Chapter 28—Portion of power
"Here..." She pointed her right arm at him and—Whoosh!—shot a small orb of condensed golden light at him.
"Whoa!" He sidestepped, not expecting an attack—but the orb was too fast and still hit him.
[ Ding! You gained a portion of Saint King Haruka’s power! ]
[ Ding! You can unleash it only once, irrespective of ti loops! ]
"What..." He wanted to ask, but Haruka closed her eyes peacefully with a smile, muttering softly, "It’s up... to... you... now... save the... world..." She left her life with hope.
’Incredible... even now, she still had hope...’ He hadn’t expected that, even in this state, she clung to life—only when he appeared did she depart to the afterlife.
"I... will..." he declared—he had no choice. Since he had reincarnated, it was do or die.
He glanced up at the roaming spiders in the sky, which made him even more adamant about saving the world. He didn’t want the world to be taken by those abominations.
"You idiotic pests... the Ti God is alive!" he yelled, wanting to test their reaction.
Whoosh!—Whoosh!
All the spiders turned toward him, opening their eyes—the sky filled with many red eyes.
Whoosh!—One by one, they started rushing toward him.
[ Warning! Malicious intent from unholy creatures to harm sli#47’s soul has been detected! ]
[ Requesting Sli#47’s command to self‑destruct! ]
"Yes, self‑destruct," Sli#47 yelled, chills racing over his body as all the spiders rushed at him with their dangerous eyes.
[ Ding! Command accepted! ]
[ Casting the ’Black lightening of Destruction’! ]
Crack!—Crack!
Suddenly, space tore open. An octopus eldritch popped out, and the giant female‑headed spider appeared, crossing the cracked space.
The newly appeared spider was a hundredtis bigger than the others—the octopus was the only one that could match her.
"What were you saying?... my slave..." the octopus eldritch teased in a cold, alien voice.
’Idio... Master’s voice is so heavenly...why.....’ Even his thoughts twisted against his will.
Puk!—Puk!—He slapped himself, annoyed that even his mind was being bent.
Boom!
A beam of lightningsuddenly manifested in the sky and rushed toward the sli.
"What the—?" The Spider Eldritch was surprised by the black lightning, but reacted quickly. "Poisonous Dark Flare!"
She cast a spell—a purple magic rune manifested at her human mouth, and from it a beam of purple fla rushed at the lightning.
"Damn... Eldritch voices are so damn irritating," Sli muttered, eyes narrowing.
Gzz!
Boom!
Both the lightning and the purple fla clashed.
’Just a little more... just a little ti,’ Sli#47 roared internally, as his eyes flickered at the panel in his vision.
[ Ding! Estimated to die in one minute! ]
Gzz!
The fla was overpowered by the lightning as the bolt pushed it back.
"You utter imbecile..." the spider roared and poured even more mana into the spell, stopping the lightning’s advance—reaching a stalemate.
Or so it seed. The black lightning thickened, grew, and wiped out the fla—then rushed at the sli.
’What... insane power,’ he thought, genuinely impressed.
"My dear slave, tell about the Ti God," a cold voice ordered him, wanting to find sothing.
’...Master’s here...’ He looked at the octopus eldritch, now just a few ters away.
’No... don’t answer... shut up!’ he scread inside, but his body betrayed him and obeyed the abomination, "Master, actually Ti God—" But he couldn’t finish as the lightning struck him.
Boom!
[ Ding! You have died! ]
"Puff," he sighed in relief as his vision darkened.
"Damn it, Ti God!" the spider eldritch yelled angrily.
"Calm down... this isn’t the first ti the Ti God has interfered with us," the octopus eldritch said calmly, without emotion—unlike the spider.
"It’s just... Ti God is too troubleso. He has not only made our plans failmultiple tis, but because of him, our parents and friends still cannot enter the world," the spider seethed, still furious at the Ti God.
"Let’s pull his soul first," the octopus said, glancing at the burntpile of goo.
He extended one tentacle... "Huh?" He tilted his head in surprise.
"What’s wrong?" the spider eldritch asked. The smaller spiders had returned to their places now that the sli had died.
"No soul... I cannot find his soul," the octopus replied, shocked.
"No doubt—TI GOD again," the spider grumbled.
’Her whole family really hates the Ti God...’ the octopus mused coldly, casting a spell, "Soul Extraction!"
A silver magic circle manifested on the sli’s body—but vanished within a second.
"Yeah... that confirms it. His soul is gone," he said—the spell had verified it.
-------
In the black void...
Sli#47 opened his eyes to the nothingness.
"Yup, my cute little body is back," he said happily, hugging his tiny blue jelly form.
"Status," he said after a few monts of self‑appreciation.
[ Ding! Opening Status! ]
[ Status: Physical Death.
Soul: Alive {Eldritch Contamination—60%} ]
’No wonder... I literally turned into an eldritch sli,’ he muttered bitterly, "That world was destroyed." He rembered Haruka, who pleaded with him to save the world.
"By the way... in that wasteland, she was the only one left alive—and sohow right near ..." he muttered, suspicious of how things happened. "Yeah... no doubt—it’s the power of Tiagain..."
Haruka had battled the eldritch and lost. With the remaining power of the Ti God he had given her, she peeked into the future and, seeing the sli regaining consciousness, rushed to the place she had seen.
On her way, she fought many creatures but held on. After reaching the place, she fell into the cracks due to a trap from a mountain eldritch.
With sheer will, she refused death and waited hundreds of years, clinging to that tiny edge of land with a hole in her stomach.
She even stored a portion of her power instead of using it—though it could’ve saved her—just to give it to him, the one who could rewritehistory.
Finally, after hundreds of years, she t the sli and passed away with a peaceful smile—believing he would succeed.
Sadly, Sli#47 had noideahow much Saint King Haruka suffered just to hand him that power.
