It wasn’t that Ethan Yardley had never thought about divorcing Serena Yardley.

But when he handed her the Divorce Agreent and saw her break down in despair, how could he bear to go through with it?

Supporting Sylvia Schuyler, he said, "Let take you ho first."

He didn’t want to talk about the divorce right now.

But Sylvia Schuyler relentlessly clung to the topic. "And where will you take ? Are you just going to send away so you can go back to being all lovey-dovey with Serena Yardley?

Ethan, you can’t be so cruel to . You’re the one who did this to . How can you just cast aside to love soone else?"

"Ethan, you’re all I have now. If you push away too, what reason is there for to go on living?"

She was threatening him with her own death.

Ethan Yardley felt a headache coming on. In a heavy voice, he said, "I’ll take you ho first. From now on, I’ll do my best to co and spend ti with you, but you can’t live here."

He had promised Serena he wouldn’t let Sylvia Schuyler into this house again.

Sylvia Schuyler lifted her eyes to et his gaze, her face streaked with tears. "Then you have to co back to our ho every day after work."

He had no choice now but to agree. "Okay."

Seeing she had gotten her way, Sylvia Schuyler quickly raised her hands and wrapped them around his neck. "My foot hurts. Carry back."

Ethan Yardley reluctantly picked her up, turned, and walked away from the ho he shared with Serena Yardley.

In reality, Serena Yardley hadn’t gone inside the house at all.

She stood behind the wall next to the iron gate, listening to the entire conversation between her husband and Sylvia Schuyler.

When she saw him carry Sylvia Schuyler away, she could no longer contain the crumbling emotions deep inside. She sank to the ground, hugged herself, and began to sob aloud.

She knew it was a foregone conclusion that he would leave her.

But in that mont, her heart still ached as if a knife were being dragged through it.

She was in so much pain.

’Why does he always treat like this?’

’Giving hope one mont, only to cruelly shatter it the next.’

’Can’t he just let be happy for a little while longer?’

After a long, long ti, Serena Yardley finally pulled herself together and went into the house alone.

That night, she stayed on the living room sofa and didn’t go back to her room.

She just wanted to wait and see if he would co back.

But not only did she wait all night for him to return in vain, he didn’t even call her.

Her heart cold with despair, Serena Yardley only went back to her room to sleep when the sun ca up.

「Ten in the morning.」

Raina was leaning over the edge of Serena Yardley’s bed, shaking her awake. "Serena, you said you’d take out to play today! Get up, let’s go have so fun!"

Despite being exhausted, Serena Yardley got up, washed up, and took Raina out.

Gabriel Galloway wasn’t around today.

Serena Yardley called a car, which took them to a nearby mall.

Normally, Raina never had the chance to go out by herself.

She certainly didn’t have the freedom of a normal child, able to just go shopping for whatever she liked.

Now that she was finally free, she went wild, dragging Serena Yardley all over the mall.

They eventually wandered into an arcade. Raina was engrossed in a motorcycle racing ga, and Serena Yardley put her bubble tea down beside her, saying:

"Raina, you stay here and don’t move, okay? I’m just going to the restroom."

Raina Yardley waved a hand dismissively. "Go on, go on. You don’t need to worry about ."

Serena Yardley figured a ten-year-old like Raina should be obedient enough. With that thought, she turned and went to find the restroom.

As she was heading for the restroom, she was surprised to see two n in black erge from the hallway ahead, advancing toward her nacingly.

Serena Yardley recognized one of them—it was the man who had been following them during their shopping trip yesterday.

Realizing this was bad, she turned to run.

But to her dismay, another man appeared from behind, blocking her path.

This one, however, was different from the other two.

He was tall and dressed in clean, expensive-looking casual wear, with sharp, well-defined features.

He looked like a dashing young master from a wealthy family.

Serena Yardley saw him continuing to approach. The three n had her cornered, leaving her with no way to retreat.

A sudden panic seized her. She asked timidly, "Who... who are you people? Why do you keep following ?"

She was certain she didn’t know these n.

The man strode forward, stopping about a ter away from Serena Yardley.

His sharp brows knitted together as he stared at Serena Yardley with a cold, grim expression.

"Who we are isn’t important. I just want to warn you: stay away from Gabriel Galloway. If I see you with him again, don’t bla for what happens next."

Serena Yardley was completely bewildered. "I barely even know Gabriel Galloway. You must have misunderstood sothing."

"You know perfectly well whether you know him or not. Cherish your life. Stay away from Gabriel Galloway."

The man didn’t seem to have any real intention of harming Serena Yardley. After delivering his warning, he gave a look, and the two n in black followed him away.

Serena Yardley was left standing there, completely baffled.

anwhile, not far away.

By sheer coincidence, Sylvia Schuyler happened to witness the scene of the three n surrounding Serena Yardley.

After snapping a photo, she saw that the three n left without doing anything to Serena Yardley, so she quickly put her phone away and followed them.

Just as they were entering the parking garage to leave, Sylvia Schuyler stepped forward and called out, "Wait."

The three n stopped and turned around.

Sylvia Schuyler could tell that among the three, the two on the sides were bodyguards, and the one in the middle was a young master.

She addressed the young master directly. "Excuse , sir, do you know my friend, Serena Yardley?"

Serena Yardley?

’The Serena Yardley that Gabriel Galloway likes?’

Quentin Montgory remained expressionless and didn’t deny it.

Sylvia Schuyler pressed on, "Do you like my friend?"

Quentin Montgory still didn’t speak, rely glancing at Sylvia Schuyler with a cold, unapproachable deanor.

Sylvia Schuyler continued, "If you like her, I can help you."

Quentin Montgory asked casually, "Who are you?"

"? I’m Serena Yardley’s best friend. Here, let give you my contact information. From now on, you can ask anything about Serena."

With that, Sylvia Schuyler proactively handed her phone number to Quentin Montgory.

Quentin Montgory didn’t refuse. He took it, glanced at it, and turned to get into his car without another word.

Sylvia Schuyler watched the man leave without giving any clear indication of his thoughts. ’He really has the air of a big shot.’

’But still, for an orphan like Serena Yardley, how does she know so many people with such impressive backgrounds?’

’Are all these rich n blind?’

’How could they possibly fall for Serena Yardley?’

The thought that Ethan Yardley would be coming to her place after work tonight lifted Sylvia Schuyler’s spirits. She turned and headed back into the mall.

When Serena Yardley returned to the arcade, Raina was still playing.

She stayed with her for two hours before the little girl finally had her fill.

The two of them continued to wander around, sipping their bubble tea.

Spotting a claw machine in the distance, Raina said excitedly, "Serena, I want to get that one!"

Serena Yardley agreed. "Okay, I’ll go get so tokens."

Who would have thought that the mont she turned, she would run into Sylvia Schuyler.

Sylvia Schuyler was dressed in a sexy, fashionable outfit, her makeup flawless.

She walked up to Serena Yardley, a triumphant smile on her face. "Serena Yardley, what a coincidence. Want to grab a al together?"

The very sight of this woman made Serena Yardley feel sick to her stomach.

Though her fra was small, she stood before Sylvia Schuyler with a fierce, intimidating aura that warned others not to provoke her.

"Ma’am, are we close? Please stop appearing in front of . I’m allergic to won like you."

She deliberately shouldered past Sylvia Schuyler and went to get tokens for Raina Yardley.

Hearing Serena Yardley call her "Ma’am" made Sylvia Schuyler’s face turn green with rage.

She relentlessly followed Serena Yardley, taunting her. "Do you know what Ethan said to last night as we lay in bed?"

"..."

Serena Yardley clenched her fists, trying hard to suppress the rage boiling inside her.

Sylvia Schuyler leaned in closer and said, "Ethan said... you’re like a dead fish in bed. That you’ve never once satisfied him."
