"How could that be?"

Perhaps because Wei Wei's smile at this mont was too bright and too pure, Sister Lucky looked at his smile and felt as if she had said sothing wrong, or as if she hadn't understood the question at all. She didn't know if it was the alcohol taking effect, but she only rembered Wei Wei's smiling face as he answered her, and his serious and clear eyes:

"They're still alive..."

"How do you know?"

"Because I can hear their heartbeats every night..."

"..."

Sister Lucky's emotions suddenly beca very complex, looking at Wei Wei's calm and clear eyes with so surprise.

She didn't know if it was so kind of instinctive panic or a feeling of pity arising in her heart.

She unconsciously avoided Wei Wei's gaze, steadied herself a bit, and smiled: "Little Wei, are we drinking too slowly?"

"Definitely too slow."

Wei Wei looked directly at Sister Lucky, also smiling, still gentle, as if he would never lose his temper.

"Sister Lucky, I'm actually very curious."

"What benefits will there be from wearing the underwear you gave ?"

"..."

"That's not certain."

Sister Lucky successfully changed the topic, feeling a sense of relief, her smile returning to its elegant and delicate state:

"Demonic power affects different people and situations differently."

"So people who wear it might avoid certain disasters, like a bullet that was ant to hit them, or a car that was supposed to crash into them. So people might fulfill a long-held wish after wearing it, or suddenly et the right person in their life."

"I just gave you a winning lottery ticket. As for what the prize in this lottery ticket is, nobody knows."

"..."

Wei Wei seed suddenly very interested: "Any wish could co true?"

"We can only say it's possible, but we don't know specifically. Basically, everyone who wears it will see so effect," Sister Lucky smiled and said. "Except for Feifei, she's beyond help."

Wei Wei looked at the smiling face of SpongeBob on the simple plastic bag: "Well, that makes look forward to it..."

"You should believe in , good things will definitely happen in life."

Sister Lucky smiled and raised her glass, saying: "Aren't we all living for this bit of luck?"

"Mm-hmm."

"Co on, let's toast to this bit of luck in our lives..."

"..."

Wei Wei smiled and clinked glasses with Sister Lucky, then they both raised their bottles.

They drank happily that night, and both seed to let their guards down. So the clear liquor flowed down their throats amidst laughter and jokes. They drank until they were tipsy, then went arm in arm to sing karaoke, and then to a bar. After the bar, they finally supported Sister Lucky, who was truly drunk by now, dancing in the street holding her high heels, to a nearby hotel.

Wei Wei helped her upstairs, placed her properly on the bed, and covered her with a blanket.

Sister Lucky kicked off the blanket with one foot, lazily rolling over on the bed, her smooth beautiful legs hanging over the edge.

Wei Wei tucked her legs back in and covered her with the blanket again.

Sister Lucky hugged the pillow, turned on her side, her legs clamping the blanket, and fell into a deep sleep.

Wei Wei looked at her for a mont, poured her a glass of warm water, and placed it on the bedside table.

Then he turned, picked up the bag, and went into the bathroom. Soon, the sound of clothes rustling could be heard from inside.

After a while, Wei Wei ca out of the bathroom.

His clothes were intact, but he walked with a slight waddle.

He looked up at Sister Lucky, who was sleeping in a most unladylike manner, and placed a trash can by the bed for her.

"Have a good dream..."

He whispered softly in Sister Lucky's ear, then slowly left the room, turning off the lights as he went.

Sister Lucky had drunk a lot and was sleeping deeply.

After who knows how long, she lazily rolled over and let out a soft sigh.

"As a woman, a beautiful woman who's drunk too much..."

She looked at herself in the mirror, her hair a ss, and seed a bit troubled as she rubbed her hair, laughing self-mockingly: "I don't know if at this mont I should sigh about my consistent luck, or if I should feel a little... disappointed!"

As she spoke, she sat up, took the warm water from beside the bed, and slowly drank it.

She dialed a number.

Captain Ouyang answered quickly, as if he had been waiting for this call.

But before he could say anything, Sister Lucky spoke softly: "You can rest assured, he didn't co for the God's Remnant."

Captain Ouyang's tone seed unsurprised, just a bit unexpected:

"You're sure so quickly?"

"..."

"Yes."

Sister Lucky leaned against the headboard, slowly pulling out a slim ladies' cigarette and lighting it.

As the smoke curled through the room, she said softly: "Although we didn't talk much, I'm very sure that now, in his heart, there's no room for anything else."

Captain Ouyang asked puzzled: "What do you an?"

Sister Lucky slowly rubbed her brow: "His inner world is very simple, surprisingly simple. I even think he's a pure person, pure to the point that he only wants revenge. Everything he does is for revenge, his heart and eyes are filled with nothing but revenge. He doesn't want the great opportunities in the training camp, doesn't want better prospects and developnt, and doesn't want to see people from before when he returns to Scrap Iron City. But he still cos back, living alone in the world that once gave him nightmares."

"I even suspect he's afraid of forgetting about revenge, constantly reminding himself."

"..."

"But..." Captain Ouyang was clearly surprised: "Aren't his enemies already..."

"Yes, all his enemies are already dead, killed by him thoroughly long ago."

Sister Lucky said softly: "Then he feels it's still not enough, so he cos back to this empty city for revenge."

"Through his eyes, I can see that his heart is full of the fire of revenge."

"It's almost enough to burn himself clean, to burn the whole world clean. Such a fire of rage, perhaps only the blood of enemies could wash it clean, but we all know, he no longer has targets to release all that rage on."

She sighed softly and asked rhetorically: "Would soone like this have the mind to sche for that thing?"

"If there's sothing to worry about, I'm more concerned about another point..."

"All his enemies are dead, so where will his rage burn towards?"

"..."

Captain Ouyang was silent for a good while before letting out a soft sigh, as if slowly rubbing his forehead:

"Or should we say, it's pitiful?"

"A revenger who can't find objects for revenge..."

"..."

"Maybe it's not as bad as we think..."

After a while, Sister Lucky suddenly smiled and said: "At least he's still eager to put on the underwear, which shows he's still hoping for good things to happen."

"People who are still hoping for good things to happen are never that desperate inside."

"Right?"

"..."

"..."

"Doesn't seem to have changed much..."

Downstairs, Wei Wei drove Sister Lucky's sports car, looking left and right at the late-night streets.

Perhaps he was too impatient.

Sister Lucky was right, maybe everyone living in this world is hoping for that bit of good luck to happen.

He was the sa, maybe his own luck had already happened.

He just didn't know it yet?

Vrooom...

The accelerating sports car flashed like lightning through the empty streets, its roar like a demon's howl.

"Rich bastard..."

In a small alley left behind by the sports car, a drunk man spat viciously.

"Driving so fast, in a hurry to et the devil?"

He cursed, swaying as he leaned against the wall, urinating noisily.

In his hazy state, he suddenly sensed a bit of light.

Slightly startled, he turned his head sharply and saw a little girl standing at the entrance of the alley, quietly watching him.

She looked about seven or eight years old, wearing a dark red children's trench coat.

Her face was unusually pale, as white as paper.

Her hair was braided into two plaits, one long and one short, hanging over her shoulders on either side.

In her hand, she held an electronic lantern shaped like a pumpkin, emitting a faint glow.

The demon's smiling face on the pumpkin bared two rows of sharp teeth.

"What the hell?"

Suddenly seeing such a pale-faced little girl, the drunk man's head suddenly felt numb.

He pressed one hand against the wall and cursed loudly: "Get the hell away."

The little girl's expression seed a bit dazed.

Hearing this, she didn't retreat from the alley, but slowly walked forward.

"Damn it..."

The drunk man hurriedly pulled up his pants, malice suddenly rising, and pointed at her nose, cursing: "You want to die or what?"

He raised his hand, pointing at the girl's nose, and even wanted to kick her.

But she seed not to know fear at all, just asking in a dull tone: "Uncle, can I ask for directions?"

"..."

Even the most vicious person would instinctively lower their guard a bit when faced with a little girl asking for directions.

The urinating drunk man, even though he was angry inside, softened his tone a bit: "What the hell directions are you asking for, where are you going?"

The little girl suddenly looked up, her pupils pitch black: "You agreed?"

The drunk man didn't even notice, still cursing: "Ask quickly..."

"No need..."

The little girl said dully, suddenly appearing beside the drunk man, standing on a garbage can.

Her hand was at the sa height as the drunk man's head.

Because the drunk man was too drunk, and because the little girl appeared too abruptly, instantly moving from two or three ters away to right beside him, almost touching him, the drunk man's alcohol-addled brain couldn't keep up with her speed.

Therefore, he just stared blankly, hearing the girl's answer: "I've found it myself..."

As she spoke, a small hand reached into his head.
