Chapter 29—Will Training
[ Ding! Casting—Holy Light of Purification ]
"Nice—soothing bath," Sli#47 grinned as golden light poured over him.
After a few seconds, the light vanished.
[ Ding! Curse has been removed! ]
’Finally free from... enslavent,’ He grinned, he could finally scold, "Idoit octopus...you should have looked at yourself in the mirror."
He then planned for a few minutes about his next steps.
’Yup—ritual again,’ he thought bitterly—it was the only option.
He clicked —Y—to start a new tiline.

[Warning! Carrying eldritch skills to the next loop risks corruption.]
’...I don’t want tentacles. I’m fine with my tiny hands,’ he’d expected this would be the case—that’s why he didn’t view those skills, to avoid getting tempted.
He clicked —N— without hesitation and—

He opened his eyes to Mama Sli’s warm squeeze. "I am your mama, child," she cooed

’No wonder... he crushed like a piece of cake. And he’s... High Human?’ he wondered, staring at him, who was no different from any human.
He’d checked their stats before in the previous loop, but he did again for motivation, to train even more.
-----
After repeating sequences like in the previous loop, he asked Elder Sli, "Elder, before starting rituals—how do I raise Will?"
He had to improve his Will so that he could reach level 50 without eldritch corruption, and then he’d fight his way out.
"Will stat is the toughest," Elder Sli said flatly, "You build it by suffering—enduring pain without breaking."
’Great...masochism. If Will could be improved easily, Eldritch ritual wouldn’t be forbidden,’ the young sli mused bitterly. ’Do I have to withstand loops to increase Will?’
He still rembered that when he passed the tenth loop, his Will had increased, and it was permanent. If nothing else worked, he could repeat loops to raise Will and train masteries.
"There is one thod suitable for now..." Elder Sli said after a bit of a pause.
"And that is?" the young sli asked with excitent, eager to hear it.
"It’s ditation—without losing concentration," the old sli said with a playful smile.
’Sothing... seems wrong with this training thod,’ the young sli felt sothing off, eyeing the elder sli’s grin.
------
In the afternoon, the black sun rose to its peak.
"Hoohho..."
"Hehehe..."
Gzz!
Elder Sli was roaring and cackling near the young sli, who was ditating.
’Damn it...’ Sli#47 clenched, irritated listening to the sounds, almost losing focus.
Gzz!
Seeing no response from the young sli, the old sli pulled a thin branch and—Gzz!—rasped it against the ground, making a grating squeal.
’Good... not bad... hold on...’ Elder Sli appreciated the young sli’s will.
Wob!—He then rubbed the sli’s body with the branch, making him twitch.
’No... no.....itchy...’ Sli#47 couldn’t hold on, as he burst out, "Haha,...—You’re making fun of , aren’t you?"
"No, I’m not," the old sli replied plainly. "If you want to increase Will, you have to suffer, and this thod tests your tenacity."
"Hhh... I guess I have no choice," the young sli admitted defeat.
------
A month before the kids and the soldiers appear!
"Why didn’t my Will increase yet?" Sli#47 asked in anger.
He’d endured old sli’s pranks, but seeing only a monthleft, he was furious; he didn’t want to waste a loop.
"Because you didn’t suffer enough," Elder Sli replied flatly. He could have increased the efficiency by hitting him, but Mama Sli wouldn’t allow him to strike the young one.
"No, no—I cannot waste more ti. Tell another thod if you know," the young sli demanded; he wanted to switch to sothing quicker.
"There is a fast way—brutal though. You ready?" Elder asked, serious.
"If it works, then fine," the young sli agreed.
"Wait until everyone sleeps," the old sli ordered.
------
In the crimson rays of blood‑red moons...
"Get ready," Elder Sli said softly, and chanted, "Fireball!"
He threw the spell at the young sli—a fireball the size of a coin.
"What the—" Sli#47 was surprised but dodged quickly—Whoosh!—leaping to the side.
"I told you—you have to suffer and withstand pain," the old sli yelled at the dodging sli. "This fireball won’t kill you, but it will hurt you. Now, withstand it," he barked.
"If it doesn’t increase my Will, I will burn you," the young sli warned—tense about the pain, but left with no choice.
’No wonder the old sli wanted to wait for night,’ he thought, glancing at the sleeping Mama Sli.
If she knew about this training thod, the old sli would be dead.
The red magic rune flashed as a coin‑sized fireball rushed at Sli#47.
Gzz!
Whoosh!
"Ahhhh!" he roared in agony as the fireball struck.
His body caught fla, but he held on, eyes clenched shut!
"Waterball!"Elder Sli cast another spell, as half the young sli’s body burned.
A blue magic rune flared on his tiny palm as a small ball of water—Zzz!—fell on the flas and cald them down.
’Where... is my Will increase...’ he roared internally, still wracked with pain as he waited for a notification.
But there wasn’t any!
"Fireball," the young sli snapped, unable to hold back, casting at the old sli in anger.
A basketball‑sized fireball rushed at Elder Sli.
