After breakfast, Shen Weiyi received a ssage.
The sender was just a string of phone numbers. Although not saved as a contact, she had long committed them to mory.
The text ssage was from Jiang Zhiyi, asking her to et him at the milk tea shop near their neighborhood.
Shen Weiyi went upstairs to change her clothes, told Shen Juanzhi she was leaving, and then headed out.
It only took a few minutes to walk from her ho to the milk tea shop.
As she opened the door, she was greeted by a blast of cool air.
The milk tea shop was small. Upon entering, Shen Weiyi imdiately spotted Jiang Zhiyi sitting by the window.
His finely chopped bangs cast shadows on his face, his standard peach blossom eyes lacking their usual spirited sparkle. The corners of his eyes were slightly drooped, showing a hint of youthfulness and innocence, making him resemble a large breed dog.
Next to him sat two young girls, continuously stealing glances at him. With mobile phones in their hands, they looked in Jiang Zhiyi’s direction while nudging each other and whispering.
Shen Weiyi instantly knew what they were planning to do, having seen this situation many tis since childhood.
Sure enough, the next second, one of the girls stood up and hesitantly approached Jiang Zhiyi to quietly ask if she could add him on WeChat.
"I’m sorry, my girlfriend would not be pleased," Jiang Zhiyi, having already spotted Shen Weiyi at the door, replied, his gaze moving past the girl and directly onto Shen Weiyi.
His eyes were focused, as if she was the only person in his world.
In the past, he certainly wouldn’t have been so straightforward; he might have even used it as a chance to show off.
After the breakup, he had changed a lot.
The girl realized sothing, turned to look in Shen Weiyi’s direction, blushed deeply the next second, and quickly left with a muttered "sorry," pulling the other girl with her.
Shen Weiyi walked past the two girls and took the seat across from Jiang Zhiyi.
She saw Jiang Zhiyi’s eyes eagerly fix on her. Once she sat down, he handed her a cup of fruit tea he had ordered for her, saying, "I ordered this for you."
"Thank you!"
"Yao Yao..."
"Do you need sothing from ?"
Both spoke almost at the sa ti.
The air suddenly beca silent.
"Are you still angry?" Jiang Zhiyi asked cautiously after a mont.
So, after all this ti, he still thought she was just angry.
"I stopped being angry a long ti ago," Shen Weiyi said.
Brightened by her words, Jiang Zhiyi was about to speak when Shen Weiyi added, "After all, I never let things that have passed trouble ."
Jiang Zhiyi’s expression froze montarily before he spoke again, "My exam results ca out, and they were pretty good. What about you?"
These days, he thought about her every day but was afraid to et her.
He had waited until his results were out before seeking her.
Shen Weiyi: "Not bad."
It was evident that the girl still had so feelings, but Jiang Zhiyi wasn’t discouraged and continued, "Have you decided on which university you want to apply to?"
"I might apply to Z University," Shen Weiyi hesitated before answering.
Seeing the obvious spark in Jiang Zhiyi’s eyes and the smile tugging at the corner of his lips, and rembering he had once told her his aim was also Z University—to prevent him from overthinking—she added after a mont, "Don’t get it wrong, it’s not for you."
It’s okay, explanations are just cover-ups.
He understood!
