Ethan Yardley deliberately led Sylvia Schuyler away from the hotel.

He didn’t want to waste another word on her.

He then called the island’s manager and told them to co get rid of this woman.

However!

But Sylvia wasn’t having it.

She quickly shouted at Ethan, who was still on the phone:

"You can’t do this to ! If you kick out now, I’ll tell Serena I was your fiancée. I’ll tell her you broke your promise to and married her instead, that she’s the real howrecker!"

Ethan lowered his phone. His expression turned sinister, his gaze like daggers.

The words that fell from his thin lips were chilling. "Do you have a death wish?"

With nothing left to lose, Sylvia retorted, "Either let stay as your secretary, or I’ll tell Serena the truth."

Ethan suddenly smiled.

But it was a wild, vicious smile. "I, Ethan Yardley, have never been threatened before."

He stood there, an overwhelming presence, radiating pure killing intent.

Seeing his expression, Sylvia unconsciously took a step back.

’She refused to believe this man would actually lay a hand on her.’

’Even if there were no feelings between them, Ethan owed her.’

’He had to pay his debt.’

Just then, the island manager rushed over with several bodyguards. He bowed his head timidly to Ethan and said:

"Mr. Yardley, my sincerest apologies. We failed to find her. We’ll escort her away at once."

As he spoke, several n moved to restrain Sylvia.

Unwilling to give up, Sylvia struggled and scread, "Ethan, how can you do this to ? You ruined my life!"

"You can’t be so heartless to just because you have Serena now! I’m in this ss today all thanks to you!"

"Drag her away. I don’t want to see her again."

It was a displeased command from Ethan.

It was only then that he realized just how loathso this woman was.

’If it weren’t for her, Serena never would have jumped into the river.’

’This ti, he couldn’t afford to be indecisive.’

Sylvia refused to be driven away by Ethan just like that.

’How could she leave and let him be all lovey-dovey with Serena here?’

’If they wanted to make her life difficult, then she’d make sure no one got to be happy.’

Sylvia ducked her head and bit down hard on the hand of the bodyguard holding her.

The bodyguard yelped and let go. The mont she was free, she made a mad dash for the hotel.

Ethan’s eyes flashed. "Stop her!" he barked.

The bodyguards took off after her.

But they were a step too late. Sylvia had already gotten into an elevator and was heading straight for Serena’s room.

Just as the bodyguards arrived, Sylvia was already at Serena’s door, pounding on it with all her might and screaming.

"Serena! Serena, open up!"

Serena, who was just about to get into bed, heard the commotion and went to the door, curious.

The mont she opened the door, Sylvia burst in, slamming it shut and locking it behind her.

Before Serena could even react, Sylvia frantically grabbed her and said:

"Serena, leave Ethan! It’s all his fault you jumped into the river and lost your mory!"

"Ethan was my fiancé. He only married you because I can’t have children and he needed soone to carry on the Yardley family line."

"But when you got pregnant, he suspected the baby wasn’t his, so he secretly sent soone to get rid of it."

"Serena, you need to open your eyes! Ethan doesn’t love you."

"After you miscarried, he didn’t even let you recover. To torture you, he forced you to sign an employnt contract and go work at his company."

"You need to stay far away from a monster like that! Don’t believe a word he says!"

Just then, the sounds of the bodyguards searching could be heard from outside.

"Search every room! Mr. Yardley’s orders! That woman is not to see Miss Yardley under any circumstances!"

Hearing the commotion outside, Sylvia grabbed Serena again, crying:

"Did you hear that? He wants to kill to shut up! Rember what I told you! Ethan is the one who killed your baby, and he’s the one who drove you to jump into that river!"

Serena was left speechless.

She stared blankly at the woman before her, the torrent of words leaving her feeling numb. She just stood there, unable to process any of it.

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

"Serena, are you asleep?"

It was Ethan’s voice.

Suddenly, Serena’s mind went blank.

She staggered back to the large bed.

Sylvia knew she couldn’t escape, but she had already achieved her goal.

She opened the door herself.

The tall figure of Ethan stood in the doorway. When he saw Sylvia, his face grew as cold and dark as a crypt, instilling a terrifying fear.

"Get her out of here," Ethan snarled.

The bodyguards rushed forward and dragged Sylvia away.

This ti, Sylvia didn’t struggle. She even laughed as they dragged her off.

Her laughter was jarring and shrill.

Ethan strode into the room.

Seeing her sitting on the bed, staring blankly out the window, he stepped closer and asked:

"Sylvia didn’t do anything to you, did she?"

Serena didn’t answer. Sylvia’s words were echoing in her mind.

’I’d been pregnant. And the baby was gone.’

’I jumped into the river and lost my mory because of him.’

’No wonder I rember everyone else, but not him.’

’It seems I instinctively wanted to forget him.’

At that mont, Serena felt a dull ache begin to spread through her chest.

"Serena, what’s wrong?"

Ethan asked again, concerned by her pale expression.

Serena still wouldn’t look at him. She sat perfectly still and asked in a cold voice:

"Was I pregnant before?"

A bad feeling suddenly washed over Ethan, but he didn’t deny it.

"That’s all in the past. We..."

"And I jumped in the river because of you, didn’t I?"

Serena cut him off.

Ethan’s heart clenched. He tried desperately to explain, "Serena, don’t listen to Sylvia’s lies. I love you..."

"Love ?"

Serena turned to him with a sad, bitter smile. "Love ? You loved so much you couldn’t even believe my child was yours, so you sent soone to get rid of it?"

Ethan froze, his expression incredulous. "Sylvia told you I got rid of the baby?"

"Why were you trying to get rid of Sylvia? To silence her?"

Serena ignored his question, pressing her own.

Ethan felt like he was being backed into a corner with no way to defend himself. But rembering Serena couldn’t get too agitated, he forced himself to explain calmly:

"I didn’t get rid of the baby. I didn’t even know you were pregnant."

"Serena, please, don’t overthink this. When your mory returns, you’ll understand everything."

"Let ask you one more thing. Did my jumping in the river have anything to do with you?"

Serena was eerily calm.

Her eyes bored into Ethan, cold and piercing.

Ethan’s gaze faltered. His guilt was obvious.

A bitter, desolate laugh escaped Serena.

"Maybe the reason I don’t rember you is because fate took pity on . It saw how much pain I was in and let forget all the terrible things."

"Ethan, I have no feelings for you now. Whatever happened between us in the past, I’m willing to let it go."

"But..."

"...please, give a divorce. I don’t want to stay with you just to repeat the sa mistakes."
