As Illya watched her mother fall backward, regret overwheld her heart.

She regretted letting fear paralyze her—if only she had reacted quicker, her mother wouldn't be hurt.

She regretted trying to act strong—knowing full well her magic couldn't harm the giant, she should have imdiately flown away with her mother. The cape on her back wasn't just for decoration; it was a piece of conceptual equipnt infused with high-level levitation magecraft, allowing her to fly freely. If she had used it to escape from the sky with her mother, they wouldn't be in this situation.

Why, why, why, why, why, why, why—why am I so useless?

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no—Mom, don't die!

Her inner regret couldn't change the course of events, and her tears couldn't save her mother from impending death.

The greatest tragedy for any family was about to unfold, and the girl was powerless, forced to watch as either her innocent heart was shattered by cruel reality, or a miracle occurred.

Then, she heard a sigh.

"Ahh..."

The mont the voice fell, a shadow flashed by. In that critical instant, soone saved Irisviel from the giant's axe blade—and also saved Illya from the abyss of despair that threatened to consu her heart.

"Mom!!!"

Seeing her mother rescued, Illya instinctively wanted to rush forward and embrace her.

But the shadow—the woman dressed in a simple outfit, with a scarf and sunglasses covering her face—turned around and scolded:

"Don't co over! Run!"

"But—"

"No buts! I'll take care of her. Honestly, how could Kerry, such a clever man, have such a foolish wife and daughter?"

"Kerry?"

Irisviel, now held by the strange woman, softly repeated the na, which sounded vaguely familiar.

"And how much smarter are you than they are?" ca another sigh, from a voice unfamiliar to both Irisviel and Illya.

A gunshot rang out, followed by the giant's deafening roar.

"■■■■■■■■■■■■────!"

But compared to its previous roars, filled with rage and killing intent, this one sounded different.

Looking over, they saw a shocking sight: blood sprayed into the air. The terrifying giant, who had seed impervious to all attacks, was bleeding.

It was hurt.

The giant's right arm—its blood vessels had burst, and its muscles were twisted as if they had exploded from the inside. Half of the arm had been torn off.

With such a severe injury, the giant could no longer hold its massive axe-sword, and its relentless attacks ca to a halt.

The newcor's voice continued: "If you've been saved, you shouldn't stop—keep running. You're not going to be as foolish as the little girl and think you can fight this monster, right?"

"Because I know you won't leave us behind," replied the strange woman who had rescued Irisviel, her tone noticeably lighter.

Another figure appeared on the wall surrounding the Emiya household. Another woman, also with her face obscured by sunglasses and a scarf, but this ti dressed more appropriately for the winter, wearing a black coat. She held a gun in each hand, one of which was lowered, smoke rising from its barrel. The other was still firing relentlessly at the motionless giant, emptying the entire magazine. While shooting, she spoke:

"It's hard to say. The enemy is such a terrifying creature. Even using the last Origin Bullet the kid left behind only caused so little damage. Any normal magus would have been dead from the magical backlash by now. Hey, why are you still standing there? Run! The enemy isn't dead yet. If he—"

Before she could finish her sentence, the giant tilted its head back and roared again. The injured right arm began to glow an unnatural red.

"■■■■■■■■■■■■────!"

The giant's dark blue-black skin had always looked as hard as steel, but now it resembled a piece of red-hot iron. No, it didn't just look like it—it was like a piece of iron, heated until it glowed red.

Heating iron, making it red-hot, is done for forging—shaping it into weapons or other tools. The giant's reddened body followed a similar principle, re-forging its damaged areas until they returned to their original state.

"Self-repair! This is bad, we need to go! Once he finishes recovering, it'll be too late!" the woman with the dual pistols shouted, urging everyone to flee. The three in the courtyard wasted no ti, running in the opposite direction of the giant.

However, the giant's recovery was faster than anyone had imagined. In just over twenty seconds, before they could even leave the courtyard, the giant had fully healed. He picked up the fallen axe-sword and once again transford into a whirlwind, sweeping through the courtyard.

Perhaps because of the increase in enemies, the giant's strength and speed had risen to a new level, turning its attacks into a full-blown storm. While Illya and the woman in the simple outfit had managed to react earlier, now they could barely keep up with the giant's movents.

The woman in the simple outfit, still holding Irisviel, was about to leap onto the wall when the giant caught up, swinging its massive weapon in a wide arc. The blow shattered the wall and sent both the woman and Irisviel flying.

The woman had used all her strength to adjust her position, ensuring that the flat side of the axe-sword, rather than its blade, hit them. Otherwise, they would have been cut in half. Even so, both won were sent flying with broken bones, unable to get back up.

Seeing this, the woman in the black coat quickly raised her guns, now reloaded, and fired at the giant, hoping to draw its attention.

The mindless giant, driven only by its instinct to kill, indeed stopped targeting the two fallen won, but this left the coat-wearing woman in danger instead.

The giant charged forward with its usual brute force, its movents simple but devastating. Despite her best efforts, the woman in the coat dodged only two attacks before suffering the sa fate, being swatted aside and crashing into the rubble.

"Look at , you damned monster!"

Pink magic energy shot down from the sky, hitting the giant's head. Illya had successfully taken to the air and could escape at any mont, but she couldn't leave her mother and her saviors behind. She fired magic blasts while flying, imitating the coat-wearing woman's tactic.

"You idiot, just run!" the woman in the coat cursed through bloodied lips, struggling to raise her gun. But she was too slow. Before she could fire, the giant threw its axe-sword at Illya.

Illya barely dodged the weapon, but she couldn't avoid the giant's follow-up leap. Its massive hand struck her, and the levitation magecraft wasn't enough to counter the giant's overwhelming strength. Like an angel with broken wings, Illya wobbled as she fell from the sky—crashing into a warehouse in the corner of the courtyard.
