In the late hours of the shattered dinsion, Divine, Corey, and lissa sat in Divine's room with Corey seating on the chair and lissa and Divine seating on the bed.
"So let get this straight, a ssenger of Prince Zeran of the Scorching Sun Kingdom ca to your room and invited you to join the prince in a 'great battle' against a great and mighty being of the shattered dinsion?"
Divine asked with an expression filled with disbelief and confusion as he stared at Corey who sat with a calm and indifferent expression on his face.
"That's right." Corey took a second to reply, and when he did, Divine's lips twitched repeatedly.
He turned towards lissa and exclaid with a frustrated and disbelieving tone, "Can you imagine this lissa? What the hell, we just entered this inn and he's already gotten himself in trouble."
"We have no idea if this is trouble, Cap." lissa replied with a light tone and a smile, but Divine pointed at Corey and shouted again.
"It's clearly trouble. He's always getting himself in trouble."
lissa shook her head and Corey tilted his head to the side with his brows raised.
"The last ti I rember, your very presence made it more difficult for Dave to survive."
Divine paused with a twisted expression, and just as he was about to make a retort at Corey's words, Corey spoke with a slow and calm tone.
"Also, because you were caught by the Lord of the Central Area and because of the beef you and your family have with the House of Hellfire, you almost caused the death of our companions… I wonder who's always bringing trouble to our front door among the two of us… Cap."
Divine swallowed back the words he was about to say, and with a depressed expression and his shoulders slouched, he replied with a low tone.
"I'm just surprised and shocked that the ssenger of Prince Zeran would choose to et you instead of . Or did he knock on my door but because I was sleeping, he didn't answer?"
Divine mumbled, and although Corey knew the answer to Divine's nonsensical question, he chose not to answer.
'Poor Divine, while you were sleeping, the girl you love was riding another man.' Corey's gaze involuntarily landed on lissa. lissa noticed his gaze and gave him a light smile, and Corey calmly looked away without a change in his expression.
"To not waste any ti, do you know anything about Prince Zeran and the Scorching Sun Kingdom?" Corey asked while looking at Divine.
Although Corey told Brandon he was interested in the battle against the 'great and mighty being' of the shattered dinsion, he did not plan on eting or encountering a Prince of a Kingdom he had no knowledge of.
It was just too dangerous for him. Luckily, he had Divine who was his best source of knowledge regarding a lot of things.
Divine furrowed his brows slightly after Corey asked the question. He remained silent for three seconds, and then he replied.
"Prince Zeran is a cold, calculative, and manipulative individual. He's the 14th son of the King of the Scorching Sun Kingdom, and his story is one you'd usually read in novels… A story of luck, an opportunity, and the rise of a weakling to a powerful and feared individual."
Corey and lissa had interested expressions when they heard this, and they shifted slightly in their seats as they listened to Divine.
"Although Prince Zeran was the son of the King of the Scorching Sun Kingdom, his mother was a maid, and because of this, he faced a lot of difficulties, persecutions, and mockery from the people around him."
"The public of the Scorching Sun Kingdom believed that Zeran's mother was secretly a powerful demon with bewitching powers, and through her lies and trickery, she slept with the King and gave birth to a son so that he could fight for the throne. However, Zeran's mother was just a re Tier 4 and a maid. She was none of this"
"Surprisingly, unsurprisingly, and unfortunately, the majority of the public believed these lies. They beheaded Zeran's mother, and the King and her son watched all of this happen… Despite the pleas and cries of Zeran as a re six years old, nobody could help him and he had to watch his mother get beheaded."
Divine paused for a few seconds with a slightly dazed look. He then released a soft sigh, and continued.
"Assuming Zeran was talented enough, maybe they would have decided to spare his mother and developed him as a weapon of the kingdom instead. However, he was not talented enough."
"Although he had the genes of his father who was extrely powerful, his mother's genes affected these genes, thereby making his foundations much weaker than his other siblings."
"If I'm to use the current power system for stats, his stat limit was equivalent to the Yellow Star Realm, and this is equivalent to the stat limit of a normal human. Compared to his brothers and sisters who had stats limits in the Blue Star Realm and Indigo Star Realm, he was way too weak."
"He lived an extrely difficult life, and he almost died at the hands of so of his siblings, commoners, and even servants of his family because of how talentless he was. The sufferings he went through made him cold, calculating, manipulative, and cruel even to those around him. He made use of those that were useful to him and he discarded anybody that was useless to him even if the person had been useful to him in the past."
"Although he suffered greatly, he never gave up and he continued working hard, learning, and practicing to improve himself. He made sure to reach his stat limit when he was a Tier 0, Tier 1, and Tier 2, but it was not enough at all."
"Progressing was becoming more and more difficult for him, and then he decided to go to an extrely dangerous place in his kingdom to find an opportunity to obtain imnse strength. I have no idea how he did it, but when everybody thought he was going to die in that place, he lived and ca back much stronger than before."
"I don't know what opportunity or treasure he got in that place, but whatever he got, his hardworking, cruel, manipulative, and cold nature allowed him to rise up in the rankings of his family."
"Now, he's one of the contenders for the position of the Crown Prince, and if I'm correct, this Battle of Chosens is vital for
him and for the other Chosens." Your next read is at My Virtual Library Empire
