Chapter 301: Chapter 301: Take Good Care of Yourself
He went to et with the Chen Family’s mbers, his relatives from that side of the family.
And she, as an outsider, what was there for her to do? They obviously didn’t know each other. If she went, her position would only be awkward, not to ntion that Chen Lingng was there.
She was no fool, of course, she could tell that Chen Lingng was keen to find an opportunity to have so private conversation ti with Pei Yansi, and clearly, the elders of the Chen Family intended the sa.
Upon realizing this, Shen Heyu directly refused, saying, “I’m not going. If you want to go, go by yourself.”
Saying this, she no longer bothered with Pei Yansi, grabbed the chopsticks next to her, and was ready to enjoy her al.
She was truly hungry.
However, just as she reached out with her chopsticks, the dish was pushed aside by Pei Yansi.
Shen Heyu’s chopsticks t with air, she looked up, dissatisfied, and her puzzled eyes t his, “What are you doing?”
Pei Yansi had a smirk that was not quite a smile, his eyes inscrutable as he said, “Go with .”
Shen Heyu blinked. So if she didn’t accompany him, she wouldn’t be allowed to eat?
She frowned; she could eat by herself, after all. She extended her chopsticks toward another dish that was far away from Pei Yansi.
On that side, Pei Yansi couldn’t reach out to stop her. She successfully picked up so food,
but just as she was bringing her chopsticks back, the man beside her suddenly bent down, opened his mouth, and snatched the food away.
He took the bite directly from Shen Heyu’s hand and swallowed.
He chewed slowly and deliberately, smiling ambiguously at her with evident mirth in his eyes, “Thanks, I’ll have another.”
“…” Shen Heyu suppressed the impulse to slap him dead, angrily put down her chopsticks, and resolved to deal with her hunger back at the Pei Mansion.
Suddenly, she felt a little pathetic. In front of Pei Yansi, was she really unable to even secure her basic needs?
She frowned resentfully.
Watching her slightly morose look, Pei Yansi found it cute; he couldn’t help but let a chuckle escape, fleeting as it was, but he did not permit Shen Heyu to eat her fill.
Chen Lingng, who hadn’t yet left, had been watching the whole scene and noticed Pei Yansi’s smile with so surprise.
You see, even as a child, he rarely showed a smile, his facial expressions were monotone, to say the least, or rather, he was always expressionless.
Yet in just the few minutes she had been in this private room, she had seen Pei Yansi’s expressions beco much more varied and had even seen him smile.
She turned her gaze towards Shen Heyu, sowhat astonished.
It was because of this woman.
She hid her own emotions well, saying to Pei Yansi, “Yansi, when will you go? Shall I accompany you?”
Pei Yansi did not look at her, his gaze stayed on Shen Heyu, and his voice turned a few degrees colder as he said to her, “No need.”
That simple phrase clearly conveyed his rejection.
Chen Lingng, always a wise woman, well-educated and knowing too much persistence could backfire, did not continue to linger. She smiled at Pei Yansi, said her goodbyes, and left.
Watching her finally leave, Shen Heyu spoke to Pei Yansi with dissatisfaction, “You didn’t eat yourself, so why won’t you let …”
“The food is not clean,” Pei Yansi said.
She paused, “What?”
“Let’s go sowhere else,” Pei Yansi indicated the dining table, particularly the spot where Chen Lingng had stood, “Have you forgotten what she did here just now?”
Shen Heyu looked and recalled it in her mind, of course, she hadn’t forgotten. Chen Lingng had stood there, attempting to seduce him with her low tricks, revealing much of her cleavage.
Was it just because of that?
Shen Heyu was sowhat astonished, “Aren’t you exaggerating?”
Pei Yansi snorted coldly, “I think it’s you who isn’t aware. She’s like this even in front of , yet you show no sense of self-awareness, not knowing how to assert your authority?”
As he spoke, he led Heyu into his private room. However, the table full of dishes wasn’t wasted; he gave it to the staff of the restaurant.
Inside his private room, Shen Heyu finally got a taste of sothing warm.
Pei Yansi ate with refined and graceful manners, like a gentleman savoring his al. He took only a few bites before stopping. Sitting next to Shen Heyu, he silently watched her eat heartily.
Her appetite had been fine, but with him staring at her like that, it felt like there were thorns in her back, as if a hungry wolf was eyeing her, and her appetite dwindled by more than half. Just as she was about to put down her chopsticks, Pei Yansi saw through her.
Pei Yansi saw what she was thinking last ti. His gaze turned colder, “Not eating anymore?”
It’s mostly because of watching him that she lost her appetite.
Shen Heyu nodded, “I should go back, my daughter is at ho.”
And she could also take care of Yuexue.
“She’s probably busy playing with her grandma, not sparing you a thought,” Pei Yansi spoke in the calst tone, voicing the harshest truth. He tapped on the table and told her, “Continue eating.”
“I’m already full,” Shen Heyu refused, rising to leave.
Pei Yansi stared at her coldly, the warning in his eyes unmistakable.
He understood her so well. Usually, when he wasn’t around, she ate more than when he was present.
He was determined to break this behavior of hers today.
As if he were so nauseating garbage.
“Sit down and continue,” Pei Yansi pointed to the seat beside him.
In the end, Shen Heyu still sat back down, not daring to defy Pei Yan’s wishes.
She pretended that Pei Yansi didn’t exist, which improved things considerably.
By the ti the two left the restaurant, it was already afternoon.
As they stepped outside, they unexpectedly ran into Shen Jiangli with Han Manyin.
Although the two hadn’t shown any intimate gestures, the looks in their eyes clearly carried a hint of flirtation.
Having not seen Shen Jiangli since the last unpleasant encounter, Shen Heyu’s stomach turned, and she didn’t hide her disdain for him.
Her expression grew disgusted as she sidestepped to leave, acting as if she hadn’t seen them and wanting to walk away.
Pei Yansi watching her do this felt pleased; at least she was now showing her disdain for other n, not him.
He quickly caught up to her.
But they had only taken a few steps when they heard Shen Jiangli’s voice from behind, “Heyu, President Pei.”
Shen Heyu paused in her steps.
Pei Yansi also stopped.
Shen Heyu turned around to look at Shen Jiangli, wondering how he still had the face to call out to her, and said, “What is it?”
Shen Jiangli saw the disgust for him in her eyes. That emotion was like a thorn that deeply pricked his heart. He suppressed the pain inside and said to her, “Will you return to the company?”
Shen Heyu shook her head.
Pei Yansi’s face was stern, and his look at President Shen was devoid of any emotion, “President Shen, it seems that the rich and powerful often forget things. Have you already forgotten the incident from a few days ago? How could she possibly go back?”
“The collaborations she previously had with Shen Group will be canceled because of her departure too.”
“President Shen should take good care of himself.”
Shen Jiangli knew the deep implications behind his words.
