Chapter 32—Fight! Fight!
Just after flying for a few seconds, Sli#47’s body turned back from blue flas into a jelly blob.
’Damn... it drains mana fast,’ he thought, his body wobbling as he fell from the sky—exhaustion hit him.
Thud!—But he didn’t hit the ground; Elder Sli caught him and warned, "Be careful. Always check your mana reserves."
’Yeah... I can’t let this happen in a real fight,’ he thought, feeling lucky.
-----
The next day—Thud!—Thud!—the woman’s footsteps echoed through the field as the barrier was removed.
"Now..." Elder Sli shouted, glancing at the young sli.
He nodded to the old sli and—Wob!—leaped over the fence to the next farm.
Thud!
He landed on the ground and took in the view of bouncing slis—Wob!—Wob!
"Whoa!... Who are you?" A sli—wob!—bounced over to him and asked, checking him with bright, gleaming eyes.
"I’m Sli#47—human’s given na. And you?" the young sli asked back, gazing at the blue blob who had already turned into a follower.
"I’m Sli#4, nad by humans... So how did you turn crimson?" Sli#4 inquired, mouth wide open.
"I evolved..." the young sli replied. ’Looks like this guy luckily gained intellect,’ he mused, as the other slis in the farm just bounced—Wob!—Wob!—like idiots.
"Boss, boss, teach how to evolve!" Sli#4 begged, eyes sparkling like stars.
"Boss?... Yeah... I gained a follower," the young sli muttered, then said softly, "I’ll call you Little Sli from now—"
But he couldn’t finish before Little Sli shouted in joy, "And I’ll call you Boss Sli!"
The young sli’s eyes twitched.
Wob!—Little Sli hugged him and rubbed against him affectionately. "Boss Sli, Boss..."
’Great... I’ve acquired a clingy pet,’ the young sli thought irritably.
He’d leapt over the right‑side fence just to escape the sli owners after evolving his race.
Anyone would spot an anomaly at a glance: a red sli in the middle of blue slis.
’...Tomorrow... the day...’ he thought, glancing at the black sun in the sky.
He still spiked the garbage for the day. It wouldn’t affect his battle power for tomorrow.
Wob!—Wob!
He spent a few hours suffering under Little Sli’s clinginess—being hugged from every angle and scrutinized from all sides "just to see what’s different."
’There it is... the mana ripple again.’ He relaxed as the transparent barrier stitched itself over the farm.
Ever since he gained the ability to sense mana particles, he could detect the barriers as well.
"Little Sli... wanna follow ?" he asked, eyes narrowing, grin slightly creepy.
Little Sli let go in shock—Wob!—and asked nervously, "Where?"
"To the next field," he said, smiling. ’Elder Sli... I found you a new student,’ his grin widened.
"Okay..." Little Sli agreed, still trembling.
Wob!—Wob!—Sli#47 picked Little Sli up with his tiny hands and leapt back over the fence—
Back to his field.....
"Elder, I brought you a new student..." the young sli said joyfully, pointing to the little sli, "You can train him."
Old Sli nodded with a grin. "Good, another sli with intellect."
"Who are you? I’m Little Sli," the newcor said, introducing himself. He went by the na given to him by his Boss sli.
He wasn’t nervous about Elder Sli, since the elder was just a regular blue blob like any sli.
"Little Sli..." Elder Sli glanced at the young sli and introduced himself, "Very well... you can call Elder Sli."
Wob!—A blue blob fell beside Little Sli and introduced herself, "And you can call Mama Sli..."
-----
The day the young sli had been waiting for finally arrived...
The sun rose into the sky, illuminating the world with black rays.
"Mama Sli, place a trap over there..." the young sli said, pointing below the fence.
"Earth Trap..." Mama Sli cast the spell, placing her tiny palms on the ground where he indicated.
A brown magic rune flashed briefly, then vanished.
"Everything’s ready..." Elder Sli said, giving the signal.
They hid near the corners of the entrance—old sli on one side, Mama Sli and the young sli on the other.
"Double Presence Hide!" Sli#47 used the skill, covering himself in the aura and pointing his tiny right palm toward a corner of the fence. A small orb of aura floated from his hand and settled there.
"So that’s how it is..." he muttered, realizing he could sense a person’s signature from the orb.
Double Presence Hide didn’t just hide presence—it faked another presence sowhere else, giving double insurance.
"Mama Sli..." he whispered, glancing at the blue blob who had also erased her presence.
In this loop, he’d insisted Elder Sli teach her Hide skill, since they’d figured out the red‑haired woman could sense mana.
Little Sli, however, was confused, glancing at them doubtfully as he bounced with the others.
But he didn’t go near them because Elder Sli had warned him. "He’s so scary..." Little Sli muttered.
Just one day of Elder Sli’s training was enough for him to understand: the most dangerous one wasn’t the red sli—it was the old sli.
----
A few seconds later—Thud!—Thud!
"They’re here," Elder Sli warned like always, but this ti the young sli had already sensed them before the call, as he cast, "Fireball!"
Gzz!
Thud!—The mont the burly man stepped in—Whoosh!—a flaming sphere slamd into his face like a burning boulder.
Thud!—He dropped to the ground, dead with the scorched face.
"6&ggv!" the armored woman yelled as another burly man rushed in.
"Fire Lance!" Elder Sli cast a lance of flas that—Whoosh!—rushed straight at the man’s face.
Gzz!
The spell hit dead‑on. Half the man’s head liquefied, skull steaming beneath it, before—Thud!—he dropped dead.
"tg^^&!" the woman roared in anger and—Whoosh!—leapt over the fence. But this ti, the young sli was waiting, and his trick worked.
She landed exactly where he’d placed his Double Presence Hide orb.
She was about three ters away from him.
"Fire Vortex!" he didn’t waste a single mont, casting his strongest spell.
Whooo!
A burning orange vortex of fla rose from the ground at the woman’s feet.
Gzz!
The vortex flared three ters high and about a ter wide.
Gzz!
The flas burned violently.
