After greeting Fu Shili and others, Fu Shihan left the hotel.

In the parking lot, Lin Rui was drowsy but perked up when he saw Fu Shihan enter the car and drove him ho.

Fu Shihan had drunk quite a bit, and by the ti the car arrived downstairs, he was almost asleep. Roused gently by Lin Rui’s reminder, he alighted and went upstairs.

The elevator went straight to the top floor. Fu Shihan, carrying his suit jacket, walked to his front door and keyed in the code. After being warned twice for incorrect password entries, he suddenly ca to his senses.

Staring at the door that wouldn’t open, he laughed and sighed, stepping back to lean against the wall. After a long contemplation with his head down, he slowly walked towards the opposite door.

He had deceived himself for a day, nearly forgetting the fact that he had been driven out.

Fu Shihan had envisioned many scenarios for when they would get their marriage certificate, but none were like this.

...

The long night stretched on, and Su Wanxin lay in bed, wide awake.

The events of the morning felt like a dream to her, leaving her until now with a surreal feeling.

She dared not imagine what the reaction of the Fu Family would be if they found out about this, especially Li Mo, who would definitely fly into a rage.

Unable to sleep, Su Wanxin went downstairs to warm up a cup of milk. She washed her hands in the bathroom along the way and stood staring at herself in the mirror, lost in thought.

Due to the blood and qi deficiency from lying in a coma for a long ti after a car accident, her complexion had always been poor.

Even after resting for a year and a half, she couldn’t return to her original appearance, looking sickly throughout.

Now thinner than before, it was no wonder that Shen Xiaochen didn’t recognize her when they first t after her return.

Even Su Wanxin herself found the person in the mirror sowhat unfamiliar now.

What value does such a face have for him to like?

This madman, utterly foolish.

Su Wanxin chuckled bitterly as she walked into the kitchen, ward up a cup of milk, and sat on the sofa to continue in her daze.

She hadn’t closely seen what the marriage certificate looked like today or whether the photo on it was nice. She only rembered his satisfied smile during the day, as if he had made off with a great deal.

He was genuinely happy today, not faking it.

Su Wanxin’s thoughts drifted back to simpler tis.

She rembered that a while ago, Fu Shihan said he would keep an account of all his dealings with her to settle one by one in the future. He also ntioned her past refusal to marry him.

To be honest, hearing him say that, Su Wanxin even doubted for a mont if she had mory loss because she didn’t recall him ever proposing to her.

If she had to say he did propose... The only instance she rembered was in bed, after an intimate mont.

He said, "Let’s get a certificate, you’ve slept with so many tis, you ought to give so status, right?"

Su Wanxin didn’t take it seriously at the ti; after all, she hadn’t graduated from university and simply told him to "get lost."

As for the rest... Su Wanxin struggled to rember.

She only recalled how Fu Shihan loved watching her study. When she did math exercises, he would distract her by scribbling r=a(1-sinθ) for her to draw the cardioid.

While she worked on chemistry howork, he would write out the formula for the displacent reaction between magnesium and zinc sulfate and ask her what it ant.

Even when she slacked off to watch a movie, he insisted on discussing the Cartesian Coordinate System with her and dabble in Gamma Functions, leaving her so frustrated she wanted to hit him.
