Pei Yansi remained silent, focusing seriously on the food in front of him while his peripheral vision observed Shen Heyu.
After noticing her blushing, he felt sowhat amused inside.
He couldn’t help but recall her charm from the previous night.
Dinner was a bit uncomfortable to eat; Pei Yansi quickly took a few bites and then, after the lunch break, went to work with Shen Heyu.
The two were secretly married, and they never went to work together. Even if they left at the sa ti, they would take separate cars and go their separate ways.
Today, just like usual, Shen Heyu walked to her car, intending to drive off, but before she could get in, Pei Yansi behind her called out, “Get in my car.”

“Is that a good idea?” Shen Heyu said, “What if soone sees us?”

Her heartfelt words ca out, but she saw the man’s expression darken, and he said, “What, are you afraid of being seen with ? Are you embarrassed to be with ?”
“…” Shen Heyu was at a loss for words, feeling like he was being unreasonable as she pulled open the door of her car, wanting to get in.
But Pei Yansi wasn’t willing to give her the chance. He quickly grabbed her hand, leading her toward his car without saying a word, his expression already looking unhappy.
Seeing this, Shen Heyu didn’t bother to struggle in vain. After all, if he wasn’t worried, why should she be?
The driver drove toward the Pei Building.
Seeing the car was about to reach its destination behind a small corner, Shen Heyu said, “Just drop off here in front.”
“We’ll go in together.”
Pei Yansi flatly rejected her request. The driver, of course, chose to listen to him and drove the car straight to the company’s entrance.
With no other option, Shen Heyu braced herself to get out of the car and entered the company, Pei Yansi following closely behind her, appearing as if they had arrived together.
Upon entering the elevator, Shen Heyu saw that the people inside were all colleagues from her departnt, one of them being the assistant Yun Duo.
As soon as Yun Duo saw her coming in with Pei Yansi, her eyes were imdiately filled with gossip.
Shen Heyu felt very uncomfortable under such a gaze, especially with the surrounding colleagues also staring at them. She lowered her head as if trying to avoid sothing.
This scene, in Pei Yansi’s eyes, looked as if she was afraid of being seen with him. Pei Yansi let out a cold laugh without saying anything.
Shen Heyu felt as if she were being roasted on a fire, very uneasy. The elevator ride of less than a minute, to her, felt like it had lasted several hours. Finally, when the elevator reached their floor, she was the first to go out, her departing figure carrying a hint of fleeing in panic.
Pei Yansi looked at her retreating back, his gaze filled with an enigmatic aning.
As soon as Shen Heyu entered, Yun Duo followed into the office and asked, “Director Shen, how co you ca to work with President Pei today?”
Shen Heyu felt a headache coming on. She got along well with Yun Duo, so she casually prevaricated, “We just happened to bump into each other on the way, let’s get to work.”
“Is that really all it was?”
Yun Duo’s face was full of disbelief, her eyes also held so doubt, but seeing that Shen Heyu didn’t seem to want to continue the conversation, it would be rude to ask any further.
She stopped talking and turned to leave Director Shen’s office, but as soon as she stepped out, she began gossiping with her colleagues outside.
Many colleagues already knew about what happened between Director Shen and Pei Yansi in the elevator. As soon as Yun Duo opened her mouth, the gossip spread like a stone thrown into still water, causing ripples everywhere.
“But isn’t President Pei with Bai Sheng’er? How did he get involved with Director Shen?”
“Do we even need to ask? Which rich man doesn’t have several won?”
“But I don’t feel like it’s like that. There doesn’t seem to be anything going on between Director Shen and President Pei. He was even holding Bai Sheng’er in the elevator.”
“I’m not so sure. Otherwise, why don’t we make a bet and see which woman ends up by President Pei’s side?”
Soone in the office proposed the bet. The normally boring work had made everyone weary, so everyone eagerly agreed to this exciting wager.
They even started to discuss the stakes for the bet.
At the sa ti, Bai Sheng’er heard the gossip in her own office and felt irritated. She got up with her cup and entered the pantry.
She had just wanted so peace but didn’t expect that the gossip had already spread to the pantry. Moreover, she overheard that the betting odds favored Shen Heyu as President Pei’s partner, mainly because they believed her capabilities surpassed her own.
Failing to find the peace she sought and instead becoming more agitated, Bai Sheng’er suppressed her discontentnt, cast a cold look at the gossiping staff, and warned them before returning to her office.
Upon entering, she encountered a newcor waiting for her with docunts in hand.
She recognized this new person. His na was Lin Yiran, and he had been hired just a couple of days ago. Her departnt didn’t actually need any more people, but Lin Yiran’s family had so background. He didn’t want to inherit the family business but instead craved to make sothing of himself. Since the Lin and Pei families’ companies did so business together, Yansi had placed him there.
Lin Yiran was hardworking and very enthusiastic.
Upon seeing Bai Sheng’er, he promptly approached and said, “The strategic proposal you asked to work on is ready. Please have a look.”
Lin Yiran politely handed her the docunts.
Bai Sheng’er glanced at him, flipped through the docunts casually, praised him briefly, and then let him go. However, she reminded him to rember to attend the departnt eting that afternoon.
After Lin Yiran left, Bai Sheng’er started to look over his proposal seriously. She had to admit, the proposal made by this boy next door was really impressive.
It was at least eye-catching.
Looking at the proposal, a sly expression flickered in Bai Sheng’er’s eyes.
Soon enough, it was ti for the afternoon departnt eting, and everyone gathered in the conference room.
This ti, they not only had to praise Shen Heyu for beautifully resolving a public relations issue but also discuss the strategic proposal, which Pei Yansi had personally handed over to Bai Sheng’er.
In the eting room, Pei Yansi sat with a cool gaze that swept over the attendees before saying, “Have all the proposals been completed? I haven’t seen any that satisfy .”
Everyone could detect the displeasure in his voice, and none dared to speak up.
Seeing the situation, Bai Sheng’er quickly took out her proposal and handed it to President Pei’s assistant, saying, “Please take a look.”
The assistant projected the proposal onto the big screen with a projector so everyone in the eting could see it.
Shen Heyu looked up at the content, impressed. Even though she didn’t know who was responsible for the proposal, she was certain that Bai Sheng’er wasn’t capable of producing it.
Without giving any face, she stood up and said to Pei Yansi, “This proposal wasn’t done by her.”
