The man looked at Yan Wanqing in astonishnt.

"What on earth are you blabbering about?!"

Seeing that he remained as such, Yan Wanqing directly reached out with her left hand to touch his face, trying to find the edge of so mask around his face, but found nothing.

She furrowed her brows, "How can there be nothing."

This voice, this height, these actions, they were clearly Xiao Pingfeng’s.

She knew her feelings couldn’t be wrong.

"Mad and senseless, without manners," the man extended his hand to push away Yan Wanqing’s hand, warning her, "Although you are very beautiful and pretty, my heart already belongs to soone else, and I am determined not to be influenced by you."

Having said that, he didn’t give Yan Wanqing another glance and walked away.

Yan Wanqing’s fingertips still retained the warmth of his cheek.

She stood there, stunned.

What in the world was going on?

Could she really have mistaken him for soone else?

Without the man’s help, Yan Wanqing struggled for quite a while in the Formation before finally making it back to her room, where Zhuo Ma was already waiting anxiously for her.

"The wound has split open again; you shouldn’t have gone out," Zhuo Ma said in a tone that was concerned yet reprimanding, warming Yan Wanqing’s heart.

She, a bit embarrassed, changed the subject, "So, the person who saved was a tall and rather good-looking man?"

"Have you already t him? How was it, did you enjoy each other’s company? He was saved by Gesang and will probably leave after a while."

"Gesang?" Yan Wanqing chewed over the na, suddenly feeling caught between conflicting emotions.

Zhuo Ma nodded, "Gesang is the prettiest girl around here, and she is to marry the City Lord of Xiliang City in the future."

Gesang... was a girl.

Zhuo Ma helped Yan Wanqing clean her wound again, instructing her to stay absolutely still for the next three days and not to carelessly get out of bed.

Out of kindness and tenderness, Zhuo Ma even threatened Yan Wanqing, "If you don’t behave, I won’t help you wash your hair."

Yan Wanqing was quite susceptible to this approach, and indeed stayed in bed for the following three days without getting down.

On the morning of the fourth day, as Zhuo Ma pushed open the door, she saw Yan Wanqing on the bed, staring at her with shining eyes, "Can I remove the splints now? Can you help wash my hair now?"

Her beauty, combined with the softness of her voice just after waking up, nearly lted Zhuo Ma, who found it impossible to refuse her.

So Zhuo Ma, with Yan Wanqing who was still sowhat limping, slowly walked out of the Formation to wash her hair outside.

"Just stand still later, and I will wash it for you. Don’t move around, the wound hasn’t healed, and you mustn’t get it wet."

Yan Wanqing nodded, "Okay, I’ll listen to you."

This was her first glance at the outside world in several days.

It was a town built of red walls, perfectly integrated with the wilderness, where houses supported and complented each other in an intricate and interwoven layout. Though the village was small, it was exquisitely detailed everywhere, each part infused with Formation.

It was truly mysterious.

Yan Wanqing was srized.

She even couldn’t help wanting to chat with the creator of this village, curious about what kind of person could think to build a village in this way.

"Oh right, your longsword is now kept in Gesang’s house, I’ll take you to get it later," Zhuo Ma said as she helped Yan Wanqing remove the hairpins from her hair, adding, "Your soft armor, too, it’s all kept together."

"Mm, okay," Yan Wanqing nodded, withdrawing her gaze.

Zhuo Ma brought two basins of hot water, helped her wash her hair, and afterwards ticulously dried it with a clean, soft cloth.

As the weather was quite hot, Yan Wanqing simply let her long black hair down, following Zhuo Ma to retrieve her belongings from Gesang’s house.

On the narrow paths wrapped around by the village, elders and children could be seen everywhere, chatting and playing joyfully in the shade, making the place seem like a serene haven.

Seeing how enchanted Yan Wanqing was, Zhuo Ma smiled and comnted, "You seem to really like our village."

"A peaceful retreat, a paradise beyond the world," Yan Wanqing didn’t skimp on her praise.

After walking a short while longer, Zhuo Ma ca to a halt.

"We’re here."

Yan Wanqing looked up to see a house adorned with multicolored flowers on its window, strikingly exquisite and lovely. In front of the house was a round table where a few young people were seated, chatting and laughing rrily.

The young man whom Yan Wanqing had mistakenly identified as Xiao Pingfeng in the formation was among them.

At this mont, he was saying sothing to the young man beside him, the smile at the corner of his eyes so familiar it made Yan Wanqing’s heart twinge with a tinge of sourness.

She just couldn’t believe that this person wasn’t Xiao Pingfeng.

He was so similar, in every gesture and move.

Yet, if it was Xiao Pingfeng, why hadn’t he acknowledged her?

Had he not forgiven her?

A bitter taste filled Yan Wanqing’s heart as she followed behind Zhuo Ma, approaching the table.

"We’ve co to retrieve this young lady’s belongings, Gesang."

The girl called Gesang was dressed in a white gauze skirt, her features delicate and eyes profound, exuding an exotic charm. She looked at Yan Wanqing delightedly and said, "So you’re the one Yizhi saved that night; you are really beautiful."

Yan Wanqing replied with a smile, "Lady Gesang is also graced with stunning beauty that captivates the heart."

Yizhi, was that his alias? Yan Wanqing wondered to herself.

Gesang tilted her head, looking very interested in Yan Wanqing, "You’re really cultured, complinting with an idiom no less."

Yan Wanqing, unsure how to continue, just smiled faintly in response.

Suddenly rembering sothing, Gesang said, "I’ll go get your things." She flitted into the room like a graceful white butterfly and soon ca out carrying a long sword and a bundle.

The sword was heavy.

So Gesang struggled to carry it when she brought it out.

Panting, she called out, "Yizhi, co help , I can’t carry it anymore; this sword is too heavy."

Yizhi hurried over and took both items from Gesang’s arms.

Gesang, with a tender and coquettish smile, said to Yizhi, "Thank you, Yizhi!"

The young man who was coaxed smiled back at her, his eyes twinkling like stars.

Watching this scene, Yan Wanqing suddenly felt a blockage in her heart.

Disguised, pretending not to recognize her, while flirting with another woman.

Cold water seed to pour over Yan Wanqing’s head, one bucket after another, nearly extinguishing all her passion.

But then she thought about how she had treated him similarly before.

Yan Wanqing felt a hint of understanding in her heart.

It was still necessary to find the right mont to talk things out properly.

"Here." Yizhi handed the bundle and the sword over to Yan Wanqing.

Yan Wanqing slung the bundle over her back and held the sword in one hand, "Thank you."

"Wow, you can lift it with just one hand, you are so amazing!" Gesang couldn’t help but exclaim to Yan Wanqing.

Yan Wanqing gripped the sword tightly, "It’s nothing special, just a knack."

"You’ve used another idiom; you look so beautiful, know so many idioms, and are skilled in martial arts – you’re just too perfect," Gesang couldn’t help saying, "Are you betrothed?"

Betrothed?

Yan Wanqing subconsciously looked towards Yizhi, noticing that he did not glance at her at all.

She nodded, "Yes."
