Secretly Married for 4 Years, He Regrets to Tears After the Divorce Chapter 174: Fraternal Twins
In the aftermath of the plane crash, first responders rushed to the scene to begin rescue operations as the dia provided live, factual coverage...
「Ten months later.」
Wren Sutton gave birth to a pair of healthy fraternal twins at the hospital.
The spirit in the two little ones’ eyes was the spitting image of Adrian Lancaster as a child. The baby boy, especially, was a miniature version of Adrian.
Hearing her babies’ clear, loud cries, Wren Sutton shed tears of joy and relief.
She was utterly exhausted, with no energy left. After glancing at her two children, she gave a contented smile, closed her eyes, and peacefully drifted off to sleep.
Outside the delivery room, the Lancasters, along with Mr. and Mrs. Sutton, waited anxiously.
When a doctor brought the babies out, the Lancasters sward forward.
Theodore Lancaster was the quickest. "Let hold them first! I’m their grandfather."
The matriarch, weeping with joy, said, "I’m their great-grandmother. I should be the first to hold them."
Claire Sterling also pushed forward, her eyes filled with affection. "I’m their grandmother. I want to hold them too."
Lucia Lancaster and Julian Lancaster paced anxiously on the outskirts of the group, also wanting to hold the babies, but it wasn’t their turn yet.
"What are you so anxious for? If you want to hold a baby, you can go ho and hold Zoey. No one will fight you for her," Lucia Lancaster teased.
Julian Lancaster let out a proud huff, not bothering to argue with her.
"Zoey is my daughter, but these two little ones are my nephew and niece. I’m going to hold both of them."
Mr. and Mrs. Sutton also adored the babies, but while they were happy, the couple was more concerned about the person still inside the delivery room.
"Doctor, how is my daughter now? Can I go in and be with her?"
"The chief physician is suturing the mother’s incision. Family mbers can’t go in yet."
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Sutton clasped her hands together and silently prayed for her daughter.
’For a woman, giving birth is like walking through death’s door.’ Mrs. Sutton just prayed that her daughter would be all right.
Two hours later, Wren Sutton was moved from the delivery room to a hospital room. Because she had a natural birth, she had to remain under observation for at least twenty-four hours before she could be discharged.
Wren Sutton slept for the entire afternoon. When her exhaustion had eased sowhat, the first words she spoke upon opening her eyes were, "Where are my babies?"
"Right here."
Mrs. Sutton placed the two babies on the bed, settling them in Wren Sutton’s arms.
When Wren Sutton saw her babies, her eyes curved into crescents as she smiled. She reached out to touch their faces, her joy indescribable.
"They’re so tiny... and so red and wrinkly."
Mrs. Sutton brought over a cup of warm brown sugar water.
"What do you an, red? They’re fair! And they’ll get cuter with each passing day."
"Here, Nina, drink so of this brown sugar water first. The Lancaster family just sent over so food. Finish the water, then have sothing to eat."
Wren Sutton’s incision ached. It hurt to sit up, so she could only lie on her side, sipping water through a straw. When it was ti to eat, Mrs. Sutton fed her spoonful by spoonful.
There was a caregiver assigned to do these things, but Mrs. Sutton waved her away, wanting to take care of her daughter personally.
After the al, the caregiver handled the cleanup while Mrs. Sutton stayed with Wren Sutton in the hospital room. She took out a check.
"Nina, this is a reward for you from the Lancaster matriarch. One billion."
Wren Sutton glanced at it, her heart filled with mixed emotions. She let out a soft sigh.
"Mom, please hold on to it for . You can give it to after we get ho."
"All right." Mrs. Sutton put the check away. "Besides this, the Lancaster family has also arranged for a postnatal care center. You and the babies will go there directly after you’re discharged."
"Mm."
Wren Sutton nodded in agreent. Her gaze returned to her children, but when she thought of a certain soone, her eyes welled up and her heart began to ache.
Mrs. Sutton knew what was troubling her daughter. Suppressing her own pain, she tried to comfort her. "Crying during your recovery period is bad for your eyes."
Wren Sutton forced back her tears and took a deep breath to compose herself.
"I’m okay, Mom."
’Ten months had passed since the plane crash, yet it felt like it had only happened yesterday. Every detail from the news reports was still fresh in her mind.’
’Plumting from that altitude into a ravine left virtually no chance of survival. In the end, both the plane and its passengers were reduced to fragnts.’
The mont she heard the news, the emotional shock was so intense that Wren Sutton’s face went pale and she fainted on the spot.
The court hearing was forced to a halt.
The Lancasters rushed to the hospital, where they learned from the doctors that Wren Sutton was pregnant. Due to the imnse emotional distress, she was showing signs of a threatened miscarriage.
Caught between overwhelming grief and sudden joy, Theodore Lancaster gave the hospital an absolute order: no matter the cost, they had to save both Wren Sutton and her unborn child.
Claire Sterling was heartbroken and beca a completely different person. She began to protect Wren Sutton with all her might, handing over that secret recording to the judge.
The Marshall Family was utterly defeated and completely disgraced. They fled the city overnight with their tails between their legs.
