At night...
The mines would reopen and ores would stack but the bigger question lingered.
How would I sell it?
Where would I sell it?
I still haven’t paid attention to that fact, the entire region was covered by a shimring mbrane like structure.
I didn’t find any way to go out.
There was no place within the region to trade from, no portals were present for transportation too.
Just how did these survive until now?
I decided to find a room within the castle.. which contained the previous transaction record.
I road around endlessly—searching various rooms. Until I finally discovered the one with records.
It was a room full of administrative look—one could infer it just from seeing it once.
A big comfortable chair lay beside in front—of a big desk. The room contained various fantastical pictures.
Mainly creatures, like the horses pulling the carriage, so spirit, wraiths and a familiar figure’s portrait.
The man whose portrait was it, shared similar traits with . Dark black hair, sharp scarlet eyes and overall a chiseled visage.
The figure was old, like in their 40s, so they had that look.
Maybe he was my father...maybe soone else.
My parents should be immortal as they were married, right? But just marrying doesn’t make you immortal.
It was easy but not that easy—you need to love your partner unconditionally and they should reciprocate the feelings too.
Only then both of them would gain immortality.
I was the 1017th child of the Sanguis. aning I had 1016 siblings, my parents should be immortal.
How could a normal person produce this number of children? It won’t make any sense....
On to the important objective.
I searched the room looking for previous records. Luckily I found them pretty quickly.
They were beneath the drawers not exactly hidden but pretty secured.
Opening the parchnt type of paper—I was not welcod by blinding lights like the ancient scribble.
The parchnt was normal paper. It contained the records exactly like a normal paper too, just like I wanted.
Reading it....
I found that the town was pretty stable previously, there was a constant supply of ores excavated and our overall reputation was positive in other realms...
Realms...
’Baldy’ also gave an example out of them. From it, I understood— like they were continents.. nurous continents—acting like planets.
Instead of moving around a sun in a solar system, they existed independently in a separate space.
The concept was sick and I liked it.
But the problem was transportation...
These bitches destroyed the portal which was used as a dium of transportation.
Just how much brain capacity these morons lacked....
The only way we were comunicating with outside world was through fucking debt collectors.
They had so other devices through which they could freely enter and exit.
That’s why they continued to deteriorate....
I was holding my head groaning...when I heard footsteps entering the room.
I looked to notice Laura..she was holding so other parchnts.
"She was the one who did all the paperwork," I questioned in my mind.
This was pretty neat, I could use her expertise. My overall workload could heavily decrease that way.
I would be able to focus on freely getting stronger then.
She was surprised that I was reading the records.
There was a hint of amusent in her eyes—she couldn’t hide it from .
she finally understood that I was genuinely trying to do stuff here.
I didn’t waste much ti.
I uttered the main question. "Is there any way? We can reconstruct the portal."
She smiled faintly, rely amused. "They are natural formations. We could find them, constructing?"
She shook her head in disappointnt. "No chance."
I really didn’t need any other philosophical bs.
I got up from my seat—I snatched the parchnts in her hands.
Looking at them...
They were research papers.. about possible locations of portals around the region.
I was surprised—she was so fucking competent. I genuinely wanted to hug her but that would make her mood worse.
So, I refrained from doing it.
Still I didn’t back out from praising her.
"Aren’t you competent? This is actually such a precious detail."
It didn’t locate the exact location...of course, but this much was good.
According to it, there were like 1 portal at each area—Southern, Eastern, Northern, and at last Western.
East was the mountain region—the portal there was destroyed by those incompetent pieces of trash.
And they still had the audacity to call trash. Laura could call that, she had the permission from now on.
Those bastards had destroyed the one in the Southern region too...
Utter morons....
So, the only remaining ones were the Western and Northern.
Northern area was dangerous—according to the parchnt, the portal should be near the edges of the portal.
So, worst case. I would visit that place.
Currently, I was more inclined towards the western deserts.
It was a barren land, species there would be poisonous and extrely annoying.
But I was immune to external resistance—Chaos Embryonic Core. It was ti to test my abilities.
It was ti to visit the western deserts.
