After Lu Ci left, Fu Shihan chuckled lightly.
He t Su Wanxin’s gaze, and under her annoyed stare, said, "He ca to on his own. I really didn’t trick him this ti."
Although he had tried to trick him before, it hadn’t worked out, leaving Fu Shihan a bit disappointed.
"Are you sure it was Lu Ci who brought up marriage on his own?"
"Really," Fu Shihan confird. "I guess... it’s because of what happened today."
"Yaoyao being followed?"
"Yes."
"So why would that make him think of marriage?"
Fu Shihan thought seriously for a mont and said, "Sotis, having a status is quite important."
Won need it, and so do n.
"To openly protect Su Yao, he needs a status."
"But their situation is different from ours." Su Wanxin was worried. "I didn’t resist at the ti because..."
"Because of what?" Fu Shihan raised an eyebrow and asked with a smile.
"...because I was too shy to turn you down!"
Because they had known each other for over a decade, and she loved him to her core.
Fu Shihan: "You’re saying Su Yao is thick-skinned. I’ll have to tell her later."
"Yaoyao actually has quite a temper. If she gets upset, she might break up with Lu Ci on the spot, thinking he doesn’t respect her."
At that point, it would be too awkward, and it wouldn’t do any good for Lu Ci.
Even though deep down Su Wanxin hoped Su Yao could be with Lu Ci, she didn’t want to force Su Yao.
When it cos to feelings, mutual affection is always best.
"Whatever you’ve considered, Lu Ci must have thought of too. He’ll decide what to do. We’re just offering one of many possible solutions."
After leaving, Lu Ci returned to his room, took a shower, changed clothes, and when he went to the study, Su Yao was still engrossed in work.
Lu Ci glanced at the ti and asked, "When are you going to bed?"
"I don’t know, maybe pulling an all-nighter." Su Yao replied without looking up, "You go ahead and sleep."
Lu Ci didn’t leave. He picked a law book from her shelf and sat nearby, accompanying her.
Su Yao looked at him curiously, seeing him seriously read her professional book, and couldn’t help but laugh.
"I really might stay up late. You don’t need to wait for ."
"Hmm, I’m just browsing."
He said that, but even by 12:30 AM, he hadn’t shown any sign of leaving.
Su Yao took the warm milk he handed her, glanced at the ti, and sensed sothing.
"Do you have sothing you want to talk to about?" She took a sip of milk and said, "Then go ahead!"
"I want to get married."
"Pfft—"
A mouthful of milk ended up on Lu Ci, landing in a rather awkward location.
Su Yao put down the cup, grabbed a couple of tissues to hastily wipe him, then blushed and threw the tissues away.
"Why’d you suddenly bring up this topic out of nowhere?"
"Because I want to, so I can’t let it go," Lu Ci looked at her, frowning. "I want to be by your side, to protect you, to be closer to you."
"But... I really have no plans to get married right now," Su Yao felt a bit guilty. "This is a bit sudden for , I can’t agree."
"Then how about an engagent? Given our current relationship, if it were an engagent, you could accept it, right?"
Su Yao thought for a mont, hesitated, and spoke up, "Is this your way of proposing?"
"It is."
"Then where’s the ring?" Su Yao spread her palm. "A proposal ring is a must, right?"
"I’ll make up for it tomorrow, okay?"
"Tsk, your attitude isn’t good enough. I refuse."
