, sothing vast and eternal had changed.

Two new lives. One nad in forgiveness. One nad in strength.

And together, they were the beginning of a future no longer bound by bloodshed—but blessed with love.

The gentle lullaby sung by Queen Isolde echoed through the warm-lit nursery, her voice soft and wavering with emotion as she cradled her grandson Azrael. Cain stood beside her, watching silently—still stunned by the feeling of peace washing over him. Selene was lying in the nearby bed, the soft rustling of blankets around her as she fed Caelan, his tiny fingers curling around her thumb.

The past was a ghost, still haunting the halls, but in that mont, the future glowed brighter than ever.

Isolde looked up at Cain. "He has your eyes," she said, brushing a kiss over Azrael's temple.

Cain nodded. "And Selene's scowl," he added, smirking.

Selene chuckled from the bed. "You say that like it's a bad thing."

Eira entered the room with a bundle of embroidered blankets and gifts the villagers had sent the mont they heard the royal heirs were born. Eren trailed behind her, holding a handcrafted toy griffin he'd made himself—a bit lopsided, but full of heart.

"I brought gifts," Eira said with a grin. "Don't tell your sons are going to grow up without toys made by their favorite aunt."

"Favorite?" Leo called from the doorway. "Bold of you to assu. I made matching onesies with crowns."

Zara elbowed him gently, laughing as she carried in a tray of sweet fruits and herbs for Selene. "They're both ridiculous," she told Selene, "but they love you—and those boys—more than life."

Selene's eyes glimred with tears, and her gaze turned to Cain. "This is our family."

Cain took Caelan from her arms and kissed her cheek. "It's more than I ever imagined."

At that mont, the door creaked open, and King Azrael stepped in quietly. For once, he wasn't wearing his usual dark robe of authority. His shoulders seed softer, less guarded. When Selene looked at him, there wasn't the sa old tension—only acceptance.

"May I?" he asked, gesturing to Caelan.

Cain hesitated, then nodded.

Azrael took the baby into his arms with a tenderness no one expected. Caelan blinked up at him, letting out a gurgle that might have been the beginnings of a laugh.

"He's strong," Azrael murmured. "Like his mother."

Selene smiled faintly. "Like his father, too."

Azrael turned to Isolde, who now had tears slipping down her cheeks as she held Azrael Jr. "They've already forgiven us more than we deserve," she whispered.

He stepped closer to her and laid his forehead gently against hers. "Then let's earn it every day."

Later that night, the family gathered in the palace garden. The moon was full, casting silver across the stone pathways and making the lilies bloom like magic. A small fire burned in the center of the circle, just like the old village traditions they used to know before the throne.

Cain stood with Selene beside him, each holding a baby. The brothers and their partners surrounded them. Isolde lit a single candle and placed it before the fire.

"A light," she said, "to guide them through darkness."

Eira added a ribbon, red as blood, to the fla's edge. "A mark of strength."

Eren placed a wolf-carved charm near the fla. "A bond of family."

Leo, with a grin, added a flower crown—mildly crushed from being in his pocket too long. "Because every little prince needs flair."

Zara placed her hand over his. "And love. More than anything."

Selene looked around at all of them. This wasn't just family—it was healing. Growth. Rebirth.

Cain whispered to her, "This world, Selene... it's finally ours to shape."

She leaned her head on his shoulder. "Then let's make it a good one."

And as the flas danced into the sky, twin cries echoed into the night—life beginning anew, born from the ashes of all they'd endured.
