"Another Supre Good On?"
Lei Jun was first delighted.
The on referred to a Fourth-Grade Opportunity. Though it seed less impressive than the Third-Grade Opportunity of the Breath-Taking Flag from the previous Supre Good On, it was still quite significant. Moreover, this Fourth-Grade Opportunity appeared to have potential for future developnt.
However, along with the great luck of the Supre Good On, there was also a Lower-Bad On this ti, signifying a grave danger that warranted caution.
Additionally, the on ntioned sothing called the “Blood Sea” and the “Eight Desolations Blood River Formation.”
Lei Jun had heard of the Eight Desolations Blood River Formation before but hadn’t seen it in person. It was said to be an upgraded version of the Blood River Formation, which required at least a Middle-Heaven cultivation level from Blood River Sect disciples to set up.
As for the Blood Sea, its nature remained unclear.
It seed that on this expedition to the underground palace, they would be facing more than just an ordinary Blood River Formation — there would be sothing much more formidable.
After traveling over a hundred miles south, Lei Jun and his companions arrived at a hilly region. Among the hills, a cave entrance was visible, and a strong stench of blood emanated from within, along with a flickering blood-red glow.
A young disciple of the Tianshi Mansion had discovered this cave. The underground pathways inside ford a complex maze, and deep within, there was a Blood River Formation gathering sinister blood energy. The disciple couldn't handle it alone, so he sought reinforcents. Upon receiving the ssage, Lei Jun and his group rushed over.
Seeing his fellow disciples arrive, the young disciple finally breathed a sigh of relief. They gathered and entered the cave together.
The sound of rushing water grew louder and louder, as though a mighty river was flowing. The pungent stench of blood thickened, mingled with a powerful malevolent aura that could disturb the mind.
Ordinary people wouldn't be able to withstand such an environnt. Just being hit by the blood energy would drive them insane with bloodlust.
Fortunately, the group’s cultivation allowed them to endure it, and everyone had been trained properly. Each person took out a Tranquility Talisman and applied it to themselves in advance.
They quickly located an ordinary Blood River Formation, but this ti, they couldn’t dismantle it as easily as before. The underground blood river had already taken shape, with foul blood flowing like a long river, its source and destination unknown.
Seeing this, Lei Jun began to understand the situation. One of the group suggested splitting up to block the blood river from different directions, making it easier to dismantle the formation.
“No matter which direction you go, be careful,” Lei Jun reminded them. “This blood river has grown strong. There might be unknown dangers.”
Everyone nodded in agreent.
Lei Jun chose to follow the blood river downstream. He had two fellow disciples with him, but as they ventured deeper, the underground palace’s terrain beca increasingly complicated, with nurous branching paths.
They agreed on so markings and a rendezvous ti, then split up.
The underground palace had more than one entrance. Apart from his companions, Lei Jun also encountered other disciples and mbers of the Fang Clan. These individuals had likely discovered other Blood River Formations or rivers and had co down to investigate.
Lei Jun concealed his presence and proceeded alone. He patiently searched the maze, retracing his steps a few tis.
Before long, he spotted a Blood River Sect disciple. Instead of confronting the disciple imdiately, Lei Jun continued to hide and followed him discreetly.
This led him to his destination.
In an underground cavern, a vast, seemingly endless Blood Sea ca into view. The foul blood surged like ocean waves, occasionally bubbling and bursting in grotesque fashion.
Figures flitted above the Blood Sea, all of them True Disciples of the Blood River Sect.
The Blood River Sect experts had been detected by the Tianshi Mansion elders, prompting battles that drew the attention of the sect’s upper ranks. anwhile, deep underground, this massive Blood Sea had been forming in secret.
Multiple blood rivers flowed into the Blood Sea from various directions, their convergence intensifying the malevolent aura.
The Blood River Sect didn’t expect to keep this Blood Sea hidden forever. They just hoped to harvest its power before it was discovered.
But their hopes were dashed.
Lei Jun, though hidden, saw flashes of spiritual light appearing at other river mouths. There were glows from the Tianshi Mansion disciples’ talismans and the Fang Clan’s scholarly treasures.
All the blood rivers converged here. The teams destroying other Blood River Formations had noticed the anomaly and traced it to this location.
The number of Blood River Sect disciples guarding the area was small but formidable. These cultivators were known for their ferocity and ruthlessness. Enhanced by the Blood Sea’s sinister energy, they fought with even greater power.
However, their luck was terrible. This group of Tianshi Mansion disciples happened to be led by a Middle-Heaven elder.
The elder charged ahead, and despite the Blood River Sect disciples’ fierce resistance, they were steadily pushed back.
Lei Jun watched from a distance. When he finally recognized the elder, his expression grew odd.
…It’s a familiar face.
Strictly speaking, Lei Jun had never interacted directly with this elder. Back when he was in the Daoist Children’s Academy, the incident that led to him acquiring the Purple-Gold Lingzhi Essence had started when Elder Du’s altar ritual exploded.
After Lei Jun beca an official disciple, he had occasionally seen Elder Du from afar. But he hadn’t expected to encounter him here.
Led by Elder Du, the Tianshi Mansion disciples charged into the Blood Sea. As so Blood River Sect disciples were killed, the survivors grinned savagely.
They shouted in unison and plunged into the Blood Sea.
The already turbulent Blood Sea erupted into towering waves. Layers of blood-red light surged from beneath the surface.
As the waves roared, the entire Blood Sea turned violent and chaotic. This was a desperate move by the Blood River Sect disciples. Though not a self-sacrifice, it was still dangerous for them.
Their goal was to unleash chaos, hoping to escape while dealing a heavy blow to the Tianshi Mansion disciples.
The Blood Sea erupted, causing the connected blood rivers to reverse their flow. Elder Du and his team bore the brunt of the impact.
Fortunately, Elder Du held the front line, preventing the situation from turning into a complete disaster.
As long as they avoided falling into the Eight Desolations Blood Cavern ntioned in the Lower-Bad On, they could survive.
Lei Jun watched Elder Du struggle at the forefront, shielding the Tianshi Mansion and Fang Clan disciples from the Blood Sea’s onslaught.
…Elder Du, you’re working hard once again.
