"I hope you're satisfied," Asher said as he and Jett strolled down the corridor.
"Hell yeah. We should do this again," Jett replied with a cocky grin. Before Jett could add another word, Asher lted into the shadows, his figure dissolving into the dim light without a single reply, leaving Jett to wonder what was going on with him.
"Ah gosh, what's with him?" Jett muttered to himself as he reached his door. His hand hesitated on the cool doorknob; he let out a quiet, disappointed sigh before opening the door and slipping inside.
Inside, everything appeared serene. Freya lay fast asleep in her bed, unaware of his return. Yet, Jett's instincts scread that sothing was off.
In one fluid motion, he drew his sword, the tallic ring of its release echoing softly as he swept it behind him. His eyes darted around until they fixed on a familiar silhouette… soone standing too close.
Without missing a beat, Jett froze, his blade halting just inches from a figure's neck. A teasing tone laced his voice despite the tension. "I was starting to wonder if you were ever going to give your baby cousin a visit, huh, Dana?" He forced a smile, trying to diffuse the situation.
Dana's eyes narrowed as she faced Jett, her own sword was already leveled at Jett's neck. The tip of her blade grazed his skin, leaving a small line, a tiny cut that pricked his pride as much as his flesh.
"As far as I'm concerned, I have no cousin like you," Dana replied with clear disgust, her tone as cold as the steel she wielded.
Jett managed a force a chuckle despite the sting. "Yeah, well… you planning on taking that away from my neck? Didn't anyone teach you never to play with sharp objects?" He slowly withdrew his sword, his smirk still trying to act calm despite the blood.
Dana's eyes flashed dangerously. "Good choice," she warned, her voice low and edged. "I was going to cut off your arm if you didn't back off. Although, I must admit, I'm surprised you noticed I was here and reacted so quickly. Turns out you're not completely useless." With that, she smoothly sheathed her sword, letting Jett breathe a sigh of relief.
Jett's inner monologue buzzed with a mix of amusent and apprehension as he t Dana's steely, dagger-like gaze. 'Sohow, I'm convinced you were going to do more than that'. He forced a wry smile. "Why are you even here? Finally planning on killing ?"
Dana's eyes remained cold. "Oh please, if I wanted that, you'd already be dead."
"Then why?" Jett pressed, leaning forward as if to glean so hidden truth.
"Stay away from the Majesty Club. I won't have filth like you tarnish its image." Her voice dripped with venom. "Ross tried to invite you, didn't he?"
'I figured that was it.' Jett's smirk faltered for a mont, his surprise evident. "Wow, nothing gets past you. I guess walls really do have ears…" He attempted to back away from the conversation when a sudden, sharp pain exploded in his stomach.
In one swift, brutal motion, Dana's fist struck him hard, so hard that it disoriented him for several agonizing seconds. Before he could even brace himself, she reached behind him and yanked a fistful of his hair, her grip unyielding and rciless.
"Best you don't play with , kid. What was your reply to his offer?" Dana demanded, her tone icy and unrelenting.
"N… No… I told him… Nnnoo…" Jett stamred, his words slurred as pain radiated through him. In his head, he urged, 'Keep it cool, man. Any wrong move and you might find yourself begging Aurelia for a new isekai.'
"Good," Dana said with a curt nod as she roughly shoved him aside. "You at least know your place."
Jett groaned, trying to push himself up. "Ugh… You really hate that much, huh?"
'How much force did this bitch put in that punch? Damn it, she was really trying to kill .'
"Don't flatter yourself," Dana snapped without a trace of sympathy. "Blood like yours isn't even worth taking note of. You, your father, your sister, be a good dog and know your place."
The pain pulsed through him like a wildfire, an almost unbearable mix of bruised muscles and raw, searing tornt that left him gasping. Every inch of his body felt like it had been battered; his stomach still throbbed with each shallow breath.
A bitter smile tugged at Jett's lips despite the pain. "But yet, you ca to my room personally," he retorted, his tone laced with defiance even as his body scread in protest.
"Don't think that just because you share a room with the Priestess you'll be spared from ," Dana seethed silently as she caught sight of Freya fast asleep. 'What was the principal thinking, letting these two stay together? I'll have to have a word with him, or maybe even Lady Valetta when I get the chance.'
Dana stepped closer to Jett, who lay face down on the floor.
"Alright, you've passed your ssage and I've heard everything you wanted to say. Please leave," Jett said, his voice laced with exhaustion and defeat.
Dana smirked as she squatted to get a better view of his face. "Good. That's how you should speak to … like a dog."
Jett's inner thoughts roiled, 'This crazy witch, just leave already,' even as she inched nearer.
[Dispel]
Suddenly, a brilliant flash of white light erupted in the room, bathing everything in a harsh, unyielding glow. In that blinding burst, Freya could see nothing but a weak Jett struggling on the floor, his form desperate, before the light abruptly faded away, leaving behind an eerie stillness.
"Hey, are you alright?" Freya cried, rushing to his side.
Jett's mind raced, 'She's gone? I guess Freya's skill canceled that cursed space she had active to tornt .' With Freya's unexpected help, he scrambled to his feet as if nothing had happened.
"Gosh, you ca at just the right ti and saved ," Jett said, his voice betraying a nervous edge.
"Saved you?" Freya asked, scanning the room for any lingering threat, though nothing seed out of place.
"Yeah," Jett replied with a light laugh, though his eyes sparkled with a mix of gratitude and mischief. 'Could have lost my cool and given her a beating. That would've been far more troubleso,' he mused internally.
Freya scoffed. "Playing pranks, huh? You need a ntal hospital. I'm going back to bed." With that, she turned and left for her bed.
Left alone, Jett trudged toward his own bed but it seed like the night wouldn't let him, a sudden ssage from Clarence got to him.
-Clarence- "Get here now or I'll drag you here myself! Unless you want to get expelled."
'You have got to be kidding .'
Jett's heart sank as the weight of Clarence's words pulsed nacingly through the room, reminding him that his night was far from over.
