Chapter 188 – 189: Jiang Ling

“Xiao Han!” Not far away, Li Dapang stood on a flowerbed, waving at him excitedly.

“Coming!” Xiao Han nodded.

“You just ca out?” Li Dapang asked curiously.

“I’ve been out for a while.” Xiao Han smiled, then said, “Was in the conference room for a bit.”

“Then why didn’t I see you?” Li Dapang hurriedly asked.

“I was in the corner!” Xiao Han glanced at him and said, “Let’s go.”

“Alright!” Li Dapang nodded.

Yang Xiaoyan was also standing at the school gate waiting for Xiao Han. The three quickly got into the van, keen to leave while it was still less crowded. Otherwise, once the crowd built up, the traffic would definitely be a big problem, and jams would be likely everywhere.

Li Dapang drove off quickly.

“Let’s find a place to eat,” Li Dapang chuckled, “I’m treating today!”

“Sure!” Yang Xiaoyan imdiately agreed.

After that, Li Dapang imdiately drove to a food stall.

“Look at you, Fatty, not going to your own restaurant and instead, eating sowhere else?” Yang Xiaoyan glared at Li Dapang, saying, “Aren’t you afraid Xiao Han will beat you up?”

“Hehe…” Li Dapang chuckled mischievously, “Xiao Han definitely won’t hit .”

“Why’s that?” Yang Xiaoyan asked.

“If we go to Hann Restaurant, do you think Liu Xiaolei would take our money?” Li Dapang laughed, “We can’t make her foot the bill, right?”

“The restaurant is yours, so why make her pay?” Yang Xiaoyan asked curiously.

“Should we make it clear to her?” Li Dapang challenged.

“This…” Yang Xiaoyan hesitated for a mont, then quickly shook her head, “Never mind. It definitely won’t work.”

“That’s settled then,” Li Dapang laughed.

Soon, several dishes were served. Li Dapang hurriedly filled a large bowl with rice, then said, “Damn it, I nearly starved during the morning exam; now I can finally have a feast.”

“Eat less!” Yang Xiaoyan glared at him and said, “Look at that belly of yours; it’s so big already.”

“Haha…” Xiao Han laughed when he heard this.

“What? You despise now?” Xiao Han asked.

“I’m just saying you should lose so weight; being too fat isn’t good for your health!” Yang Xiaoyan pursed her lips.

The three of them were rry as they dined. Although Yang Xiaoyan kept telling Li Dapang to eat less, she continued to pile food onto his plate. Li Dapang also served Yang Xiaoyan food. This scene made Xiao Han sowhat envious. Free love seed so difficult for himself. He wondered how Chen Zihan was doing now and whether her exams had improved.

He hoped she could fulfill her dream to be admitted to Harvard University.

“Xiao Han, why aren’t you eating?” Li Dapang asked urgently.

In the sweltering sumr heat, Li Dapang wore only a short-sleeved shirt, but he was still sweating profusely while eating. He simply rolled up his sleeves, revealing his arms, while Yang Xiaoyan beside him continuously wiped the sweat from his forehead with a tissue.

“I’m full,” Xiao Han put down his utensils.

“It was just one bowl,” Li Dapang put down his utensils as well, saying, “You still have an exam this afternoon; if you don’t eat enough, what will you do?”

“Don’t worry,” Xiao Han smiled.

At that mont, Yang Xiaoyan smiled and said, “We’ll buy him so bread later, so he can carry it with him and have sothing to fill up on if he gets hungry.”

“Right!” Li Dapang nodded, “He probably can’t eat now since his girlfriend ran off.”

“What are you blabbering about?!” Yang Xiaoyan waved her fist at Li Dapang, saying, “Don’t talk nonsense, or I’ll hit you.”

“Not saying it, not saying it anymore,” Li Dapang quickly shook his head.

After lunch, Li Dapang dropped Xiao Han off at his ho.

Xiao Han couldn’t avoid a rest at noon; he wanted to call Chen Zihan several tis, but he restrained his emotions. Because he knew the mont he dialed her number, he would lose control of his feelings. He was scared, he was anxious. So, he restrained his emotions. Eventually, Xiao Han sent Chen Zihan a text ssage: “Zi Han, how did the morning exams go? I did quite well here.

Keep it up in the afternoon!”

No reply ca back after the ssage was sent.

Xiao Han fell silent but soon realized that, most likely, Chen Zihan’s mother had taken her phone away. Xiao Han collected himself and lay on the bed, closing his eyes for a while. He had to rest well for the afternoon exam, as the math test would be ntally draining, so he needed to be well-rested.

Closing his eyes, he quickly fell asleep.

Not until two in the afternoon did a series of urgent honks outside wake him. Xiao Han hurriedly got up. Checking his phone, he saw it was already two o’clock. He exclaid in shock and rushed out quickly.

“Ouch, why did you just get here?” Li Dapang pushed open the car door, ready to get out and call soone.

“Overslept.” Xiao Han took a deep breath, waking up feeling refreshed and devoid of the drowsiness he had felt in the morning.

“Xiao Han, you really have so nerve,” Li Dapang laughed heartily, “You were sickly in the morning, and now you’re all spirited.”

“I must be prepared for the test this afternoon,” Xiao Han said earnestly, “The examination room is like a battlefield; you must be energized.”

“Hmm, I’m really looking forward to your score!” Li Dapang chuckled gleefully.

“It won’t be bad!” Xiao Han was full of confidence.

The subject of the afternoon exam was mathematics, which places strong demands on logical and computational abilities. The opening multiple-choice questions were relatively simple, but as the questions progressed, the difficulty increased. However, these were not challenging for Xiao Han. They were all relatively simple questions. He had even tackled similar ones before.

Xiao Han’s mory was exceptionally strong, making him unforgettable when it ca to problems he had already solved.

Therefore, Xiao Han felt a sense of déjà vu with these questions.

Multiple choice, true or false, followed by the major questions. It all felt particularly easy. Seeing the math questions for the afternoon as such a breeze, Xiao Han’s heart revealed a trace of relief. With his judgnt, these questions should not be hard, and the students from Hann Training Class should be able to secure a decent score.

The large questions at the end had no issues for Xiao Han, except for the very last one which was a bit challenging.

He breezed through the final major question. In the two-hour exam, Xiao Han took only fifty-five minutes. After finishing the questions, he didn’t hand in his paper imdiately but checked it from start to finish carefully and ticulously.

The review took half an hour. Only when he was certain there were no issues with his answers did Xiao Han imdiately stand up, pack up his answering tools, and then turn to leave the classroom.

Rustle…

Everyone looked at Xiao Han all at once.

“He’s amazing, finished already?”

“Could it be that he couldn’t solve them, so he simply gave up?”

So students even muttered to themselves.

“Enough, focus on your own papers and keep quiet, or else it’ll be treated as cheating!” The invigilating teachers for the afternoon had changed, and they were exceptionally strict.

A bunch of people imdiately shut their mouths.

Xiao Han walked out with asured steps, head raised and chest out, seemingly full of confidence and composure.

Stepping out of the classroom, he faced the outside sun. The fierce sun hung in midair like a ball of fire, shining down on the earth, continuously drawing water from the ground. The humidity in the air was high.

Yet, Xiao Han walked out as if a refreshing breeze was brushing his face.

“You’re out already?” Liu Jini caught Xiao Han in the hallway again. She was a patrol invigilator this year. Her job was to patrol back and forth, checking the classroom situation from the windows, ready to catch any cheaters imdiately.

A strange smile lifted the corners of Xiao Han’s mouth. He grinned and said, “Teacher Liu, math was fairly easy this ti around!”

“Really?” Liu Jini was skeptical, as she belonged to the patrol and hadn’t yet seen the exam questions.

“Yeah!” Xiao Han nodded and said, “I should be close to a perfect score.”

“That’s good.” Liu Jini imdiately heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing this. “Go back and rest early. You need to give it your all for tomorrow’s science comprehensive and English exams!”

“Yeah!” Xiao Han smiled.

This ti, Xiao Han was not the first one to enter the conference room. Before he entered, there were already three people gathered inside. Reporters were surrounding the three students, chatting and asking them how they felt about the exam.

“How did it go? How was the exam?” the female reporter asked.

“The last major question was a ss,” one of the boys said helplessly, “I finished the rest, but I’m not too confident about it. I should get over 100 points, I guess.”

“I expect my score to be around 120,” another boy said.

“What do you guys think about the difficulty of this exam?” asked another reporter nearby.

“Not bad.”

“Average!”

Several students spoke out.

Xiao Han was sitting alone in a corner, his head down, seriously looking at so handwritten notes and materials in his hands. Among his materials was a notebook that Chen Zihan had given him. The neat handwriting, perfectly ordered, with a very beautiful font, was clearly written by a girl. However, things have changed; the gift was there, but the person was not.

At that mont, the female reporter with sharp eyes spotted Xiao Han. In the morning, he was the first to leave, and she did not expect that in the afternoon’s math exam, he was still among the first five to finish. Driven by curiosity, she hurriedly got up and walked towards Xiao Han.

“Student, how do you feel about today’s exam?” the female reporter asked curiously.

“It was okay!” Xiao Han glanced at her.

A very pretty girl with ear-length hair, a bob cut, paired with big eyes and long eyelashes, and a doll-like face, quite cute. She didn’t look very old and probably just started working not long ago. Xiao Han noticed her na badge on her chest: LJ City TV Station Reporter: Jiang Ling.
