Raina said blandly, "Whether I agree or disagree, didn’t Grandpa already make it clear before?"

"You!" Brenda Adler saw Auntie Warren looking over at her and gritted her teeth fiercely, "If I apologize, will you agree to apologize to the old man?"

Raina was a bit surprised. Initially, she thought Brenda would definitely hold her ground until the end, which would have been the expected thing to do.

But no.

Brenda was actually planning to apologize to her.

It seed sothing had happened that she was unaware of.

Raina silently noted it down and said calmly to Brenda, "Whether you apologize or not, I’ll still perform the surgery for Grandpa. This has nothing to do with you. The reason I agreed to Grandpa’s request is to make him feel at ease and to disgust you. So far, it’s been quite successful."

"Raina!" Brenda’s anger soared imdiately. With a ferocious look, as if wanting to bite Raina, she gritted her teeth, "You’re sothing! You really are sothing!"

"Not too bad." Raina raised her chin slightly, "If Ms. Adler has no other business, please leave. You don’t want to step into my house, and I equally don’t want to see you."

Brenda turned abruptly at these words.

"Ms. Adler." Raina suddenly called out to her, "There’s one thing I must tell you, from the mont I opened the door, I’ve been recording everything. So don’t cry to the dia saying you begged to save Grandpa once you leave. If you dare to do that, don’t bla for tearing your facade off, and it won’t look good then, will it?"

Brenda froze.

Claire North turned her head sharply to look at Raina. If she hadn’t been biting her tongue, she would have scread.

She felt as if all her plans had been seen through by Raina.

That feeling was terrible, like standing naked on the street.

"Raina, this ti you’ve won, but don’t think you’ll always win. One day you’ll know what it’s like to lose!"

"Let’s talk about it when the ti cos. Anyway, the ones tasting defeat now are you, not ." After a pause, Raina continued, "It seems you all keep losing. Hang in there, though beating isn’t easy... people need dreams to live, otherwise, what’s the difference between them and salted fish? Am I right?"

Brenda trembled with anger at Raina’s sarcasm, with a fierce look as if she wanted to tear Raina apart.

Luckily, they still had a shred of rationality left.

"Raina, you’re sothing else. This isn’t over between us!"

"No, please don’t let it be over. After all, I’m straight, and I have no interest in an old hag like you. Please forgive for that, Ms. Adler."

Brenda shot Raina a vicious glare, "Raina, keep acting tough. Let’s see how long you can keep it up!"

"How long, I can’t say, but in your lifeti, you won’t get to see it." Watching Brenda leave in a fury, Raina first smiled, then the smile slowly faded from her lips.

A hint of sadness flashed in her eyes.

"Raina," Shea ca over, hugging Raina’s waist, "Why let that old witch off so easily when she ca begging on her knees?"

Raina stroked Shea’s head, sighed, and said, "No matter how much she’s wronged now, there’s one thing I can’t deny for a lifeti, which is that she raised for eighteen years. From the mont my true identity was revealed, she hated to the bone, but I’ve always rembered her care. Just on this point, I can’t really confront her with weapons. Otherwise, let alone others, I couldn’t even get past my own conscience."
