'It seems there's no choice but to kill her.' Giliberu mused, as his hands shook.
The image of his mother chained to a wall flashed in his mind.
Whoosh!—He flashed in front of the young woman.
She was trembling, still unable to stand due to her shivering legs. He smashed his glowing grey fist into her neck.
"Oh…" She gargled as she fell to the ground, dead.
"Why did you kill such a beautiful baby-creating machine?" the Goblin Lord barked.
'He didn't stop , but he's questioning now,' Giliberu mused, frowning.
He glanced at the Goblin Lord, whose veins popped up.
'I have to teach my son… on how to use a toy properly,' he thought. 'No… he cannot have an itch to kill baby machines.'
He wanted to check what Giliberu wanted to do with the young woman, so he didn't stop. He clenched his fist. 'I'll have to set him right.'
Giliberu replied, "I heard they are looking for goblins to catch." He paused for a mont, his voice rising. "What did they think of us goblins?"
The Goblin Lord sighed. "So that's how it is. You heard them."
He raised his chin as he walked towards Giliberu.
Patting his son's shoulder, he explained, "You rember Carnal Impulse, right?"
Giliberu nodded. "Yes, I do."
The Goblin Lord said, with a deep breath. "Yes. This curse is so powerful that it is used as an ingredient for… aphrodisiac potion."
"What?" Giliberu uttered, frowning.
"Yes. Impotent humans crave potions and dicines brewed from a goblin's blood—when that goblin loses control to Carnal Impulse," the Goblin Lord said, scowling.
'It seems it's karma… You catch won, and they catch you,' Giliberu mused, his lips twitching. 'And I am in this hell, fixed on one side… where I couldn't even explain myself.'
"Okay, let's go now," the Goblin Lord ordered, waving his head.
Ti ticked by.
They returned to their dwelling in the goblin village.
Giliberu took out a lump of at and a few fruits from the storage room.
He devoured them in a flash. Then he jumped onto his bed and snored right away.
When the moon rose to the top of the sky, he woke up yawning.
Thud! Thud!
"He's here again," he muttered.
He quickly opened the door as the towering goblin entered.
The Goblin Lord took the bed while Giliberu sat down on the floor.
"Well, let's start today's lesson," the Goblin Lord said.
Taking a deep breath, he asked, "What have you learned from today's situation?.. Have you decided?"
'Power,' Giliberu rejected his ideology. He replied, "It's because I was weak that I couldn't save them."
The Goblin Lord sighed. "Let's leave it there… Now, as a king, you'll have to be ruthless."
"Yes," Giliberu nodded. "After all, I'll have to kill my enemies."
"Not just enemies. You'll also have to eliminate your future problems," the Goblin Lord said, straightening his back.
"Eliminate future troubles?" Giliberu asked, his brows arching up.
"Yes," the Goblin Lord replied, eyes glowing with murderous red intent, "Gabu had his eyes on you from the day you were born."
Giliberu nodded, recalling the goblin who kept glancing at him with pure crimson eyes.
"He won't dare lay hands on you in my presence," the Goblin Lord said, with a hint of red hue in his eyes. "But he had a baby a few months ago… he might cause trouble for you in becoming the next Goblin Lord."
Giliberu asked, raising his brows, "Goblin Lord title… isn't it passed down?"
The Goblin Lord shook his head. "You are indeed the next Goblin Lord, but if soone close to your age—ten years apart—can challenge you for the title."
"So if I lose, he'll be the next Goblin Lord?" Giliberu asked, glancing at the Goblin Lord's eyes, which still carried murderous intent.
"Yes," the Goblin Lord nodded. "So it's best for you to kill him right away."
'What the heck is this?' Giliberu mused, his lips twitching. "He isn't even awakened. How can he be a threat to ?"
"Last Blood Rite Ritual…" the Goblin Lord uttered, his tone chilly.
Giliberu felt cold, his body twitching lightly. 'So cold.'
"What's that?" he asked, using aura to control his body temperature. 'A ritual?… Is it an eldritch ritual?' He cald his ssy thoughts.
The Goblin Lord sighed, controlling his emotions. "It's a magic-array ritual where one transfers all his power to the next generation."
Giliberu exclaid, wanting to test. "Did they take over already? Is it an unholy ritual?"
"Unholy ritual?" the Goblin Lord asked back.
"Unholy ritual… using an unholy being's power," Giliberu replied with unfamiliar terminology.
"Unholy creatures… what are they?" The Goblin Lord narrowed his eyes.
"I just dreamt of them," Giliberu said, scratching the back of his head.
He relaxed. 'Good, the world is still safe…'
The Goblin Lord laughed. "Oh, it's a dream...Son, you're too silly."
Giliberu thought, 'It seems a normal ritual.'
"So did you understand why I wanted to include him as a future trouble for you?" the Goblin Lord asked, standing up.
"Then why aren't goblins super strong?" Giliberu questioned. "Using this ritual, power can be passed to every goblin."
The Goblin Lord shook his head. "All the power is passed down—even a ray of mana and aura."
"So do you think what would happen if a body is left with nothing?" he asked, folding his hands.
Giliberu replied flatly. "Death."
'Another sacrificial power,' he clicked his tongue.
The Goblin Lord nodded. "Mana, and aura are life itself. And this ritual drains every last drop of it. Only one-ti usage, and only for one person."
Giliberu nodded, understanding. 'And not everyone would be willing to use it.'
"Gabu is Peak Tier two," the Goblin Lord said, picking up Giliberu.
Whoosh!—he dashed out of the dwelling.
With a flash, he stood in front of a window and placed his son beside him.
'Assassination… directly,' Giliberu roared internally as he glanced at the sleeping goblin baby on the grass mattress through the open window.
"Son, kill him," the Goblin Lord said, patting his shoulder. "Once this baby awakens, his dad, Gabu, will pass down his power directly."
"It will take 5 more years to awaken." Giliberu retorted.
Goblin Lord, narrowing his eyes at the goblin baby, asked, "Do you think you can reach Peak Tier two, or rival a Peak Tier two in five more years?"
'What's with this choice?' Giliberu mused, clenching his fist.
The Goblin Lord ordered coldly, "Kill him now, and eliminate your future trouble."
